being a musician is about expression, but this era has lost all meaning of creativity....it's all about your persona, they care about what you look and act like during your performance(and how "crazy" it sounds....the "crazy" parts are mind numbingly easy quad fills that musicians throw in when their mind goes blank!) once you reach a certain level there is NO drummer better than you, and there is no drummer that you are better then....it's all a matter of preference from that point on!

@xxxslayerxxx666 Honestly, that's not entirely true. You can find a ton of modern music that is actually good and creative. It's just hard to find since you have to pick through all the bullshit, which I understand isn't easy to do. Take the bands like Interpol, Modest Mouse, Tokyo Police Club, Title Fight, or even Bright Eyes for example. Interpol actually didn't care about the shit that most did. They left Capitol records since they were trying to control their music.

and that's a hard concept for a lot of people, they will think "well of course there has to be ONE person who has more talent than everyone else" but only when you become a TRUE musician would you be able to understand....i can do a few things that this guy can't(and that's not bragging that's PRACTICE, he would have to practice it a few days to get it) i can play clapping music(which is a feat in itself to do solo since it's made for 2 people) but i can now play ostinato's along with it!

i'm not denying his talent, he is EXTREMELY talented, but i'm saying he hasn't the SLIGHTEST bit of originality at all....if you flame me that's because you only listen to the radio(i don't understand how people can listen to the same songs OVER AND OVER again...then next year listen to the same new hits over and over, year after year following what's hip)i'm not narrow minded, i acknowledged this guys obvious talent, the least others could do is learn to accept that there is no BEST drummer!
