also, this is great b/c back then the artists would lipsync to the album version of their song on a lot of these shows. here stevie is doing a live performance. way to be.
I rather liked the late Mike Douglas!! You probably had to watch his show to understand (and he wasn't hard to understand at all!! Mike Douglas would have on some of the coolest guest who wouldn't make it on other variety shows of the day!! Just search his name in YouTube, and you'll see what I mean...
@weenielongus You are so right! He had some amazing people on his show. I always watched when I was a kid. He had Gene Simmons on in like 1973. John and Yoko guest hosted for a week. I forget what year.
I love Stevie Wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but how patronising was that guy?!?!?!?!?!? "we who are lucky enough to have sight......." I know a few blind people who would kick him!
hearing stevie sing "a place in the sun", constantly brings tears to my eyes...a constantly overlooked, but classic track from stevie's vast treasure of a catalogue...
I can't think of a single voice like his... paired with his brilliance for writing songs, this makes him one of the greatest things to come out of American culture. Ever.
Absolutely awesome.. My first exposure to Stevie Wonder was watching him on the Mike Douglas show on my grandmother's TV in the '70s.. This brings back memories.. Anyone know the date of this show?
Fantastic!!! Can you believe he was 16 in this video! And Place in the Sun has always been one of my favourite songs. It sounds fresh at each hearing. What a giant talent.

This isn't music. This is beyond it. It's beyond a revolution. Beyond a construction. It's simply out of this world.
