They have already field tested using a flip down HUD attached to their helmet (8 lb system). Its the same exact thing as the radar you see in the fantastical FPS games like Modern Warfare/CoD. You can see where other comrades are via overhead map and mark locations of the enemies.

The way the armor looks like seems fake and sci-fi... and for one reason: it is a concept armor. :)

Those "squares" on the belt are nothing but props or "slots" for real equipmeent to be added later, in the real design.

@Thopter War is inevitable. No matter how hard you try, people will always disagree. The reason this is thought out ahead of time is to prevent the loss of human life. As crazy as it seems, having technology that is more deadly and efficient saves more lives than it takes preventing wars by "having the biggest stick". Even the nuclear bomb saves more lives than it takes, because it is an incentive to prevent war.

I'm not posing that our military go into battle nearly naked with a sling shot, but reliance on technology makes you dependent on said same. Systems become damaged and/or crash at the most inopportune moments. When it does, what do you do then, pray, run, surrender? Remember the KISS principle. Keep It Simple.
