  • This is interesting to see, however the chair was designed with ergonomics at heart, which is why there is no headrest, when you sit in the chair it supports correct posture, whic is why there are different size of chairs and adjustability, in in turn means that the head does not need to be supported, adding a head reast defeats the purpose and also may lead to poor posture.

  • @jusaverage

Yes, this may be correct from a posture and engineering standpoint. But the reality is this makes the chair more comfortable. Alas, comfort is King..

  • did they rise the price for the strata headrest ?

it's listed 110$ in the 2011 Price Book.

  • @chickensoupgangster

    correction "raise"

  • I have created a photo page (high rez) of the headrest installed on my Aeron chair. Message me for the URL.

Hopefully you can see the details of how it hooks onto the chair back.

And thank you again, flamaest, for your video. Much appreciated.

  • @jatkins679

Sure, please send me the link, thanks.

  • @jatkins679 would you be so kind as to also point me towards this vendor you've mentioned? i've had no luck finding a way to buy what looks like an awesome addon for my aeron...thanks in advance!

  • Does anyone know if those are also available for Herman Miller Mirra chairs?

Thing is, i just bought it (895€) and the first thing that i did after the assembly and parking my backside in it, is to google for "mirra headrest" because the thing is so effin uncomfy + my neck is killing me :/

You just cant kick back and relax in it...a pretty shitty first impression i must say...

  • Good for you! I found a local dealer as well and will try to get it for that price. I just hope it fits my Kronos chair.

  • Well I just got off the phone with my closest local dealer, and at first a few days ago I was talking to a lady that was trying to charge me at $105 shipped for the headrest which was ridiculous price.

So I waited a few days and called them back and talked to a guy and I told them I got off the phone with 9to5 and told them it would cost $40 + s/h and they said as long as they said that and i said "yes" lol.

I am just glad I waited a few more days instead of paying double the amount.

  • I wonder if the headrest would fit a Staples Kronos mesh chair. That chair has similar lip on the top of the back of the chair, but the shape is more squarish and is 1.25 inches high and deep.

  • It's a shame they didn't make the headrest with mesh.

  • Thanks for the info flamaest.

  • I was finally able to get the headrest from 9to5seating via a local vendor. It attached easily and works like a dream. $85 including s/h/tax. I have pics of the headrest and newly modified chair, message me for a link to them.

Thank you for all the information on this modification! I appreciate it!

  • @jatkins679 Glad you liked it, took me about 2 years to stumble on this little gem, almost pure luck, since no Aeron retailers were willing to point ppl to alternatives.

  • @jatkins679If you have the website or the vendor company and phone number, for the Strata headrest sold by 9to5 seating. I called 9to5 seating, they gave me a phone number for a person named Darcy, I spoke to her a couple times but she never returned the phone call with the vendor's name and phone number. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I saw a headrest at Amazon.com, but do not look like the Strata headrest. If you could email me, a vendor name & phone number or a website. Thanks

  • @gatta131: You're welcome, I'm glad I was able to point you to a good vendor.

  • I just contacted 9to5 and they said they don't sell to individuals, they are a wholesaler and only do PO's. Can someone point me to a retailer who sells this headset? Thanks!

  • 9-5 seating will routinely have this headrest on sale, through resellers for $40 + s/h. You can get it for that price if you tell the reseller that you know how much it costs from 9-5 seating.

  • @flamaest Could you point me to a good reseller? I am having issues getting in touch with my local one. This was a fantastic find, thank you very much.

  • @mmrpm

The 9-5 seating website should point you to the resellers for this item, thanks, F.

  • The head rest costs $80 without shipping. You have to contact 9-5 seating so they can connect you to a local dealer.

  • Biggest question is? Does 9-5 seating sell the Strada headrest by itself and if they do how much?

  • Thanks so much for making this video, I looked everywhere for an option to add a head rest.
