For me the surprise as a total Keef head is that KR is playing a Telecaster with a lipstick pickup in the neck position. The guitar does not appear in any of the KR guitar websites that I know of.
All that bashing is stupid. Personally I think that the bass solo by Darryl Jones deserves the video itself. Okay, Mick sounds more 'standard' than in the past and Keef + Ronnie don't sound exactly as in the original, but the performance is consistent, not like in the 70s, when they had really ugly performances recorded if you listen to some boots.
@gregjay11 well, does not look to me like this one is any worse.
Daryl Jones has been playing for people like Miles Davis and Sting, not the first you meet along the street, and certainly artists that are extremely demanding for drums and bass parts.
Man the version from ya yas is sooo much better. the intro is better the structure is better the leads are better vocals etc. it so much energy. Mick and the boys need to listen to that album again and recapture that sound. basically the gibson sound fenders suck balls for rock n roll sorry just my humble opinion
This beats Ya Yas but, Johnny Lang probably needs work. Ronnie (Love in Vain), please retire. This tune should rip the ass out of a 10th Avene whore, has it all, but Woody missed. Id bet there are quite a few other 2nd guitarists out there who could pull much better out of Mick and Keith. Stones very best tune.
so the agreement between the team is a great concert are very focused on work and hear the effect .... This is the essence of the Rolling Stones at their best, we see in this picture and hear the applause rolling stonses
Its great that they pull alot of songs out of the trunk that they ignored in the 70s and 80s. The arrangement is interesting. A bit too contemporary for me. Would have preferred the more bluesy approach. But hey its there song. Thanks for post. Great video and audio quality!
Right! That's the way it goes.... I mean with those wild girls...
Now I'll sink deep in my couch with a glass of wine and one easy smoke....just to get the wibes out of "Citadel" and "We love you" - and I'll play them loud.............;)
@Gene591 Right on! Big fan of the balls it took to sing the line "13 years old." Don't forget about her friend who was "wilder" than her. She could join them upstairs . . .
actually, the slow (studio) version was the truist, it was a great march in it's original form!

Daryl is a great bass player but there's no place for a bass solo in this (or mostly any other) song and this is a Glimmer Twins mistake

@gregjay11 I tend to agree with you 100%. In addition, and not least, I would mention that this blues without Mick Taylor is just empty.
Sorry, also my humble opinion

3'05 'Love stray cats Keith and Ron attacking Daryl...
They always appeared to me like wild cats when taking their territory as walking on stage.
It is good to have the Stones going back to their "non politically correct" song (Sister morphine, also).
