East coast Rap was always about lyricism over beats. Although 2pac was is as a lyricist, and the Makaveli album showed him at his most lyrical. He was getting better. The difference is Nas was a lyrical genius before he even released his first album. Everyone in the know was waiting for him to drop the masterpiece, 'llmatic'.

You can't tell me nothing about those artists, I formed my own views through my own listening experience years ago. I was listening to everything. And there is a difference in style. Just saying.

I know it's hard to believe but back in the old days, the 80's when I was a kid listening to REAL HIP HOP, groups like PE, NWA, EPMD were hard but still sold million or more, now these cats are so whack (like Nas), they can't get barely go gold!
