  • This film was such a powerful expression of the human condition.

  • I love Iranian Cinema, so powerful.

    Love from Scotland

  • In the presence of such beauty, elegance, exquisiteness and eloquence, all this political and religious squabbling seems totally trivial. And she's a wonderful actress as well. I do hope award winning movies like "A Separation" will cross cultural boundaries and help bridge the gap between people from different cultures.

  • Her French is much better than either her English or German...

  • @polyanthesis if I'm not mistaken, she was actually educated in french...her post secondary studies,I mean.

  • Tolle Frau. Den Film muss ich unbedingt sehen.

  • I love the fact that she spoke German...she really touched our hearts!

  • These bright and educated people, like producer and especially an actress are the hope that Iran will soon overcome the dark regime of Ayatollas and terrorists

  • @byte2702

you are right dude, now i watched the video again,at begin she speak few second german,

  • دستتون درد نكنه. شما ها كه باشيد ايران در دنيا وجود داره. زنده باد ايران و ايراني

  • The movie stars in the states are not even as half educated as these iranian stars are, and they are not as talented either - yet, they have conquered the world whereas the iranian stars are hardly recognized!

  • @khanoom1000 dont hate the movie stars in hollywood just because they were jewish.

  • @Dredgion U may hate the Jews, not me. So don't blame ur flaws on someone else.

Besides, when I criticize the Jews in Hollywood, I refer to Lindsy Lohan, Kim Kardashian, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, George Clooney, and etc. Is any of these talentless pple Jewish? As a matter of fact, the Jewish starts are amongs the few who can act today.

  • @khanoom1000 Dont hate them just because they are Jewish god dammit

  • @khanoom1000 come down :D

  • @khanoom1000 Why are you comparing the movie stars of Hollywood to the serious actors of Iran? They pander to two totally different audience. Celebrities in Hollywood are popular because of the type of films they star in. The type of films that pander to the sensibilities of the mainstream audience and will be more successful. Not to mention that these films are American films and they have the money to promote their actors better. :-)

  • @khanoom1000

You failed to account for the fact that these iranian stars normally come from affluent background. Hence their exposure to intelligence and language acquirement. However, their average American counterparts-similar background- would still be be dumb, unfortunately.

  • @khanoom1000

what kind of stupid comment is that?? you are a patriot, fine! many Iranian movies are pretty cheesy, some win prices. so stop this BS talk.

  • What a shame that such a beautiful and educated and talented woman is forced to wear hejab. :((((

  • @khanoom1000 thats why a women should wear hejab but you are blind :((((

  • @MrsShabalooo What in the world r u talking about? U don't make sense. I'm saying that it's a shame that these women have to wear Hejab and u r telling me that's why a woman should wear Hejab? Nope. U don't make sense at all. Do u support wearng Hejab?

  • @MrsShabalooo I'm from iran, fuck you and hejab and islam....

  • @khanoom1000 how is she forced to, she's a actor and can do whatever she wants. She likes her culture. Go cry to mr.shah.

  • Leila is clever, pretty, and very natural. She is one of my most favorite actrees.

  • She speaks perfect French as well.

  • 'A Separation" was mind-blowing. I can honestly say that it's my favorite foreign film right up there with the Italian masterpieces.. I think everyone should watch it when they have the chance.

  • Io sono Italiano e amo da morire voi Iraniani. siete grandi e vi vogliamo bene. viva ITALIA viva IRAN

  • I didn't know Leila Hatami is so educated and can speak multiple languages! Wish her success!

  • that woman is gorgeous

  • she is perfect ! the best number one !

  • @tagin100 Basheh, to khoobi...!

  • @tagin100

    too roohet

  • @tagin100 khak bar saret

  • She is absolutely hypnotizing

  • She doesn't age. She keeps getting more beautiful as she ages.

  • Leila is the bestttt

  • Oh wow she is so beautiful. Lovely actress, I hope I will see much more of her in the future.

  • This woman is hot

  • PART 2: Of curse this is a film, but it reveals the lower status of women when they face the law, it shows how arbitrary the law function, since the judge takes decision on the basis of his own evaluations as a person not the law book. Which is terrifying, because there aren't standard procedure and result for cases. It's incredible that a accusation of miscarriage becomes suddenly a question if the accuse knew or not that the women was pregnant, how is that possible?!?

  • PART 1: This film really demand a lot of comments! The acting was the best about this film. Then the dialogs and situations are incredible wired! How do they interprete things on turn them ups and down, lack of communication, manupulative tricks in conversations, lies, etc, shows how twisted everthing is in this country. The mentality is clearly for me the greatiest obstacule for DEMOCRACY, FREEDOM AND DEVELOPMENT! How a litle thing becomes a melodrama?!?

  • Divorce rate low of course , Enviroment Pressure, ethnic rules, street ppl's look to divorced ones. :) not because of modernism. If someone divorced than send them international schools (Iran Afroz).

  • Leila Hatami,, Wow to her. Amazing talent.

  • The best motion picture of 2011. I can't begine to catalogue the number of social, moral and philosophical issues Mr Farahadi fielded in this film.

  • Amazing, she's both a talented actor and speaks really good german other then all the other languages she knows! Very nice!

  • Asghar Farhadi is a genius! I love his movies...

  • ich bin stolze auf Leila hatami, was hat Sie über den Deutschsprache gesagt..war total Richtig,wünsch dir alles gutes,

  • So what he means is Iranians are leaving the'ye traditional Muslim roots to become more westernized. The West is trying to change Muslim people to accept their values (which accepts gays and having kids out of wedlock) and push out all True Muslim values in this so called "Modernization" its disgusting. She isn't even wearing the head scarf properly she is already westerinsed. The problem in muslim countries women are weak and will be the first turn against their religion.

  • @Bad2daBone447 I think you should educate yourself about the muslim countries you are talking about more, what you know about Iran is the propaganda that TV is feeding you with. The way she's wearing the head scarf is very common in Iran and actually a very low percentage of the society fallow the Islamic dress code.

  • @Bad2daBone447 oh just shut up, who are you, her father?

  • leila hatami kheyli shabie madarame !

  • Mr. Farhadi! I hope next time you also reply in English!

  • what does the big "B" that is odlly shapped mean?

  • A Separation.

If mainstream cinema leaves you soulless, see this film.

If you have a modicum of intelligence, see this film.

If you like great acting and directing, see this film.

If you like great writing and editing, see this film.

If you have an interest in law, see this film.

If you are a parent, see this film.

  • A Perfection.

A Separation is not harrowing or depressing. Fear not as I did before.

If you don’t like subtitles, you will forget they are there.

Do not read any more detailed reviews . Go without preconception.

A Separation deserves all the plaudits it is getting and a much wider audience.

Minimalistic and economic, a Separation is one of the finest,

most chiselled pieces of cinema of this millennium.

  • glass123able

i hope you know she is from iran she doesnt live over seas

i know people who live over seas for over 10 years and their accent is 10x worse than her

so youre the deep crap and you should be proud of her not bagging her accent

    suck shit hater

  • omg i love her she is amazing and she speaks french and english and german

  • but she's not speaking eng that welll.... :( no?

  • what an accent!deep crap

  • @salam802 I invite you to watch the whole Video Mr. Smart!!

  • @salam802

well, indeed she begins with german, and it was quite good. Then she turned to english.

What she said in german was:

I'd like to answer this question in german, but I've not spoken german for many years and I know that german people don't like hear people who don't speak german properly.

  • @salam802 she speaks German at first but she said that she is not really in ease with this language !

  • @salam802 half of what she says is german. shut up!!

  • @salam802 watch 3:00!!!!! But right she speaks 4-5 sentence in German and then switches to English.. It is impressive that an actress knows German, French, English and probably Arabic, even possible to know Turkish, Persian as mother tongue. More? Russian? Spanish? ;)

  • @salam802 khak bar oon saret bishoooooor

  • @salam802

haha you are a fucking idiot

  • @salam802 first i must tell you calling other's with "IDIOT" is not funny, because you must respect other's. then you do a favor for me and watc

    h this video from 2:58.

  • @salam802 Go on 2:57 and watch it,

  • It is mind boggling the capacity of muslims for hypocricy. These Iranian muslims can't for a moment admit to themselves the variety of ways they hate the religion that suppresses them every moment of their lives. They will go on, however, making movies ad nauseum about the different ways they are suffering in their "society". As if this society is made by alien beings from outer space.

  • Did she really have to speak English when she is not that fluent????
