you can merge them before saving. it should look the same. this didn't turn out as well as i would have liked, but shows how to play around with layer masks etc. i am pretty much a beginner with gimp also.
is that the last step, or do you have to merge the layers before saving? (just downloaded gimp, not that familiar with it... and i haven't attempted HDR editing yet). also, are there any other adjustments to consider? (saturation, blur... etc) thanks.
