  • @timlloydsmith When it comes top insults I find them not offensive but slightly clumsy. Which annoys me a lot more...If someone writes a comment that is "gay" I have a hard time seeing it as some kind of negative critique on my work...Its more like " is that the best you could come up with" ?

  • @timlloydsmith I dont really know...The only mods I have made is changing the battery holders so that they connect to "new" styled 9 volt.

  • I am really bad with electronics...I like the idea of handing someone a broken piece of equipment, giving them money and then getting a working one back...

  • @RothHandle.. Absolutely - I never see the word gay as a valid insult - and using it as such is indicative of the sad closed state of some people's minds. I too would really rather make music, than mend things that make music. I have found a tech friend to help now - sorry for asking you for help, but there's such a small knowledge base. Once it is fixed I am thinking of doing a page on it as part of a site to promote my music. If so could I link to your video? Nice talking. T :-)

  • Helpful information. Thanks.

  • @timlloydsmith You are very welcome...!

  • How much did you payed for the 350s?

  • @rafasilva1 I think it was like 150 dollars.

  • shut up and play. geez.

  • Thank you for your kind comment.

  • Hi Rothhandle,

    That's what I like to see...enthusiasm !!

Have you tried playing a stylophone through a Boss slicer pedal?

Highly recommend it !! I bought the SL20 for playing my Didges through, but then started experimenting and out came the good ol stylophone. The slicer works best with a continuous sound, so the stylophone is perfect for it.

Cheers for the video.. I think I could be tempted to a 350s, but my wife would kill me !!

  • Thank you...I just checked out the slicer and it looks interesting but one can do similar stuff with the electribe so Ill have to wait until they turn up on the used market...

...and yes you need a 350s.

  • Aaahhh... just the man to ask a question about Electribes then???

I've been thinking about getting an electribe and I've been watching them on ebay, but there's so many different models, er1,ea1,erm mkII, ESX etc etc..

Whats the differences between them , do you know? I basically want something to give me tweakable beats, that I can play in myself, rather than just using a sample.

    Waddya reckon?

    Cheers,

    Gareth

  • Hey hey...

Sorry to hear about the lost 350s...

Of course we can exchange discs...

    Take care,

    Mattias

  • I've got one too, I love it!!! There's another cool feature to it, using reiteration you hold down two notes at the same time with the right stylus to the left hand side of the keyboard and the left stylus to the right hand side it'll alternate between the two notes! It sounds amazing!

I've got a video of me playing a Zelda medley with it on my channel if your interested! I also use it with my band but I don't have any videos of that sadly!

I also enjoyed your orchestron videos btw!

  • Hey hey,

    Thank you for the tip...!

    and thanks for watching...

    Best regards,

    Mattias

  • It's nice to find someone who is so passionate about the Stylophone. Such a fun instrument. I'd love the 350S model, especially for the light sensitive vibrato sensor.

  • I cant help rooting for the musical underdog and it is actually quite useful !

  • Cameraman: Michael J. Fox:-)

Interesting video though, but I would so much like to see/hear the photo wah/volume stuff - could you do another video on that?

  • If a song comes up where Ill be using it....of course.

Thank you for watching and commenting.

  • wicked. I'd love to get my hands on a 350s. Great video.

  • Thank you for watching...The 350s is great ! Have you checked ebay ?

  • I'm dying to get one of these! How much did it cost?

  • Around 200 dollars a couple of years ago...I have njo Idea how much it would be now. It was New when I bought it with, booklets, instruction records and all...

  • Hey Roth,

Thanks for this, it's about the only video that really showcases the 305s. Great job.

I have a coupla questions- are you running the unit from 2 x PP9 batteries or from a 12V adapter? If from 12V adapter, where do you connect it?

And on the smaller stylophones, there is an Amplifier Output on the left - can you plug in headphones? If yes, does it cut out the sound from the onboard speaker when headphones are jacked in?

    Thanks man.

  • er I meant 350s (instead of 305s)

  • oh er and hi Mattias, or Roth?

  • That would be Mattias...

  • Hey Mattias,

Thanks! Just wondering, how does the PHOTO CONTROL work on it? Does it work at all?

  • It works pretty good on the filter...surpisingly well actually come to think of it...

  • O.k here we go...

We rebuilt the 350s so it runs on two ordinary 9v batteries. Very simple...

On the smaller Stylophones I think you can plug in headphones...and yes it cuts the speaker...

    you are very welcome...

  • Nice video Matthias! To adapt your 350s to run on regular 9v batteries, did you simply replace the old PP9 size connectors with smaller ones?

  • Yes...I think we just butchered trhe old connectors...I tried to hunt down the other batteries but I finally gave up...

  • Yes...that is what we did...and it worked great. But I cant guarantee that it will work for you...

  • I found batteries via Google in various websites but mostly abroad, so the shipping costs too much. Have just found a local supplier so will try them but eventually I'll have to do what you did. Thanks Matthias!

  • Yeah...I see what you mean...I gave up on finding batteries and rebuilt the thing. Keep me posted on developments...! And have a great weekend...!

  • Great little video, Very informative and interesting. I HAVE to find a 350S now.

    Thanks.

  • I think you should and good luck on your quest ! It really is great...I am not sure how much they cost now but check ebay. I think due to the current ecoonomic situation prices probably have dropped a bit...People are starting to get rid of their extre weird equipment...

It will take a bit longer until people start selling their mini moogs.

  • his lisp is annoying. sorry dude.

  • Thank you for your kind comment ! Rock on dude !
