  • Over time reading music gets easier. It was difficult learning how to read words when we were children, but we learned over time.

  • @oregonskateok Its easy

  • Thank you so much for this video, I found it very useful

  • Interesting and useful

  • if u can get intervals down, sight reading isn't that hard. like oregon said the more u do it the easier it gets. just gotta put the time in.

  • I'm self taught and I found this very very useful. Reading sheets have been getting easier for me over time, but I' could never really identify the intervals. Thanks!

  • It's Sacrifice by Elton John, isn't it?

  • Really good tips... though I think I'm listening to Peter Lorre sometimes ;)

  • u can try pieces with syncopations..eg songs by norah jones, jay chou..it would be difficult at first. write down the counts, clap and count them aloud..

i hope this helps coz it did for me..and i'm passing it down to my students..even though it's v tiring

  • LOL.

his name is shown on the entrance black screen, bottom right.

Didnt get it at first either. :-)

  • there isnt a quick fix to sight reading...there are several skills that may enhance ur sight reading skills..and proposed ways to polish it but ultimately u still need a lot of practice...and practice here means going thru many many unfamiliar pieces

  • ...sigh (and i mean a really deep sigh)

I need this so bad tho. I need to LEARN!!!

  • also if u recognise what ur weakness are..take a conscious step to work on it..it could recognizing notes...it could be rhythm..

through my research, i learnt tht 70% of readers had problem with rhtythm..

so it'd be good to do rhythmic drills. i was once a v poor reader too and always relied on hearing a piece before playing. but it's skipping the process of working out the rhythm that had led me to just imitate and not think.

  • This is good. this should be taken in ur sight reading practice. i'm doing a research on sight reading...and based on a past research, neuroscientists found tht the part of the brain activated when sight reading music is associated with spatial processing. so it differs from language processing where ur processing symbols...so u should try not read note for note..instead try analyse spaces..intevallic spaced and overall structures..

  • This is really good leasson..butthe views is too small....bigger view would be greater...

  • i think it is helpful in some way
