    6 cylinders in V configuration (three per bank).

    As I said before, those who were in turn disenchanted with the 6-71, but still wanted a Detroit Diesel, would opt for an 8V71, 6V92 or even the 8V92. But in the '70s, before the 8V92 there was the 12V71.

    In turn, when the 6-71 was downgraded in HP as well, some operators turned to the 8V71 and 6V92.
