  • Skate banana or k2 fast plant?? Witch is better

  • I just got my '12 nanner in a 156 W- I am 6 foot and 181 pounds, I ride mainly east coast park. Think this is an ok size for me???

  • @Gnarkilldeuce perfect

  • Beginner-intermediate to advanced-expert. Good way to stretch the video.

  • yeah this is the skate bannana you can snowboard with it

  • @pell819 because reading is horrible... shut the fuck up.

  • enough with the fucking paragraphs

  • hmmm... not much of a review. Then again, this board doesn't need much of a review.

  • are those burton triad bindings? i have those also! :D oh I have a GNU board with banana traction technology, is it similar to the lib tech skate banana technology?

  • I find that skate bananas make it hard to lock in when you stomp a trick and you can end up sliding around a bit because you can't dig your leading edge into the snow as easily.

  • how the hell could this be a jib board? i tested it and it felt pretty stiff and strong. i would recommend this to any park rider that likes kickers and to go big, cause this is a really fuckin good board! but for rails and smaller kickers the boxscratcher is just perfeeeeeeeect <3

  • nice detailed review brotha, lots of insight

  • @RaIphLauren

    lmao

  • YEHEEEAAA BANAANAAA!!

  • reverse camber is like cheating lol tried my friends skate banana so easy to press, no leaning just lift ur back leg up and ur nose pressing hah

  • i cant tell you how jelouse am of anyone with one. My school goes snowboarding every friday, and my friend let me use one. even though where we were had terrible conditions, it was still the best snowboarding of my life

  • @invaderaid man your school sounds fun i would go to that school any day

  • @invaderaid Yeah, I'm never gonna ride anything but magnetration after I rode the SB!

  • hi, im 6'3" and 14st what size should I get

  • @beefner type in yahoo or google snowboardlengthcalculator and it should be the first link ;D

  • oh, lifetime warranty too, replace it for free no questions asked, just send it to em :)

  • i have one but its too big so no big spins and terrain, well its not as easy :( but im 13 so i needed to get big for it to last, next year... but love it otherwise :) so get one, but small, u can easily ride small on this board

  • What jacket and pants are those they go great with the board. I have the same board it's really nice!

  • how does this this perform on jumps with the rocker?

  • @michaelskating From my personal experience, its pretty friggin poppy. I ride the 2009 which is a bit more flexy, but yeah, people think the rocker takes away pop, it doesnt....

  • @michaelskating it holds up really nice..get this board dude! butters are really nice with this and its hard to catch an edge on this thing. i love it.

  • @michaelskating I find that it's easier to wash out in spins if you don't land evenly with both feet. But this can also mean that it doesn't catch an edge as easy as camber.

  • @michaelskating It's the landing from the jumps that is different. I feel that if you're off centered in balance, the board tends to wash out or overspin easiy if you're in a spinning landing. Like I had a dark series from 2005 and a banana from 2010. Even with this old 2005 board in a high speed 180 on flat ground, the DS will lock onto the landing while the banana is not as stable and washy. But a small mistake and the banana just overspins while the DS will slam you into the ground!

  • Im sure that half of you kids barely know what you're talking about. Skate bananas are suuuuper fucking washy. Thats why im trying to use it as a pow and rail board this season. It handles pow well due to the reversed camber, and handles rails well due to the soft flex and easy riding. Sucks dick for charging, sucks for carving, hence it sucks for jumpin anything 35+ feet. After this pow season, im sellin it off for a capita horrorscope or ultrafear.

  • @xxfinnellxx LA NINA!, the horrorscope is dope. I use that and an artifact for park days. Good times for sure

  • @BillyBobTS Fuck yeah dude.

Im gettin a ride DH2.4 for jumps and haulin ass for groomed days due to the stiff flex and carbon, then one of those capitas as a dope rail deck for the spring season. I gotta ride kink that I blew the heel edge out on that I'll use for urban.

Quite a quiver, but im gonna reduce it to the DH, and Capita after this season of epicness. The banana is too valuble for me to sell at this point in time, hopefully it doesnt snap

  • @xxfinnellxx Cool beans, I'm assuming you live in the northwest yea?, and how do you like the kink? I've been wanting to try one of those boards for awhile. If we get the type of snow we usually do I'll probably just be rotating between a k2 jibpan and a omatic celebrity this year, probably wont do much park riding.

  • @BillyBobTS Its been a few years since I rode it on mountain, and at that time I wasnt too good at riding park at least. It feels a little wider than a usual deck of the same size (I didnt even order a wide). Not too soft (wich is nice), but soft enough to glaze some strong presses and is also quite stable.

  • @xxfinnellxx what size nana are you riding

  • @xxfinnellxx I agree with your assessment. But 90% of the riders out there don't "charge", "carve", toward a jump that will throw you 35+ feet and never will. And 90% of the ppl who say they do on youtube can't do anything near that. The 10% that actually DO have those skills, know that different boards are designed for that type of stuff.

  • @rasmasyean Exactly why I'm going for ride dh2.4, bataleon evil twin, or a k2 believer.

Idk, I just think that bananas are for posers because everyone in the northwest has one and I regret getting mine. Its damn bomb proof though. So many instances where it should have snapped. It feels like a surfboard when going off jumps and a wake board when going on rails. Its just kinda awkward for park. grommers its alright with, pow its fantastic. Not enough good pow in the northwest though.

  • @xxfinnellxx Yeah. imo da banana is more of a jack-of-all-trades board. I hav 1 and it's good for certain things. But if u want a big park board, check out the Lib Tech Dark Series - designed for going fast and big. I can't do those so I got a banana. lol But even in a fast simple ground 180, the DS (mine is old 2005) will lock onto the landing like a train while the banana is kind washy at speeds. But be a little off and the banana will overspin while the DS will slam you into the ground. ;)

  • Also I know I'm beating this to death but I feel I need to explain this further, the reason why I hate the rocker between the bindings is two major reasons. one you now don't have a flat surfar to carve on and two because of this you find yourself rocking between either the front or back of the board making it easier to wash out and more slip sliding than real carving. I've ridden shit knows how many different cambers from lib,ns,omatic,rome,k2,ride, and burton who also does the rocker between

  • @BillyBobTS The contact points shifted to awkward displacements wich makes most of the mid flex and soft flex boards super washy. Im sure that the really stiff boards will have a lot better edge control because the contact points wont tweak out so much when the board starts to overload with power.

  • @xxfinnellxx The skate banana is stiffer at the ends and softer in the middle. Is this their attempt to solve this problem? They said it's because they didn't want the nose to flod up too much in powder and stuff but maybe it also does something else. I have a 2010 SB with flex 4 and it doesn't carve that good at high speed, but it's also pretty soft so. But I found that when you a balanced in your weight distribution, it carves much better in general And it also turns faster than a camber

  • @rasmasyean Its gonna turn edge to edge faster than a cambered board because there is no bounce. When you go edge to edge on a cambered board, you feel the contact points lock and then you feel the board flex and load with power so that it's flex shape matches the radius of the turn. It feels super nice in my opinion. With reverse camber, it's pre flexed so that it instantly matches the radius of your turn.

When it buckles in pow, it feels weird. Just dont drop 15' to flat or it might snap

  • @xxfinnellxx That makes sense. I used to ride a 2005 Dark Series and it's super stiff cambered. I'd have to pick up a bit of speed before it can flex into the turn shape and carve, while the banana can do so instantly at low speeds. I guess this is good for beginners.

I suppose reverse camber boards land a bit harder then cambered boards in big jumps in general I guess. Prolly feels like it's more impacting your feet than the board.

  • almost got this board but got the signal park rocker

  • can this hit 50 foot jumps easily

  • I snapped mine... bummer.

  • my shoe size is 45 in euro sizes, witch sould i get the 154 or 153 wide?

    p.s i'm 184 cm and i'm a intermediate ;-D

  • Magna traction is so fucking BOMB!!!!

  • what is the flex

  • @larsentunes4 it all depends on the size you are riding. It can range from a 4 to 6 in flex

  • @PortersLars probably a 156 wide

  • @larsentunes4 then the flex would be a 6

  • @larsentunes4 its a 5

  • what size are you riding there?

  • is gnu streetseries softer? or just about the same flex?

  • one of the nicest boards i've ever seen.

  • whats the pricee?

  • ye tahoe

  • i rode a 52 banana '09 its super slippy under the feet but a good feel of control when you get use to it...it holds a amazing edge on toe & heel due to the magne traction. in powder it floats good and it can hang in double black run ..its stable but not on high speeds and did some jumps but it will wash out on jumps like around 15-30 ft. ..otherwise the banana is super fun all mountain board but is mainly for park and can almost do it all ....my rating 10/10 for park - 7/10 for all mountain

  • just bought one of these boys even though the seasons almost over where i live. 6'2" 145lbs size 13 boots so i picked up the 159 wide, was debating over the 156 or the 159 but decided on the 159, should have it by tomorrow and ill have it hopped up and ridden by the day after. hope its worth the mad investment lol.

  • how does it ride the mountain cause i love hitting the park but i still like cruising and hitting the black diamonds

  • @sk8erman15 the board can really do it all, great mid flexing board that can handle steeps well and still play in the park all day.

  • @PortersLars I have one with a Flex 4 and it can't handle speed as well as an old Dark Series snowboard I used. I think there is definately a sacrifice regarding the "cruising" part because it vibrates at high speeds and you don't have as much control.

  • IS IT GOOD FOR ALL MOUNTAIN RIDING

  • never tried it myself, but if i didnt have EST bindings i would give it a try. the cut edge with the reverse camber seems like it would hold up in any conditions and be real fun to ride. THE SKATE BANANA LOOKS SWEET!!!!!

  • Ive allready snapped one this year by user error...all I can say is that IM FUCKING GETTING ANOTHERRR!!!!!

  • Hmmmm,i thought Burton made the best snowboards, if they don't who does ?

  • its all preference man. Burton boards between the 300-550$ range are crap compared to what anyone else may offer in that same price range...yet if you go past that 600$ mark, then your ensured to ride a killer board.

  • k2 and libtech

  • there is none

    this board rocks!! xD

  • nah, fuck drugs PLURR. umm idk skate banana seems like a really good board and i dont see a problem with it really seems cool

  • @bacardibmx. ur mad cuz u cant afford a banana bro! PUSSY!

  • @GlowRaver800 . nice user name! haha are you some pill poping E-tard! haha and im not mad cause i cant afford a banana! haha i bought a truck, ride DH, and a Rossi J-dub in one month.

  • I have to completely agree with this review. I have been riding the wide banana for about a month now and its awsome. I personally like the way it lands after jumps, im no expert but it feel safe and pretty stable even if you land a trick very sketchy. All in all a good board.

  • so.. im intereseted in the skate banana.. and the park pickle... i like to do park. and backcountry jumps.. and POW! what do you prefer?

  • @GlowRaver800 Skatebanana all the way bro!

  • @bacardibmx are you fucking retarded like all people good at park ride reverse camber only people like you that cant land switch tricks suck ass you fucking homo go throw away your shitty wal mart board

  • fuck rockers they suck ass

  • hahahahahha you have no idea what your talking about!! people who cant ride good use reverse camber board's to make them a better rider!

if you have to ride a rocker board that means you suck on a cambered board!

as for me i have been riden for 12 years and i bet you your moms pussy! i can do anything on my camber board that you can do on your little poser rocker board!

p.s. land switch is fucking easy you noob! hitting a 20 foot kicker riden switch use to be hard for me...6 years ago! lol

  • @bacardibmx. took u six years to hit a 20 foot kicker wow?!?! and who sucks?? a 20 foot gap is a pethitc jump, also revers camber makes the good better. u just suck and cant compinsate and learn to ride something new

  • @8661038 HAHA I didnt say "20 foot gap"! i said 20 foot TALL kicker!! fuck kid learn how to read!

how does revers camber make the good better? haha revers camber board have no eage control so you wash out very easily! thus maken big air tricks hard to land! RIDE CAMBER YOU PUSSY!

  • Travis rice is the best rider when it comes to big air, and what is his pro model? rocker, enough said. Oh, and bro, magnatraction prevents washouts and have more edges than a camber board. So how about you educate your dumbass self, and buy a board that doesn't look like a big ass ski.

  • because a pro rider rides the board doesnt make it the best! haha your telling me to educate myself?!?1 i work at a shop! i have at reps from burton, forum, ride, k2, gnu, rossi, salomon, and dc talk about there producted. ever company says the same thing!! hell the guy from forum said, pro rider's love the destroyer! haha well guess what! that board is soft and weak. my point is you think gnu is the best because somebody told you! ride many different board's and keep a open mind!

  • Amen

  • @bacardibmx yeah, u reflect my opinion as well

i ve owned 2 no name boards, burom dominant camber, gnu street series

ridden rome cheaptrick, some old head's, nitro t1 10, forum youngblood 09

and gues what? they're all different=) i never buy a board form the same company i already owned=) coz u just wanna try it all. even veeeery similar 09 yoingblood and 09 dom feel different.

i ride street series now and enjoy the edgehold and butterfun, also it feels light and flexy but not much pop/snap^^

  • if he's the best rider in big air. Why did he lose during the "big air" competetion at the X games?

  • Because your a fuckin prick and dont understand that allmost everything in a killer video probably has gallons of blood, sweat and tears in it. Only for the rider to aspire to land a clean hit.

  • @xxfinnellxx Your talking about a snowboarding video. I saw his and it was good. But that doesn't make him the best. If you can win a medal in that event over and over again then you'r considered the best.

  • wat does riding a reverse camber board have to do with being a pussy? i have both and treat it as such!!! u like ferarris i like lambos who the fuck cares. just ride!!!

  • @infoowetrust FOr one it's technically not even reverse camber, It's just a rocker between the bindings then flat both ways to the nose and tail. If you actually wanted reverse camber then you would need to buy their BC2 line, Or what I like to call it, A ripoff of neversummers double camber design.

  • @BillyBobTS lol. WRONG.

  • @ryanrummler That's nice, calrify your reasons because stating "wrong" is a rather useless rebuttal ya?. A rocker is technically a variant of reverse camber NOT reverse camber itself. For example, bataleons three stage base is a variation of base designs.

  • @BillyBobTS It's called c2btx. Which is not a ripoff. Here's why, it is rocker between the feet. Cambered under foot, and has magnetraction. All of which Mervin Mfg was the FIRST to do,

  • @ryanrummler No , actually; first to do it was Neversummer. it's the same as their rocker, camber, rocker only libtech prefers the rocker between the bindings. Libtech likes to say they already had it in development but NS had it released first. The rest is he said she said.

  • @BillyBobTS Yeah, but don't you see, It doesn't matter if NS did a variation first. It was WRONG. It isn't the proper type or combo of rocker/camber. It was designed for pow floating only. No good. In fact, it reminds me of plastic boards from the sporting goods store.

  • @ryanrummler Considering our entire conversation was based off of who had it out first I find it a tad obtuse that you're saying it's irrelevant 0_o.. and I'd beg to differ, I have a GNU street from a few years back and although the board is fun I do find the rocker between the bindings to make the ride far to squirrely and loose to my taste. Compared to my evo or the all the other camber variations i've ridden over the years I say they take away the least and add to the fun.

  • @BillyBobTS Also just to add to this, It's a little hard to say it's wrong after Libtech rips it off a year later.. Generally you don't try to ripoff crappy designs.

  • @BillyBobTS Duuurrr. It wasnt ripped off. Totally different thing. Get it?

  • @ryanrummler Totally different? look at the specs dude, THE ONLY difference is where they place the rocker. THAT'S IT, and the only reason the rocker is where its at is because that's where they always put it with their regular banana design, It is a ripoff.

  • @BillyBobTS I guess you don't get it. The rocker is pressed out from your body weight, equally distibuting edge pressure. My banana is the Furthest thing from squirrely that there is. The NS isnt a real rocker board. It just has an "uplifted" tip and tail. Just like the K2 Gyrator had. The banana was the first real rockered board utilizing the proper tech. It rides great everywhere. It is not squirrely (to me.)

  • @BillyBobTS sorry camber,rocker,camber

  • not sayin i agree with this kid talkin shit to everyone on youtube... but he is one hundred percent right... everybody gets these boards because there the new thing and everyone wants them cuz there supposed to be sick in the park but they have no pop... there good for jibs but then kids try and take em off a 20 foot (tall) kicker and cant figure out why there brand new 500 dollar board wont let them clear a decent sized jump... and its because theyre good for jibs, not jumps

  • @johnnymac97531 lol. Yeah, the board wont let me.

  • fuck skate banana get nitro or ride

  • GNU

  • what the hell does that mean

  • sick ass board company thats what

  • oh well i will see about that.....

  • @fight2befree420 GNU and Lib Tech are both owned by mervin.. so you get the same tech with either company.

  • @PortersLars Technically, they are all owned by Quicksilver, including Roxy. Mervin is the snowboard manufacturing arm of Quicksilver so they produce all 3 lines. Some of Roxy and GNU boards are the same I think...but they put Roxy on it to charge more for the branding.

  • the story bananas=easy to ride is not completely true in my opinion....it is harder to catch an edge and it is easier in powder but after a jump if you don't land balanced you start rotating...also magnetraction does not help in this situation...so stop saying bananas are easier to ride, it depends on the situation...anyway i would not trade my skate banana with any other board, it's great everywhere on the mountain

  • this is a board you would ride if you suck ass at snowboarding! haha reverse camber is for bitch's that cant snowboard very well

  • your saying that and im pretty sure more pros use this setup cause all it is is a rocker hmm burton has rocker GNU well shit a lot do and most pro boards are rocker now. and go tell that to T Rice and rest of lib tech team. that they are all bitch's.

  • and u are a pro???

  • @bacardibmx troooooooooooll

  • would you make a review for option mirror 159 ?

  • @uNiQue759 sorry but we do not carry option snowboards

  • I've heard people say its not good at high speeds. Does anyone think the 156 would be good for bombing the mountain, and trick ridin?

  • no board is ever optimum for those two things. the reverse camber on the libtech deffinately makes it more difficult to carve and bomb mountains, its an urban jib board, speced for flex and control on rails and buttering the shit out of jumps.

  • i just got this board i went out on it for the first time and i find it better for bombing hills

  • Thats at extreme high speeds, speeds you rarely reach. Its pretty flexible and because of the banana, youre already sort of at a flex if you know what I mean, so if you dont know how to ride properly and you reach a very high speed, it could get away from ya, but its very unlikely.

  • @drakesltd i just bought a 153 im 5 11 but i ride a smaller board and it was epic at high speeds.. dont listen to these kooks... it was a little choppy at high speed braking but nothing ya cant handle

  • @drakesltd the 156 is flex 6 so it's fairly stiff for higher speeds. My friend has one and says it's pretty good for high speeds. It's stiff at the ends and soft in the middle so the nose won't fold up that much on powder. The soft in middle part makes it easiy to press and butter but it's not the best for this type of freestyle. This board is a compromise and is pretty much a do-everything board that turns really well. I have a flex 4 SB and it's so soft and not good at high speeds.

  • what size should I get ? I'm 178cm 73kg

  • Get a 151-156. If you're jibbing more then get a 151 like me. If you do more free riding or big air grab something a bit bigger like a 156+

  • thanks for the reply :) I just got my skate banana 152 :D Can't wait to test it !

  • Just got mine today. can't wait to test it out either :P, can anybody recommend me some bindings for it?

  • @luvverde well, in my opinion ride makes the best bindings. they have a pad on the bottom that prevents your board from getting those pesky marks when you remove your bindings, or change them. Also, ride makes their bindings, even freestyle ones, out of metal, so they are incredibly durable, i own the contrabands and i love them, the toestrap has never come off, they are super durable, and light. One thing about ride though, is their ratchets, it seems like there could be better ratchets.

  • union force

  • Comment removed

  • nice riding here. great board - I'm looking forward to change my Shaun White 2005 for this one :D but I'll keep my RiDE SPi bindings

  • haha weird coincidence..i have union force bindings as well..the all black ones. but i have Burton ozone bindings..pretty close setup!!

  • Just bought my 10' skate banana...just waiting for the mountain to open so i can see if its really gonna live up to all the hype ive heard about it this season

  • same. i bet it will considering im using 2009 union force bindings and 32 lashed boots. its a heavy board but the boots are so light its gunna be great

  • the 2010s are fuckin sweet looking i got a 09

  • you gotta hold that thought about they invented the tech... look u some snowboard history and see that reverse camber has been around for a long time they just didn't know how to perfect it and sadly to say Shane McConkey was playing around with it as well in the ski world for a iong time as well. Any board will ding and break, its all about the operator not the device in most of the matters, over weight and under sized usually.

  • oh really never new that shiet dude. but they did invent megne traction though right?

  • its funny cause a couple years ago everyone was talking shit about burton/forum etc and saying how lib is a small company on the come up and making sick boards.. now you ney sayers are dissing lib and saying ns and bataleon are the better alternative

  • wft.... did he just say great for pipe!?

  • wow please don't listen to this guy. GO DEMO THIS BEFORE YOU BUY IT!!! A banana is not a miracle board, its not perfect for everything and everyone. (and it certainly isn't a great pipe board thats redonk!) there is so much hype about rocker right now and i'm not bashing it i'm just saying just cause somethings really different doesn't mean it's amazing.

  • wat about the forum youngblood chillydog is that a good board?

  • I got it, there is also an 148 size which i have, it is the best board ever, if you chearching for an board and you don't know which one, buy the skate banana!!!!!!!!!

    For beginners to advanced riders

  • I'm planning on getting this board for this winter...Do you know if it's good for groomed runs? also Coudl you tell me what sizes are available cause I'd like a smaller board for park...

    Ty

  • there's a 149, 152, 156, 159, and i believe it comes in a wide for the sizes 156 and up and a narrow in all sizes. To answer your first question, it does everything well. you wont find a better all around board than a mervin manufacturing banana.
