  • palestine, texas is right up the road from me...nice little town....however relating to the video, John performance A+ as always...not completely sold on T-bone though, not so nice.

  • I'm ambivalent about this song, but there's not many good videos of T-Bone Burnett on YouTube.

  • I'm not ashamed it is just pronounced incorrectly in this song

  • @katies101 Yeah but "Palestine" the country is spoken as "Palesteeen" in the middle-east.

The texas town was named after the middle eastern region of "Palestine"

  • @AlexKsak actually we were named after a town in Illinois so nope you're wrong

  • @katies101 Lol sorry if you can't admit it but your town and the one in Illinois are named after the middle eastern region of Palestine. The name has a strong biblical connotation as that region was called Palestine since the roman conquest more than 2000 years ago. It was called Palestine in Jesus' time and that is way the name is important in Christian tradition. Of course because of our governments absolute support for Israel today we tend to deny any link like that. But it is a fact.

  • @AlexKsak Actually to be absolutely correct the name of that region during Jesus' time was "Syriae Palesteana".

The "ea" then evolved to "i" but it is still pronounced "eee".

  • @AlexKsak Palestine is the Roman name for Ancient Israel. We don't say "USA" in Hebrew we say "Artzot HaBrit".Does our translation change your Federal Status?Kingdom of Israel was started 2800 years ago.The Romans occupied all of the Land of Israel 2070 years ago. With or without your government's support we entered the Land 3300 years ago with Joshua.America supports Egypt with more money than we get.All the Arab countries are supported militarily, economically, politically by USA.

  • Oh my days there are some morons from Texas, it's called word play.

  • @Jayisonfire don't think all of us are dumb... i find it rather comical that people haven't a clue about what makes things ART. ha ha ha

  • @BMcCool90 Well i did only say 'some' so i think thats fair, their are some morons from every where though i guess! haha

  • @Jayisonfire they're* irony ftw

  • ok people, he is playing with the name Palestine. He's from Texas, he knows how it is pronounced. He's creatively using the name to make it fit in the song.

  • SO GROOVY!!!!!

  • Does anybody know the name of T bone's guitar?

  • @DEACONTIME it looks like an old National Newport.

  • gosh damnt dude really i was fuckinng raised is palestine or palesteen pronounce it righht ass hole

  • palesteeeen is the little country city in East Texas...not palest "INE" which is a war zone between the jews and the muslims....I don't even think we had any jews live in Palestine when I grew up there...lol

  • @katies101 come on , you re Palestinian Texans . Don t be ashamed it s the birth place of Jesus

  • @katies101 I know a nation that are 51 occupied states.USA.

  • lol yup pronounced palesteen!!! lol

  • This makes me laugh. I was raised in Palestine, Texas, and it's pronounced Pale-STEEN, not STINE. Joker needs to do some research!

  • Presidents come and presidents go

they rise like smoke they fall like snow...

It's the perfect song for the third Snake Plisken movie.

When you crawl out of this self delusion

You're going to need a soul transfusion

    Escape From Earth

  • I can't even take him seriously since he's mispronouncing the name. Do a little research first!

  • Pretty sure that's Carla Azar (Autolux, PJ Harvey & John Parish, Sam Phillips), and yeah...she's AMAZING.

  • goth chick on percussion, I love you

  • When people see I'm from "Palestine" they think I'm a terrorist. This song doesn't help me out in the least.

  • Awesome!

  • silly words and thin vocals but rippin grooves

  • sweet nasty tone

  • Gawd he is miss pronouncing "Palestine" UUUUHHHH !!!! That is my home town and we give EVERYONE a dirty look when they say Palestine like that.

  • @TrevorFillip

T Bone can pronounce it any way he pleases. And the dirty lookers of Palestine, TX can eat his shorts.

  • @FungusMossGnosis hey fuckwad, how would you like it if everyone pronounced your name wrong everytime they said it?! Thats how it makes us feel!

  • @TrevorFillip yeah i know right!?!? PALESTEEEEN!!!! NOT FUCKING PALESTIIIINE!!! Hell they pronounce it wrong evertime they talk bout AD during a game to. I wanna jump through the TV and punch the announcer lmao

  • @gnherrntn hey trev! haha...its Stephen lol

  • @gnherrntn Be happy .In this PALESTEEEEEEEEEN! No check-points , no crazy settlers , no soldiers in arms everywhere and NO OCCUPATION

  • @TrevorFillip you're misspelling mispronouncing, but no one seems to bitch at you for being illiterate.

  • Its hard to define the "worst ever song" I've ever heard but this competes with a song written on a similar vein the big hit "Eve of Destruction" by Barry McQuire 1965,which I remember at age 12 as being done in poor taste.

  • @RasMajnouni What? Eve of Destruction is a great song!!!

    youtube.com/watch?v=ntLsElbW9Xo

  • its the first time i know that there is another palestine on earth otherwise real palestine = holly land vs israel O.O

  • Just too damn cool for network tv

  • ahhh, give the mconaway dork a break. He's probably a Journey/REO Speedwagon/Styx type fan.

  • Goddamn, John Mayer is a pretty good guitarist.

  • and Jim Keltner on Drums!!!

  • This is the worst fucking thing I've ever heard. This guy just throws together every rhyming word he can think of and none of it makes sense. What kind of audience is this guy shooting for, because white people aren't going to like him but neither are black people because he looks like a huge poser...

  • @mconaway002

Guess who wrote all the songs for "Crazy Heart"

And guess who picked the soundtrack for the Big Lebowski?

I'm sure he's done much more... but...

    Cry some more.

  • @mconaway002 hahahahahahahahaaha

    you sir, are hilarious

  • @mconaway002 if thats your opinion...fine. but here are people who really enjoy his music so just shut the fuck up, because no one cares what you have to say. what i mean is, I don't watch a video of miley cyrus and post a comment on how much I hate her. thats just dumb and doesn't get anyone anywhere.

  • @WretchedArt first of all, i wasn't searching for this dude just to comment about how much he sucks. i searched for palestine... and this is what i got. and since i live here, i think i'm a pretty good judge of how well this guy represents palestine or texas for that matter. so you both can suck it.

  • @mconaway002

At least John Mayer did work.

  • Yeah I grew up in P-town-I think that he is just doing a play on pronunciation. Political comments here are pointless- Its pronounced PalestEEN, Adrian Peterson is known nationally as being from here....To the residents, P-town is at present most burdened by methamphetamines-and ex-convict "christians" trying to present themselves in a way that makes them hireable. Wordplay-thats all. He's smart to poke fun at the retards here.. Go NFL.

  • great

  • WOW......just WOW!!!!!!!! Roy Orbison is back, only better....Who knew John Mayer could play like that....

  • @mustangTNT I been made fun of many a time for saying how great a guitarist John Mayer is. He has heavy influence from Stevie Ray Vaughan and went to Berkley in Boston to study. Hes a true guitar player at heart but knows how to make hits and millions.

  • This is very cool.

  • Hendrix re-incarnate!!!

  • likes this kind of guitar rage

  • Keltner dammit.

  • Greatest thing to ever happen on the shitty Leno show

  • Great producer. He knows how to capture that

magic in the studio. Check out the album he

produced with Robert Plant and Alison Krause

  • good song but i think johnmayer makes the song a bit way better.

  • Great song, but I've lived in Palestine for 15 years and I agree with Pokerguy he is pronouncing it wrong.Lol like I said good song, but prolly should have done a lil more research into it.

  • political idiot, musical genius. this song is the stand out from the album. john and that guitar...wow

  • greetings from Palestine, middle east ;)

  • Yeah it's Palesteeen and a Texan should know better.

  • you try writing those lyrics, making them rhyme and rhythm like that, then criticize.

  • Excellent..i think i heard abot T-Bone on Scorsese's The blues.Five Stars

  • Thing is, the entire album has this kind of feel to it, except one track... I can't remember the name as of right now. But he's INSANE. I LOVE his music. especially this album.

  • dissappointment i expected something more rythmic and beutiful and lyrical from t-bone burnett just sadness

  • Silent Bob is really good on keys.

  • @mashtones hahahahahaha

  • I can't believe that I've never seen this one! Thanks for sharing!!

  • Fabulous!! Thank you!

    Intense! Love this.

    5*

  • I love this! I'm not a John Mayer fan generally speaking, but the man CAN play some guitar!!

  • That was damn good.

Mayer killed that second solo though. I might just replay this video right now.

  • T Bone Burnett is awsome, check out some of his other songs on the cd ''True False Identity'' If you like Palestine, you will love Zombieland!

  • The groove is nasty.

I love that sound at 0:12.

  • Dude... this is good enough to leave undiscovered.

I like the Joe line: Joe wasn't slow but didn't know how to blow all the dough from the show.

Awe hell, the entire song is thick!

  • sick ass groove

  • amen, txnbug! Love this though!

  • palesteeeeeeeeeen Texas to you there and if you were actually FROM there you would not be disgracing us that ARE

  • Do all Texans think there is only one way to pronounce every word? There is a slight chance he was juxtaposing Palestine in the Middle East with the southern states...

  • Comment removed

  • @MrHistoryguy67 cool a live in palestine

  • @MrHistoryguy67 I love how you justified remarks about Texans with your last sentence. BTW, there's a difference between "your" and "you're".

  • Comment removed

  • this is fucking sick.
