I remember the time I built my very first desktop computer in 2000, it was an Intel 800 Mhz, 256 MB RAM, Geforce 2 MX, 80 GB machine! Wow...those were good times. Its been a while...time to save money and build a badass latest desktop PC. :-)
Has anyone mentioned benchtesting the Mobo out of the case yet. This will tell you right away that it works with your CPU-RAM-Video setup and you can set your BIOS (Flash it to latest version as well). 10 points for courage to try.
Hi my name is Scott. I picked a pc over a girlfriend. I'm 40 and still live at home. I failed grade 1 and later dropped out of grade 2. I still pee my pants and fart in public. I pretend i'm gay so people won't think there is something wrong with me. I stole all this stuff from Tiger Direct. I used to work there you know. I'm making a top of the line pc that will be obsolete in 6 months. I will be using this pc for gaming/porn/watching movies. I hope to one day grow all my hair back.
guys what ever you do dont do what he did sit on the carpet to build because it will fry the motherboard because of all the static thumbs this up so peole will know
@PandaThermal you need a psu,cpu,graphics card,memory,cd/dvd drive,case,motherboard and hard drive.
you can obviously add extra things if you want, but those 8 things are what you need to start with.you dont really need a sound card because your motherboard should have one intergrated.
@PandaThermal oh yeah, and one more thing.some cpu's dont come with cooling.so if you get one that doesnt come with a fan, youll obviously need to buy one, because cpu's get extremely hot so you need cooling for it.
Whats the point of putting all expensive components together and calling a video how to build a gaming computer? i would be impressed if you overclocked something to get a 2x more performance on a low end pc, not just buy new components and put them together. you don't have to be a smartass to put components together, jeeeeeeeez!
@BorisKnoT the one who doesn't know how to build a computer can watch this video a couple of times and then know hot to build one... dont comment if you dont like it
Hey dude i love your pc building videos , just awesome ;)
these are the parts me and my mate are going to use when were building a gaming pc:processer: intel core i7 2600 3.4Ghz , motherboard : ASrock H67M , case: coolermaster HAF 922red (midtower) graphic: gigabyte GEforce GTX 460 1GB, RAMs corsair 4gb (2x2048mb) , powersupply: OCZ StealthXStream 2 700w
plus the OS wich is windows 7 and the dvd writer. will that be a good gaming computer you think??
@MrNisse77 My proposed setup is almost identical to yours, but I'm using an Intel i5-2500K, an ASUS P8P67 motherboard and an EVGA 1GB GTX 460. I think this will run fine, in my opinion you'll get 35fps at the very minimum on most games. What's your hard drive transfer rate, and the RAM bus speed?
@MrNisse77 those look pretty good.. :) but I meant the hard drive transfer rate, for example 6Gbs(gigabits) per second or 400Mbs(megabits) per second (not GB or MB, a capital B means bytes, a small b means bits)
Just a friendly reminder....He is on a carpet; static electricity thrives in a carpet. Perhaps there is high humidity where he lives, but for safety's sake, he should be wearing a grounded wristband (not expensive) to ground himself from the unfortunate event of ruining the delicate and expensive parts of his computer components. This is a basic consideration. CPUs upwards of $1K for a really good one.
@jorge12app theres a lot actually u need to consider when building a gaming cmputer annd a lot comes down to how much money you hav to spend and what it is you need to do to have a nice system. You dont have to start from scratch, you can work with what you have.
@jorge12app Lol im assuming this dude has plenty of disposable income to play with some hes buying some premium stuff. You can play benchmark games well with sometimes jst a few simple upgrades costing less than $300
@bloc22 well i would go with antec 900 case i would run i7 965 cpu on asus p62 motherboard with a nvidia 295GTX video card get a thermaltake 700w power supply and i always use western digital hard drives i recommend using a western digital cavier black 500gb thats what i have and its very good and i would use g skill sniper ram it would freakin scream lolz
I love my Gaming build just built her about 6-7 months ago, got an asus mobo, 3 gb ram, 2 140 HDD, a 4350, 450 watt PsU, and im currently running it in a RAIDMAX TORNADO CASE, Which i love cause it keeps all my hardware at a cool 29-30c thats PERFECT for ME!!!
it IS nice... but the question you should ask: shal it be quiet? because: most new Graphicscards get real loud at gaming high-graphics games... and also: is the PRICE of matter? if yes then the radeons mainly are the better choice as they cost WAY less than a geforce, but also: you might want to compare ram bus frequencies and bus widths(multiply busxfrequence to get the total Bit per second travel) as the radeons always only have 256bit-bus and the geforces have wider... (GTX 460 is also good;))
@xXREDHEAD93Xx how would this graphics card be bro? SAPPHIRE 100315L Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity. Im looking to build a gaming pc
i'm looking at building myself a gameing desktop computer, if i used the latest and greatest of parts, how long of a lifespan would the system see before it would be outdated?
It's a really good gaming PC for 2008. I'm also making one, it has: CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 555 AM3 (3.2Ghz) BOARD: Asus M4A785T-M GRAPHIC CARD: Powercolor ATI HD5770 Play 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E RAM: Gskill DDR3 PC12800 Ripjaws 4GB HARD DRIVE: Seagate 500GB SATA II 7200.12 DVD: LG 22x DVD-RW GH22NS50 Preto Bulk CASE: Asus TA-K52 POWER SUPLY: LC Power Green Power 550W MONITOR: LG W1943S It will cost me 628,30€ wich is U.S.$ 831,18 I dont need the Case or the Monitor so it will be 365.50€ (U.S.$ 483.52)
"Oh.. and this is important.. Five Hour Energy Drink... Wash it down with some RedBull.." You'll be awake for a day dude! Might as well build my comp too :D
hey u noe i just found out tht motherboard can be a very good weapon.. example when you are building your commputer then someone breaks into your house... u can just use the back of the motherboard and scratch him..
help. I'm new to building PCs. And from what i've seen, placing the parts together seems like a piece of cake. My problem is compatibility. Well its impossible to answer unless its the owner. It was expensive at the time although i can't give you an exact figure, now its a relatively cheap build.
@nickpwnyou maybe he is a computer loving porn star, who just so hapens to have enough money for all these parts, how does this man do it "wink wink" jk but really how does he afford this.

All I know is that you need CPU,motherboard, memory(ram),case, graphics card.
I am unsure about sound card and video card and DVD drive or whatever.
