After the '87 Brewers started 12-0, they went 8-3 to start 20-3. Ironically, they would then lose their next 12 games and eventually dropped to 42-43 at the All-Star break. But a strong rest of July, August, & September helped by Paul Molitor's 39 game hitting streak saw the Brewers go 49-28 to finish (91-71) in 3rd place, 7 games behind the 1st place Tigers. On July 26, 1987, I was at County Stadium and witnessed Paul Molitor steal 2nd, 3rd, & home all in the same inning. You can look it up.
