Aeronca Champ on Floats Takes off from Dolly on Grass Strip

This is awesome. I was at KAWO in March of 1988, helping a guy get his Cessna Bird Dog floatplane ready for its first flight. It was on its dolly, we preflighted it, took it to Runway 11 and the plane lifted off...then the engine died. It veered off to the grassy side, landed on the step and nosed over onto its back. The entire plane was a total loss. Cause: the mechanics didn't drain the tanks. We hauled the hulk back to the hangar on its dolly after uprighting it.
