i agree with ixsikxwitxit.. it made me sooo proud to hear the whole stadium chanting USA!! americans should be grateful.. we live in the country that ppl literally die to get in
Well, it's nice to know that the people of China held their boos for the actual team. It is not what I expected.
You have no idea how much it meant to me as an American to hear the cheers for the U.S. during the opening ceremony from home; it was awesome! Our image is tarnished throughout the world, but, it is very delightful to see and hear the Chinese people holding such regard for the American citizenry themselves.
China has moved up a spot in a lot of American minds!
What you have said is not true at all. It is only among the far-left mainstream media HERE in the U.S. that our image is purportedly tarnished. Having done extensive traveling of late, the vast majority of the rest of the world (the lunatics in the Middle East excepted) loves the U.S. and Americans. It is the hypocritical Marxist left-wing liberals in the U.S. who hate this country and what it stands for.
While I consider myself a Conservative, I am not beyond acknowledging that President Bush has failed this country, and a majority of the world believes that as well.
The media does significantly over-hype it, and whether you are supporter of President Bush or not, it doesn't require very much intellect to realize that President Bush is not liked very much throughout the world. Before you start labeling me as something that I most certainly not, you might want to think twice about what you say.
And I believe you're not paying very much attention to the fact that the U.S. government specifically is not held in very high regard throughout the world. The citizenry are (which is good), but sadly, our government is not held in high regard. Whether you or I approve of the government or not, it is easy for us to both realize this. These are the confines in which I speculated.
Those who discredit the U.S. government abroad are typically those who believe that our government should adopt a generally socialist agenda with free medical care for all, more government handouts, etc. Think Obama. To say that President Bush is generally disliked around the world is simply incorrect. However, with the very powerful American liberal media daily pounding him, what the Nazis realized has come true--"if you repeat a lie often enough, it will generally become regarded as true"
