Let me clear this up.

For the PS2 version of RE4:

In order to unlock the Chicago Typewriter on story mode,

You must first beat the game,

Then,

You must beat the "separate ways" minigame,

on your next playthrough, the chicago typewriter will be availlable to buy from the merchant for 1,000,000 ptas

Okay, when you tried to play through again, did you start a NEW GAME? or did you LOAD your PREVIOUS SAVEGAME?

Because a common mistake people make is they start a whole new save file altogether. and that will fuck it up. you need to load your old savefile and play through again. if this does not work i can't help you sorry

I can get the Handcannon in after 4 Hours =) it's easy for me because i play resident evil alot if you play resident evil alot you'll be much better everyone else can do that =)
