back in the 70's there was still a 6 cylinder engine available for a challenger, so was that not considered a muscle car either? yeah that's what i thought. it's a v6, it's not supposed to sound like a v8 or an i4, that's how a 6 cylinder sounds, go get a v8 if you don't like it, but don't hate on sports cars!
You cant put a sport tuning exhaust on any challenger it wont sound like a muscle car anymore just leave as is with its original mufflers and exhaust theres a reason why they're called all American muscle.
i would think over the year the v-6's would somehow sound nicer. my mom used to have a 2002 firebird with a flowmaster catback and it sounded the same as the current mustang v-6 not so much the 2011 cause that sounds like the Z series now. but it sounded like the 4.0 v6 mustang the new challenger SE and the camaro v6. i guess it would have to sound the same as the camaro cause its the same damn car. haha
that sounds horrendous ... i wasnt looking when the vid started and i was suprised to see a challenger not a civi.......never been a fan of MBRP no offences ...lol lots of ppl will chirp tho seeing i run cherry bomb exhausts on my trucks.
@ttunde As with any exhaust system, the length of time is different with every install. Our technicians say a span of two hours is an adequate amount of time.
@camaroman101 Well, please look into our new video going live later today for the 2010 Dodge Challenger. We have totally redesigned the system utilizing our new tuning tubes to get a 60's muscle car sound out of a 6.1L beauty.
Sadly a Civic would rape the Challenger SE, The Challenger's V-6 has less power then in comparison, the Camaro's V-6, yet is 200+ pounds heavier, the only way the Challenger SHOULD be sold is with a V-8.
Of course the V-8 is the preferred engine in the Dodge Challenger. Thanks for stating the obvious.
What I will say is that a v6 Challenger is a more desirable vehicle than a 140 hp Honda Civic. Even the 197 hp Civic SI does not come close to matching the output of Chrysler's trusty 3.5 HO. Before you make such silly accusations you should pull your head out of your own ass. I can also see that you removed your comment. Hindsight is 20/20.
@th3ha1og0d To be absolutely fair a Honda Predule from 1994 would destroy the Challenger V6. People like you tend to often forget the difference in between weights, heck even the Mustang is almost 400lbs lighter than the Challenger.
No it wouldn't. I know how much the car weighs. For future reference, I understand that the Mustang is lighter than the Challenger. But to say a Honda Civic would "destroy" a Challenger, and even saying a Prelude would "destroy" a Challenger v6 is just ridiculous.
People like me know a little more about cars than people like you.
@th3ha1og0d my point was pretty clear, a V-6 in a muscle-car body that weighs 4,000lbs curb weight, is an absolute joke, some people can't seem to take the generalization of that idea, To make it even more clear for you, I was stating the Challenger in V-6 trim, was, and is, a joke. Not trying to offend a high and mighty rice trasher :D
The v6 version weighs 3800 lbs, not 4000 lbs so let's get that out of the way.
What's more of a joke is somebody who owns a Toyota of all things trying to bash a Dodge Challenger. You own a Toyota which speaks volumes for your own idiocy.
@th3ha1og0d First of kiddo, I love the Dodge Challenger, I'll be buying one next year, so get your facts straight, I was saying the V-6 is a joke and does not belong in a Challenger. Second off, I can see your one of the ill-informed who hates foreign, regardless of how proven it is, that's cool too, it's always fun to be ignorant.
The v-6 is far from a joke. It's a very good engine for someone who wants the styling of the Challenger but doesn't want to pay extra fuel costs and insurance associated with the v8.
The only joke is the 4 liter v6 in your FJ Cruiser. Now that is a POS engine. At least you're making the right choice and moving to an AMERICAN vehicle.
Toyota, as of late, has been reinforcing its stance as a disgraceful company by continually spewing out bullshit products & propaganda.
Also I'd like to know who you think is informing me about foreign vehicles. I have no problem with certain foreign vehicles, but it is the Japanese auto makers which disgust me, especially Toyota. Anyways, like I said before, you're the one driving an FJ Cruiser. You might want to think about that, and let it sink in before you decide to shit talk a far superior vehicle.
@th3ha1og0d Calling you "kiddo" because you didn't have the general intelligence to gather that I love the Challenger, yet was only saying the V-6 version was bad, which I made clear, many times. Mind telling me the issue with Toyota, as it's news to me, and I have had zero problems with my loaded out FJ. I had a Dodge Durango previously, and it was a piece of crap, the only Dodge I'd consider or Chrysler product, is the Challenger, feel free to lay down why the FJ is bad though :)
I love this anecdotal bullshit you bring up. The Challenger, in ANY trim level, is a far better vehicle than what you're currently driving, and you evidently know so because of your admittance to the fact that you're in the market for a Challenger.
The FJ Cruiser is UGLY, SLOW, and OVERPRICED. And since you brought in location of manufacture, I'll be the first to point out that your FJ is built in Japan, as well as CHINA of all places.
@th3ha1og0d Also, you might wanna look up where your current car was made, if it was Dodge, it was more than likely in either A. Canada, or B. Mexico, Challengers are mainly made on Canada. It's silly when people are like "I only buy American" but in reality their car isn't even remotely American, I find it extremely cute with Chevrolet fans.
I live in Canada 2 hours away from the fuckin plant that builds the LX cars, including my 300. My 2 CTS's were built in Lansing Michigan and my Caravan built in Windsor (where my family works). Don't question my motives on buying Chrysler products dickhead.
Also, Challengers are made in Canada period. Not "mainly" made in Canada.
@th3ha1og0d " Don't question my motives on buying Chrysler products" but then you try and bash Toyota which has a reputation of quality above 30x Chrysler, don't question my choice of a vehicle if you don't want your choice questioned, dickhead.
@th3ha1og0d So your buddy had a freak accident, you want me to point out the countless ones with Chrysler products? The fact is Toyota has an outstanding safety record and reliability record, sorry that it's so hard to "take in"
I didn't say he was my buddy cockwad, and I was trying to prove a point (which you so scholarly haven't figured out yet).
CAN YOU SAY "BLIND BITCH"?
Have you been in a deep dark hole lately? Toyotas "quality" went to shit after the public was made aware of the DISGUSTING accident caused by POOR ENGINEERING & DESIGN.
If killing innocent people means top quality, Toyota is #1
Now that you're bleeding out I'm gonna go TAKE MY CHRYSLER 300 which was manufactured in Brampton, Ontario, CANADA to the Tim Horton's and grab a COFFEE & some PASTRIES.
Maybe you should take a break (I know you're sweating and coughing up blood). Hell, maybe you should take a tour of the plant that builds your FJ CRUISER IN CHINA, to see first hand what goes into making such a FINE vehicle with excellent QUALITY.
Sorry to break it to you, the FJ Cruiser is the (ONLY) Toyota made in Japan, that's right, Japan, not China, Toyota's factories for the rest of their fleet is based throughout the U.S. and Mexico and Canada. However you seem to not be able to comprehend the difference between "China" and "Japan" which single handily shows your utmost stupidity. You drive a Chrysler 300c, great, so does every black person that lives where I live. Welcome to the norm. Cheap car, being canceled next year :)
@govbricktop You are calling me a tard why? Because you can't catch on to the entire point of the conversation? R/T more than likely, drove the SRT-8 as well, very marginal difference in power\speed, I hardly noticed a difference. If I got the SRT-8 I'd be buying it used, where as if I get the R/T I'll be getting it brand new. I also prefer the R/T's ability to shut off 4 cylinders when cruising on the highway, which makes it get double my FJ's v6 mpg.
@ShityThePirate Just remember to get the multi-displacement you HAVE to get the automatic, unless that's changed this year, I haven't looked in a while. Me personally, I'd rather have the manual trans. Oh and an fyi, you mentioned in your conversation with th3ha1og0d that everyone drives the V6 300C. There is no such thing, the C designates the model with the Hemi, all others are just the "300" model.
@goattke Pretty hard to tell them apart, and my point is they are the black choice of car around here, that and the Charger mainly. If you get a manual then you have a extra high gear which eliminates in reality, the need for MDS on the highway, just shift it 6th gear and you'll get better mpg than the Auto with MDS, easily.
@ShityThePirate You wouldn't happen to be from Indiana would you? It seems like the 300 is the black car of choice around here too. And you're right, it is kinda hard sometimes to tell them apart unless you're right up on them and see the little "c" on the badge. Yeah, the 6 speed on the Challenger does get the same or better gas mileage then the mds. oh well, i prefer diesels myself, but i DO like the retro look muscle cars
@yesireallyhateyou lol no this is the se model for people who want the look w/o the performance...this is the V6 engine..the V8 r/t and srt8 muscle models are still available

1. The 06, 07, and 08 FJ Cruisers were made only in Japan.
2. What about Lexus? That's one vehicle maker that I never hear complaints about, and check out on every customer survey...much like Toyota...:D
3. I wouldn't be a fan of owning a stereotypical car, besides, 300c is not my style, it's a fine car, but everyone drives one, and the V-6 at that.
4. I'm amazed people still believe that Fiat will be redesigning around 8 cars for Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep. Alfa Romeo ring a bell?

I love that 30x figure. You must know your shit.
Why did a Lexus ES350 accelerate uncrontrollably and kill a family of four? Why did the very same thing happen with a Toyota Camry only months after?
If that's quality, then Toyota is #1.
Why did Toyota not have any safety picks in 2010 IIHS testing? Even the lowly Chrysler had vehicles selected as top safety picks.
If that's quality, Toyota wins (they also suck more money out of your wallet too)
