A 12v car battery and an inverter would power the circular saw motor then you could be free of the extension cable.

Ugh.. I hate how they call it "horsepower". 2 horses can easily pull a pack of 5 people yet a 2 horsepower motor can barely move a single person.

@sacr3 its all in torque a 2 horse hit and miss could easily pull five people if mounted on a frame and drive train

There are cordless circular saws that run on batteries. But the powerful ones are very expensive .

some portable car battery chargers have outlets on them if you have one you could plug the saw into that and loose the leash

i found a powerwheels car and put 2 car batteries and a heavy duty motorcycle battery in it.
