@cheesenugget38 his right hand technique is really good, probably because he was partly classically trained. You want to keep your fingers tucked in, and move your wrist as little as possible. The key is to be efficient with your movements. There's nothing wrong with picking differently than this, but it looks ugly and wastes more of your energy. By the way, his left hand technique is also perfect haha

If you were a guitar player you'd know that he joined Megadeth because he gets to play Friedman's (challenging and awesomely melodic) solos as opposed to taking a backseat to Loomis. Friedman's phrasing is sickly original and if Mustaine could actually play it, he would. Chris must have a lot of patience...not to change the subject, but dave mustaine sure is an asshole.
