I didn't realize Carnahan directed until just before I saw it. He's a pretty good filmmaker. Narc and Smokin' Aces were awesome well made movies with similar dark tones, but The Grey is amazing.
After the credits liam neeson's head is lying on the alpha wolf's stomach and they are both breathing heavy for like 5 seconds...so you don't really know who wins...i think it is just a more in depth, poetic type ending showing that liam did all that he could and that til the end, live or die, he gave his all, his one last good fight that he'll ever know...into the fray.
@ilove2phuk remember how in the beginning of the movie when he shoots the wolf and he just has it's hand on it and it just focusing on the breathing and how it ends well it's like that except with the alpha wolf they just focus on it on the ground breathing for like 5 seconds
@TranceGenius It wasn't "perfect" but it certainly left alot to the imagination, and was really the only way they COULD'VE ended it because if they showed him fighting the wolf, it would've lost all the built up drama and sadness that it was trying to develop and just turn into a knuckle-busting ending, which is probably whats so great about the ending, it doesn't need to show what happens because the meaning behind the poem, the plot, and the characters personality even, tells you whats next.

Was a great movie. Very inspirational. Ironically, this will inspire me to fight and give all that I've got against the white men, their japanese wives, zionists, hispanics, and all of my other enemies when the race war breaks out.
@CineWeekly Yes, but I like it without the "ON" better - it has more gravity to it. To me, the "ON" kills the flow. Without it there is more punch to "this day."
I wish it meant, die but dont die without a fight.

so it is "and" not "or" we get that... but why do the posters say "or"? does anyone know?
kcraven25 2 weeks ago
@kcraven25 because he dies in the movie at the end with the wolf and if they didn't say or it would have gave away the ending, i'm just guessing

@kcraven25 probably had it read to the writer and misunderstood the words.

@mezzoking7 - I think it's that they're both going out together. Both alpha's.

@OldLightMedia if you want to put it simply then , yes, it is. But I feel that the scene means a bit more. I hope at least.
