  • I think youv've adopted Nutnfancy's philosophy of going over 10 mins

  • Crikey! My long awaited Sebenza with Macassar Ebony inlay is siting in a postal building just down the street from me. I can't pick it up until after 1300hrs. It's driving me nuts. I went to bed at 7:pm last night. How much sleep do you think I got? Arrrg!

  • Beautiful knife! I have a large classic with leather inlays. cant put it down!

  • you shouldn't be worried about hyper extending titanium lol. its -extremely- elastic.

  • Very hard to purchase in Australia, I would love one of these!

  • Cool vid, wouldn't want anything manufactured the day after new years though lol

  • Haha! Yeah the "hangover" knife, right!? ; )

  • As long as the grinding was done before that hehe. Just joking with ya. Nice job on the video.

  • @macjmillsx ROFL

  • The umnum is cutting edge, but I think I prefer the seb with the micarta inserts.

  • been wanting a small 21/classic sebby, but not many that meet my requirements...

dude, you know what sucks about CRK? i mean, the quality is superb, but the warranty kinda sucks. to flick is to void warranty. what the crock is that? :(

  • I know what you mean. I love CRK and they are tough as well as beautiful, but if you want a knife you won't be afraid to beat and use hard and abuse a little... Strider is the only way to go!

  • that's why i went strider over CRK :)

i also have been training my left hand a lot lately, so i've been wanting a lefty sebby. preferrably clipless, because i find their clips get in the way.

  • Swinging a folding knife open will fuck shit up if done often enough. It's also less practical and requires a lot more effort than just using the thumbstud.

  • Agreed that it is considerably harder and more stressful on the knife. There are many methods of rapid deployment that can be mastered though.. and a knife like an Emerson, Strider, or Hinderer can be slammed open as much as you like and they just take it. I think CRK is strong, but the super tight tolerances may be a reason they discourage flicking it open.

  • I have seen many of your videos and this was an influence on the purchase of a seb. For me it came down to practicality. If i were being deployed tomorrow i would probably buy an smf and one of striders fixed blades. I believe after handling both the seb is more perfectly built and easier to clean and disassemble. In short i think the sebenza is purely a cutting tool and the strider is a folding prybar/tactical machine. If i had a shitload of money i'd buy a strider but the seb works now.

  • Hey great news, im ordering a chris reeve sebenza 21 this week. Thanks for all the help!

  • dude thats awsome !!

  • hey thanks alot man this helped alot. :)

  • Your welcome, my pleasure! I just got a CRK Umnumzaan too! I will be doing a full review video soon, I can tell you that I love it though!

  • Which do you like better the sebenza or the strider sng. Im doing the debate between the two myself im planning on getting one or the other after my birthday.

  • It's really gotta come down to personal preference. Both are great knives that last a lifetime. The Sebenza is elegant and smooth, the Strider is tough and rough and badass... I usually favor Striders, but have been carrying my Sebenza the last few days just as a change of pace, so I love both.. But ultimately it's gotta be your taste that decides. Example: would you prefer a Harley Davidson or a sleek crotch rocket sportbike? All comes down to taste! : ) Hope this helps a little...

  • Do you consider the finish on the blade brighter than a regular Sebenza?

  • I haven't been able to compare a regular and a classic, I would assume the blade is the same. What I do know is the micarta Sebenza has a bead blast Ti handle and stonewashed blade. It is a better working finish. The other models for the most part have a polished blade and the Ti is only blasted on the edges.

  • Yeah that's what the usual inlay Sebs are like, too pretty for EDC for most, thus why I like the micarta style, best of both worlds.

  • Great knife man!

Just ordered large Sebenza 21 micarta inlay! Used to have a small Classic 2000 micarta and I miss it, so I had to get another, but I only do large Sebs these days. Can't wait for the new 21 to arrive!

  • I don't know that nutnfancy would disapprove of the jimping. He always says that there are "two sides" to owning a knife, and one of them is just liking it. It could be something you just dig, and most of the sebenza, I think, is along those lines. Is it far superior to other knifes in a practical sense? Well, maybe better than most knifes, but not by far pragmatically superior. It's just a cool, classy looking knife that people just dig. And he "totally understands that," as he always says.

  • I think I was assessing the knife with a multirole edc/tactical blade in mind. As a gentleman's folder and general utility use blade it is amazing and the pride in ownership is very high. For a tactical defensive blade this knife may not be the best suited for the job though.

  • First I thought there're expensive. After havind problems with $100-$200 knives, especily Spyderco who makes shitty screws that broke, I think the Sebenza is worth every penny.

Now the big decision, SNG or Seb :)

What do you think about Umnumzaan?

    Cheers,

    john

  • I plan on getting an Umnum but haven't held one yet. The reviews look positive and I have been reading alot in the Chris Reeve forum at bladeforums.

As for the quality of these semi-custom knives, you have to handle one yourself to see just how good they are compared to most production offerings... Sebenza or Strider is a tough one though, Sebenza is elegant and tight, Strider is rough and tough... you gotta decide how your gonna use it and which suits your taste best! Good luck ; )

  • NutnFacncy makes some reviews at first look at the knife, that's no good. You need a few weeks to use the knife to spot the problems.

Nor instance, i don't recommend Spyderco Chinook, Lone Wolf, lots of problems with these pretty expensive knives.

I've learn that is worth getting one good and expensive knife than 3 not so good ones that broke after some use.

  • i dont like this knife at all better get William Henry knife than this

  • If you want something pretty go for it, they're well made, but not meant to be user knives. If you're thinking WH, look at the Chris Reeve Mnandi instead. I think you'll like it.

  • Nice vid. Sometimes I wish I saved up a little more and got the large micarta but my plain large 21 does me just fine for now.

  • Sweet knife bud. I recently got a plain small sebenza 21, and plan to get a large micarta as well. Wonderful knives use it and enjoy it. Cheers.

  • Thanks! I still baby it a little but I carry it every day.

  • Congratulatiosn on your sebenza purchase, I try to explain to people why tis worth the money but nothing makes sense until you get on ein your ahnd and use it as you now know...

  • Pretty cool looking knife james.

  • Thanks! I love this knife!!

  • awsome knife man

  • It took a lot of pleading with the better half before I could drop the money on this, they just don't understand!!
