  • How do you memorize such a repertoire? It's just amazing !!!

You're a real artist because you express so many things with just 88 keys.

  • この曲好きになりました

    曲名教えてください誰かU^ェ^U

  • @twrnnn 題名が曲名です。Des Mädchens Klage , Erlkönig ^_^

  • Remarkable,I love the tunes and her talent is flawless I say!

  • Valentina, you are simply marvelous.

I hope listen you ever and ever again,

As long as I can live,

And also when it will be time to leave.

  • Great Erlkoenig! Many kill this piece by just rushing through it, and have no idea what they are supposed to bring to life. There are four voices. Narrator, father, son and erlking. All speak iwith different emotions. Never heard this done so beautifully on the piano. Maybe Hillary Hahn on the Violine. Thanks for this.

  • Valentina in Schubert-Liszt, the best anywhere. Hope one day she plays some of the other song cycles besides Schwangesang, as how many great pianists have played more than 6-8 Schubert-Liszt works. And, the music itself is simply divine showcasing the full spectrum of emotion and passion. This music also showcases the fantastic range of abilities Valentina showcases - like no one else today.

  • Кто моет посуду в доме?)))

  • 0 dislikes, now we have some justice and fair judgement here

  • @candicezhong

I think it would be more correct to say we HAD because a crazy and fool person said "I dislike", something I find very stupid, isn't it? :)

  • Quand aurons nous l'honneur de vous voir en France ?

  • i thing i m falling in love,sorry i dont thing i am sure!!!

  • I really like the way you play. It's passionate and fascinating when we see someone who loves what is doing. You play whith your soul and we can feel it!

  • Your play is heart- breaking, Lisitsa. You bring me in tears, and I'm a big fan, but still, the video would be more attractive, if you would wear one of your beautifull skirts.

  • could you put a recording of grieg's e minor sonata up on youtube? shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes practicing...

  • Valentina, have you ever considered composing...?

  • Valentina, I admire your work so much. Are you doing any concerts in London?

  • OMG! I love how you played Erl King! It reminds me of one of my friends who also plays it lol. Isn't this the lizst version?

  • This Piece has a the theme like "lacrimosa" by mozart, especially from 0:24 to 0:33! Has anyone noted this ?

  • @MrSerpico87 Yes, I agree!

  • I was tempted to make the drive from Detroit for this concert. It is however on the far side of Chicago. I see Rockford is coming us soon- maybe that one.

  • At 0.22 Lacrimosa by Mozart :-) Wonderful!!!

  • Magnifique!!!!.....You should come to Montréal....They've build a new place for classical music.....And it would be a pleasure to hear you...

  • Valentina, vous êtes même admirée depuis l'île de la Reunion ! J'ai grandi au fil des ans en découvrant à chaque fois le talent, la grâce de Valentina, j'en suis toujours aussi époustouflée.

  • So incredibly beautiful...Thank you so much for posting this Ms. Lisitsa.

  • Thank you for adding this Valentina...It's such an exquisite piece!

  • les gens comme elle* désolé

  • Elle joue superbement, l'une des plus grandes virtuoses encore vivantes ! Magnifique. Je viens de commencer le piano et c'est les gens qui m'ont donner le plaisir de jouer et d'écouter du piano.

  • The French translation of "Der Erlkönig" is called "Le Roi des Aulnes" :)

  • If thats practice your ready to play! Beaultiful!!

  • incredibly sexy........

  • Excellent job Valentina, bravo.

  • Floating fingertips,,,Lovely.

  • Wonderful, amazing, stunning, magnificent, spectacular, splendid ! (can anyone find other adjectives ? )

  • Beaultiful!!.......BRAVO!!

  • And this is just practice! What a great artist.

  • Beautiful as always, Valentina!

I hope you are OK after all the nasty weather!

  • It's lovely to see you performance and not have the camera man having us looking up at the ceiling and then the walls, as they do in a lot of DVD's, but not yours! Fine Artistry as always!

  • Wow, I love the tone of those bass notes!

  • too long? i would be listening for weeks in a row

  • I just discovered that Valentina has been recently in Brazil. oh, my God, how could I lose it?

  • This is beautiful! I love your interpretation, using the complex "periphery" in a very sustaining manner. It is worthy of Liszt, as always! You're my favorite Liszt interpreter :)

  • Valentina you are great as ever...but dress like you play, or play like you dress.

  • @BobsArtGallery It was a practice session. She dresses lovely for the performances I've seen on YT.

  • J.S.Bach anyone?

  • Such beautiful poetry! You are a true romantic! ;o)

  • It's so great to see and hear you again!! You are incredible!! I can listen to you play all day and night!

  • We missed you Val! This piano is amazing, Bravo!

  • I like also when you play Totentanz from Liszt.........

  • People say taste in music is subjective. I say people who don't recognize your talent are objectively idiots.

    Amazing... as usual.

  • ur not good, u r great, u make me cry but, sometimes, sometimes i want to tell you stuff, like now, ...all one can ever do with music is describe stuff, so....,stop describing yourself with panties on, lets see everything, ....pubic hair might be key? No such thing as the 'perfect left hand', only perfect two people. Know your limits in this regard and describe your vagina. Thanks, I love you, you are the best!!!

  • wow Val now i see why you had such a busy summer!your playing gets close to perfection day by day!!

  • @ValentinaLisitsa come to mexico city please! you will be very well received... and i can guarantee you will have a good audience. I know a lot of people from my music school that would go to see you, pleeaaaaaseeeee D: haha

  • <3 you <3

  • Hallo Valentina, the translation into french for Erlkönig is : le roi des Aulnes.

thank you for your piano playing.

  • Welcome back Valentina! You are fabulous and a huge inspiration (especially to me). I absolutely love your Erlkonig! So terrifying! How do you manage to stay relaxed during all those octaves?

  • Val, you are such a wonderful and magnificent human being... I would pay to see you practice haha :)

  • Best side of Schubert so dark and quiet delicate yet .

  • Oh, Schubert and his swan songs. How couldn't we be in love for them?

It would be nice a whole concerto for them...

Please, let me know when coming back to Brazil (hope you liked our Steinway, and the audience) (and not only when invited to play with OSB, your such a nice solo concertist).

    :)

  • Splendid as usual.

  • Bravo!

  • VALENTINA!!!!!!!!!!! i miss ur performance very much.. wish u could come to malaysia. i sooooo wanna see you perform in person.

  • Wonderful Valentina, you are amazing, I´m a fan;-))

It´s the first time I read the "Erlkönig" in English;-) We learn it in Germany at school.

    Frank

  • Valentina Lisitsa a un toucher de clavier qui lui est propre et fait toujours merveille, associé à une sensibilité extraordinaire. Bravo Valentina, vous êtes magnifique

  • @soulechene Thank you :-) I added "Plainte de la jeune fille" French translation to the description....can't find

    Erlkonig yet :(

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Hello Valentina, I did a little search. I won't paste links here but you can find it on english wikipedia "Der_Erlkönig", by switching the language to french

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Der Erlkönig = Le Roi des Aulnes in french ! And bravo for your performance, I'm... wow, very impressed !

  • @ValentinaLisitsa

Hi Valentina. We missed you so much on YT. Thanks for being back.

The question is : will you ever come play in Paris???

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Maybe "Le Roi des aulnes". But I'm not sure, that's what Wikipedia says.

  • Beautiful, as always.

  • Foxy Lady )

  • So glad to hear more Liszt from you. I've been reading up on him and playing (trying to play, that is) his works this summer in honor of his 200th birthday this October. I would love to hear you play Wagner-Liszt Tannhäuser. One of my favorite Liszt transcriptions for sure.

  • I can't believe I missed the concert at Ravinia... *cry*

    Come back to Chicago please!

  • @Shadellyn I doubt Ravinia will call me back :-) The concert was too long, backstage crew was upset.

  • @ValentinaLisitsa That is our unions work ethic. Pathetic. My wife and I are in Chicago each year and the unions in Chicago are by far the worst to work with. NY unions come in second place! I'm sure you will be asked back! You are fabulous!

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Who could ever be upset that you played a long show

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Then it's Ravinia's loss. OH...and How DARE they make you play on that Steinway! I was wondering at the time if the CSO would let you use their piano. I'm sue Frodo Baggins wouldn't have missed it. (inside joke or is it outside...for Val and those that attended. BTW: I hope the pianos at your home are dry. Hurricane.... Too LONG...THEY'VE NEVER SEEN YOU PRACTICE LOL...

  • @ValentinaLisitsa wat!!! why would anyone be upset that the great valentina lisitsa stayed longer than expected??? i'm confused?

  • @ValentinaLisitsa I was there and loved your concert. I'm from Mexico and I hope you'll come here some day. Thank you for a wonderful concert.

  • @ValentinaLisitsa YOU WERE IN CHICAGO?!#@

    Woe is me!

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Really???? NOOOO. I went there later that day, found out you were there before and almost cried. :( I missed you by just a few hours!!!! Please come back!!

  • @Shadellyn I missed her too. *cry*

  • I missed you on YT. Be welcome again. Great performance.

  • Extraordinary performance! Your playing of Erlkönig really depicts the image of a swift bike riding in the wind! With the tension rising and falling, this is breathtaking! One of my favourite choral works! Thank you! The elf bits were nice too, the mystical feeling can be just slightly more hyperbolic if you like!

    Regards,

    D.

  • Finally more Schubert, great!

  • to be only a practice sounds amazing

  • I've been listening to you play for ages, I hope sometime I come to Pennsylvania. :]

  • @gezafabinyi you come*

  • You are my angel,my Idol...You look like morning X'mas day for me,You're brilliant to out standing always...Miss you and takecare your self...You are the only one for me...Best Regard Mrs.Lissie (Mr.Athamath Singhara at Ayudthaya)

Ps.I hope to you succses evreything foreverthing

  • oh Valentina!!!! every time you post a video it gives me the energy and faith needed to practice every waking minute i am allowed! and luckily the college practice rooms are open 24/7 lol! hopefully i am not too distracted by your magnificent art that i forget my own studies! LOL

  • me encanta escuchar como tocas el piano, saludos de Argentina ! =)

  • You make me simultaneously want to never play piano again, and keep playing until I can play such pieces are you are playing. You have such an ease of playing that it seems like you merely caress and it sings the song for you. (perhaps this is true). Also, Erlkönig is one of my favorite songs, and you did it wondrously. Thank you and the best of luck.

  • Perfect!!

  • Your hair seems lighter. :-)

  • I really look up to you in terms of classical piano. Keep it up :) by the way, is that a Steinway piano? And do you prefer Steinways?

  • @crazyghetto978818 No, it's a Bosendorfer Imperial (as per the description) Ms Lisitsa is on record as preferring Bosendorfers to Steinways though when I've heard her on Steinways she always sounds pretty awesome.

  • @Rotwatcher Ahh a Bosendofer Imperial. If I'm correct, that has 97 keys?

  • So amazing! It's just practice but it's still incredible. Thanks!

  • She's back! (on Youtube at least) :D

  • @Caigga900 It has been a busy summer :-)

  • Wonderful as always Mrs. Lisitsa!

I would like to ask you, are you planning on ever coming to Athens, Greece, to play in Megaron?

  • @Lamentus if I ever get invited ....wait , i think you are inviting me ;) Seriously, I would love to - I hope whoever runs concerts there notices me

  • @ValentinaLisitsa

Aahh, right now I wish I was the person who runs the concerts. You'd be in Athens every week :D.

In all seriousness, I may send them an email or two and let them know that at least one person in this city would like to see you playing live!

    Regards!

  • @ValentinaLisitsa What about Dallas Texas, it seems your always in San Jose California? I would love to see you live.

  • @mavs972 Call Symphony :-) they listen to the fans . Or maybe they have something against SMU grads :-) LOL

  • @mavs972 seriously, I almost got hired by Dallas this season , but it would have been in some chamber music piece which I was not crazy about. I will wait for some real piece to play with them.

  • @ValentinaLisitsa I never knew you were an SMU graduate :) . If I had enough money I would hire you right away, I wish you didn't have to wait to be invited, you just play. Chopin's concerto would be a dream to watch you perform it live. How often do you perform Chopin?

  • Reading in the description box while listening, and wow, simply wow.

  • @SertavisSaviPianist I will do it in a neater way when I have a real recording done. Meanwhile , for a real thing:listen to Rosette Anday - Des Mädchens Klage (Schubert). Wow, what a singer ! it is on YT

  • @ValentinaLisitsa I will :)
