  • great job guys

  • i love presonus just was wondering i seen 3 studio live mixers right there y didnt they use those.

  • i wish i have one of the FireStudio :(

  • Studio One is the best DAW in my opinion. I'm sold on workflow alone not to mention the sound and stability.

You can hold your train of thought during music creation which to me is the essence of using DAW's in the first place

  • So for rig 1, you have 1 firestudio and the rest are digimax d8's?

  • HI RICK!

QUESTION: IS POSIBBLE USING 3 "FIRE STUDIO" TO RECORDING IN LOGIC PRO????

    VERY GOOD VIDEO, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

  • SAVE BUTTON.

  • rick what folder do you aim vst and rewire apps at to make them play in studio live artist

  • Were all the instrument pre panned before you recorded them or was that just straight mono when you played it back?

  • 48 tracks is divisible by 8, making it a friendly number for computer software and hardware... find it hard to believe u needed exactly 48 tracks...

  • hey rick. resolution and bit rate?

  • Can i connect any presonus interface via optical cable to my Digi 003 and work on Pro Tools? thanks for you help

  • Great job Rick. After seeing this, the answer to my question seems obvious but I just want to make sure that I can use 2 FSTubes simultaneously with Studio One Pro. I am about to buy my second FSTube so just want to make sure I can record all inputs at once. Thanks.

  • @lakesidestudio99 Just make sure you have a fast enough computer to handle the bandwidth of all 48 channels. Lots of RAM also helps. I'd recomend 4-8 gigs.

  • Ok man thanks. One more thing could you give me the name of the splitter directly so I could look it up I tried the name you mentioned but it wasn`t helping my search. Another thing I am new to the recording world so bare with me.

  • @leightonmusik I personally use a Whirlwind but I've also used Horizon splitters. They both have worked great for me.

  • Rick how do you get the signals to the main mixer for the house after you put the XLR cables to the firestudio inputs? Is it from the outputs from the back of the firestudio to the main mixer for the house? If so show how.

  • @leightonmusik In this video, I used a splitter snake. The inputs where split at the stage and they went simultaneously to the FOH board as well as to my recording rig. Of course, this is kind of expenseive to do. So if you can't afford a splitter, you can also go to the board first and then feed the recording rig from the board's direct outputs.

  • it's nice to see where the church's money goes.

  • Good to see JBL 4326's at a LIVE venue. This clip is not for beginners, nor the faint of wallet! LOL - I'm positive everything's digital here. The signal going to the JBL's is likely S/PDIF. Nice MAC PRO too! To answer an earlier post, sure you can do this with a PC and the right hardware! Check out Alienware, or just get a MAC PRO. Afterall, with Apple's BOOTCAMP drivers, a MAC PRO can boot in Windows with up to 32 GB of RAM on an 8 core processor (!), as long you install a 64-bit Windows OS!

  • Amazing) Never seen something like this before.

    Presonus - #1

    Greetz from Ukraine!

  • what speed drives are you using for that. i was always told that 10,000 - 15,000 rpm drives are needed for large track counts.....

  • @planet10 I have upgraded the internal drive in my laptop to a 7200rpm drive. Aside from that, my Mac hard drives are the standard 7200rpm ones as well.

  • thats not a macbook pro thats a mac pro hahaha

  • @romodrummerjz Yup, a temporary mind warp. SORRY about that!

  • primero necesitaría saber si podes poner esta explicación en español, básicamente lo que estoy queriendo saber es de que manera no afecta tu configuración el operador de sonido, agradecería mucho tu respuesta.

ah! Rick sos un groso sabelo!!!!

  • isn´t there a click track function to have an oriantation for recording guitar?

  • Rick, I love your "how-to" videos... keep them coming. How big was your file after recording 48 channels for 80 minutes?

  • What format do you export to after you finish recording? Wave, I'm guessing?

  • StudioOne will export to basically any format: WAV, AIFF, etc..

  • rick nice setup,

what I'd like to know is, how did you connect the world clock sync if applied at all?

    regards

  • Wordclock sync happens via Firewire between the Firestudio units. I used BNC cables to sync the Digimax FS preamps.

  • Or, you know, you could just use a mixer. Autotuning live vocals? Way to instantly date the DVD.

  • Autotuning live church vocals? Way to completely miss the point of live music, Presonus.

  • I think he was referring to the Horn Section and not the vox.

  • What's with the ironing board and iron?

  • Thanks for the inspiring video Rick! What kind of rack flight are you using for the 6 unit setup? Would the Studio Live mount on top of it?

  • Thank you Rick !!!

  • Thank you Rick !!!

  • mmmmm 3 StudioLives at 2:12

  • Yeah, they just purchased 3 StudioLive to mix the audio for their video feed.

  • Excellent system. How much would THIS system cost? It REALLY is insane how incredible these rigs are for the price. We have come a LONG way since the old Tascam cassette recorders.. One suggestion, on the Presonus website, I would suggest maybe some sample rigs for different size live shows. I get a bit confused with ALL of the gear that all seem to do almost the same thing. THANKS ! Your products keep this industry VERY exciting !!!

  • Thanks for sharing this!

Always a great feeling when it all comes together :).

  • The first rig that has the 2 Firestudio + 4 Digimax FS has a MAP price of $3594. (These are $599 each). The second rig I had on my laptop which consists of 3 Firestudio Tubes has a MAP price of $2097 (they have a MAP of $699 each). With the first rig, you actually get 48 mic inputs. With the second rig you get 30 mic inputs + 18 line inputs.

  • oops. Just realized I called my Mac Pro a "Mac Book Pro". Sorry about that... :-)

  • @ricknaqvi .... Could you have used 2 Studio Lives and a firestudio or would that not have been worth the effert for just recording the concert?

  • Right now the limit for recording with StudioLives is two units. However, if you are not recording (just mixing live), you can actually link up to 4 StudioLives together for a max of 64 inputs.

  • @ricknaqvi great video rick....you think you could have pulled this whole setup off with a Windows unit!!!! lol

  • @DamianMullins1976 ha possibly. not a yes but possibly :P

  • @ricknaqvi great video rick....you think you could have pulled this whole setup off with a Windows unit!!!! lol

  • @DamianMullins1976 You know, I'm sure you can do this type of thing on a Windows machine but I have just had very great results on Apples so that's what I use. Of course, both of my Macs are basically Windows machines (Intel processors running OSX) so I'm sure if you used a PC AudioLabs or Rain Recording machine, you would get similar results.

  • Thanks. Good Video

  • Great video Rick. I'm just starting to use Studio One. I had been using Cubase, and still like it, but I find that I can get things done a lot faster and more intuitively in Studio One. Plus it sounds great. Thanks again for a great video and Merry Christmas.

  • Great video. Looking forward to getting my church setup like this as well. May I ask if you could upload a sample of the original recording. Thanks and Merry Christmas!
