  • that was a very legit title screen

  • B.B. King-The Thrill is Gone with I love music from the, history of other meat-offering a pestilence had guitarra. Your prometo, heard of Thiago justino. Best Guitar.

  • Best BB King. But IMHO, OK whoever clicks "I don't like it". Thumbs up if you feel me.

  • @jamkia, it was always a war of who invented it the first beetween those 2 (JB & Fela) Even Maceo Parker said after listening to *Hush now* from Hendrix and Curtis Knight, it changed his vision of music and that was in 1964 way before the first funk-soul hit of JB (Papa has a brand new bag) You can clearly hear Hendrix guitar getting funky. So who invented the funk? Just like jazz it was a fusion of Fela-JB & Hendrix a nice big melting pot that gave us Funk. Thanks Jamkia for you comments.

  • is this Lucille? Did he have a couple guitars named Lucille?

  • Watching this reminds me how blessed we are to have the internet. I mean BB king at like age 30ish-40ish, this is a priceless video and we all get to watch it just as if we were there. 30 years ago these things were not possible, we are so lucky!

  • @dclan86 Check you math, try 41 years ago. Yes we are blessed for this.

  • im 19 listen to rap but when im having a few drinks this is all i wanna hear

  • Oh yeah B.B. This song rocketed him but he was so good every time I saw him who cared what he was playing? I would like to see him do a little more guitar work but who cares now. It's enough to know that he is still playing Lucille.

  • @highschoolmusical841 WTF are you talking about? lol you make no sense

  • bbking is the best fuccing thing that ever happen to us in blues history!

  • Esse é o maior de todos os tempos. Viva B.B King, e sua guitarra magica.

  • best blues guitarist !

  • This song would be great even if it was released for the first time yesterday or tomorrow... which is why I want to kill Justin Beiber and lady gaga.

  • anyone notice there's no cymbals.

  • Grew up listening to this great music with my Parents! Its still great stuff today!

  • wow! raw as shit and awesome!

  • Where the hell are the cymbals of the drum kit, unbeliveble, but is a great song.

  • why did black people invent rap if they can do this stuff soooooo much better

  • @TheDilligan They didn't invent rap. The first American rap song was done by a white funk band, and the first british rap song was done by a white punk band.

  • @PBANDSNOW bullshit man rap was invented in jamaica then brought and thrown over a beat by the blacks in brooklyn it also even has roots in west africa were stories were said rhythmically over drums

  • @libertycaps666 I never said any of that. I said the first AMERICAN and first BRITISH.

  • Comment removed

  • @libertycaps666 The Beats came from *Fela Kuti* and after was James Brown, Maceo Parker and the JB's and Sugar HIll Gang took it and created something more Urban.

  • @VotreDjPocail Fela was openly inspired and influenced by James Brown. Research.

  • @PBANDSNOW You're out of your mind if you think the first American rap song was done by a white funk band. Can you site some references? Which band? What was the "first American rap song"? How do you define a rap song? The history or "rapping" in the US predates hip-hop/rap music as a genre, so naming the "first rap song" is difficult if not impossible. And even if you were correct, it's undeniable that rap is a genre that came out of African-American culture.

  • You put all the new "artist"* of today and still they dont have the soul this man have.

  • просто великолепно, них..я не скажешь

  • 19 people can't find their own thrill. Thumbs up if you feel me.

  • He used to look like Bernie Mac lol

  • My Grandma loved this song...Me too...

  • omg he's black =O

  • hj eu estou tão feliz que escutei essa musica umas 5154864537416586 vezes.

  • You could learn this song note for note, and still never play it like B.B. The amount of soul in those fingers is amazing.

  • The thrill is not gone!

  • He's not singing, he's explaining.

  • @elwood180: best comment I've seen on YT ever.

  • so funny I always knew bb king was a good guitarist, but I found his voice was the real thing.....he was so powerful and astonishing

  • I need that suit, and the talent to go with it

  • BB king, the best blues´s singer ever, i´d never hear another singer like that..

  • Hi, this is a fantastic version of the song. I 'm only puzzled why the rythm goes up all the time, especially at the end.

  • I was ready to take my thrill away, for good, then I heard this and drank my thrill away....but, I'm still here....thanks King

  • Algun fan de bb king me podria decir de un blues en el que cuente la historia de un tipo que por celos mató, baby, en Memphis, Tennessee.. si me pueden ayudar graciaas!!

  • The Thrill is gone reminds me of my mom, she always played it back in the day.

  • Whoah man, what a voice!

  • he plays so great gitar

  • B B is so cool,

he farts liquid nitrogen instead of methane gas.

  • on this movie, he looks like freddie king. i love BB KING!! his voice and his guitar playing! o.O

  • @lucaguitar007 Lol no way does he look like Freddie. BB is BB.

  • I love this song, and I'm only 15..

  • It's 2011, and BB? The thrill has not left you. Your still King of the Blues!!

  • my best friend is only 12 and he has dedecated his spare time to play jimi hendrix and bb king on guitar and im not kidding he can play songs by jimi hendrix already because of how much he practaces.

  • @frozenro Yah we wanted to know about your 12 your old friend

  • I'm free...FREE from yo' spell!

  • sad true blue

  • The ending is timeless

  • Such a beautiful song. It's helping cope through a break up. Don't know what I'd do without blues.

  • nice playing bb king :)

  • Only two other guitarist come close to playing with that much feeling. Hendrix and Srv

  • A man true to himself in every way

  • I don't know what to say... So much feeling!

  • so good!, now we have this regaeton which is totally disgusting...

  • This song always takes me back in time.

  • WHY WAS I NOT ALIVE when the music had a soul the tv had couler and nice cars was made.WHY

  • whoa i just stumbled on this vid a few secs ago and im breathless BB is soo amazing!!! i literally said oh my god when he first started singing <33 loove him now its love at first sound :D

  • Lol bb king is sooo different now. In size of course. But no one beats the king of blues!!!

  • this version is beautiful but i think the live at montreaux has more feel

  • Sounds like this was recorded around the same time Live At Cook County Jail was recorded. Great stuff.

  • bb king you are the man .

  • I'd really like to buy the audio of this session- it's the best version I've heard.

  • @nmoo07 The closest recording I can find to this one is on his Gold Hits album, CD2. Practically identical, but higher quality, with a Fender Rhodes instead of the piano in this one.

  • One of my favorite versions of this song.

the shuffle the drummer provides, perhaps because hes got no cymbals, is hard-hitting and gives the song a groovier feel.

    AwEsOmE!

  • wow the young b.b. king was a legend be life-long

  • thumbs up if the film Casino brought you me here? It happened to me!

  • Anyone else noticed there´s no cymbals on the drums?

I wonder if it sounded better with a ride cymbal or a hi-hat...

    Great video!

  • goosebumps...

  • Here is a universally admired guitarist .

  • omg!WOW!!!got chills....love bb king!

  • black people - come back to making music like that !!!

  • @beautifulworld1988

are you black? if not, then it really isnt your place to say something like that

  • @arabmoney11221 I think he's just saying that the state of black artistry is deplorable today. Any thug that can rhyme any two obscenities is up for a Grammy. This right here is talent. Rap (crap) and hip-hop is not. You'll notice that at no time does B.B use pelvic thrusts or use the pseudo-word HO. And no, I'm not a biggot. I have the same problem with the current crop of so called country singers. I don't recall Buck Owens having any explosions or background dancers.

  • @arabmoney11221

im not black but why my comment has 45 thumps up ?..

  • Watching this vid, Im wondering, whos better musician, if BB King, or Lucille :)

  • una hermosa vos del blues

  • I love this man...this voice...this guitar..

  • até hoje me arrependo de ter perdido o show do B.B KING no Brasil .........q mancada tomara q um dia elle volte ....

  • 17 People have broken ears.

  • Mó Paia !!

  • I'm sorry I know everyone is entitled to their opinions, but how could anyone dislike this video? Are you joking???? I sure hope so.

  • wow, hes so thin!

  • i know its free speech but 16 people need to look at themselves in the mirror

  • BB King put blues on the map along with many other.....but there is something special about what he did, and no one sounded like BB before or after his prime

  • @Strat0Blues I do well in my inner me. everytime I listen to him I cry. and lot of melodies go through my mind reminding me of my late father, who had a soulfull voice but didn't make it. I may just have a hidden talent. if I could learn guitar for sure I will make BB king proud.

  • Some vibes!

  • It may be gone for you BB but I still get goosebumps.

  • @bakedbean37

Me too. The King of the Blues.

  • befor he got lazy and sat down every gig hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • @afterliffe you mean before he got old.. and the bass player is gay :P

  • @afterliffe had a look at your profile perhaps its you who should get real

  • One of my top ten, desert island favorites. Had the privilege of seeing BB perform this song 20 years ago @ a benefit tribute to Roy Orbison - Universal amphitheater.

  • I'm so happy i stumbled on this video. This one of my favorites of BB King's. I've just never seen him young, no disrespect. A living Legend.

  • @SuperTruthful He was 45 years old when the video was made.

  • @Behnsenseb nice maths genius

  • @SuperTruthful ...i'm sure you meant no disrespect...Imagine, Mr BB King, here on this video is appx forty years old...Long Live The King, Mr BB King.

  • So weird to see a drumkit without symbols.

  • He hitched-hiked to Memphis, from the Mississippi Delta; the birthplace of the Blues; it's birth began in the hot cottonfields of the Delta.

And it was on Beale St, in Memphis, Tennessee, were he began. I'm from Tennessee, and I can still remember the Juke Joints, gambling houses, and soul food stores on Beale St., long before it got commercialized.

  • It's hard to believe that at age 85, this legend is still rocking! Lots of people don't realize that he hitchhiked to a studio in Memphis to start his unforgettable career. If you really listen to the words, this song exemplifies why there are so many divorces and break ups. If this ain't one of the most touching songs of all time, I don't know what is.

  • This song gives me chills everytime I hear it, play it, perform it. It says SO much...

    Thx for posting!!

  • wait wen did he get lucile caz it dont sound good without her

  • why dont you guyz shattap and listen

  • @conkyjoe Pretty much the only way this can be considered Fair Use is if you got specific agreement from either BB King himself, his label, or his publishers.

If you are trying to use the education portion, you're unfortunately not safe. The portion of Fair Use for educational purposes is strictly within educational institutions or educational websites for on-line classes.

Not to mention that, you just gave up your "innocent infringer" defense by posting the Fair Use article.

  • @ShaunODead fuck off. this is educating the sad sad people who've not heard the blues

  • @666DILLINGER He asked a question and received the correct answer. If you have an issue with that, take it up with the Federal Government.

I gave him a heads up to take down the fair use warning should anyone decide to take him to court for copyright infringement.

    Know your laws.

  • 13 people have no soul

  • Fuckin Man!

  • I cant listen to this while Im driving cause i get so into it i end up closing my eyes and just rocking along with it sometimes

  • I saw the the B.B. King; Ike & Tina and the Rolling Stones in 1969. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen. The Stones had big quevos to let those guys open for them! B.B. was incredible and could he carry a crowd anywhere he wanted them to go...YES! Ike & Tina were so stage wise at the time you couldn't stop them they just got better as their set went on and TINA! Good good show,,,

  • @lightninwillie Lucky you! can't even think of what I'd give away for a chance to get on that concert!..

  • this is when music had soul, meaning. you dont see that these days anymore. Wish i was alive in that time

  • @b16ef You just gotta step away from mainstream music, there are kids out there playin the blues like there are gona be a thousand tommorows.

  • @b16ef I agree - but try to see BB King in concert today! He still RULES! :) And of course, he still sings this song!

  • @b16ef

If you think music dont have soul and meaning you should turn off tv and look for real music not that crap in tv.

Great song, so shame bad quality of sound.

  • @b16ef oh yeah the bassist is giving his best lol he deserves an award, or you know not. dude the bassist looks fucking bored

  • @b16ef Music still has soul. Just gotta look in the right places. (:

  • @b16ef i like you to introduce to mr Gary Clarck Jr, hes young, and he got soul.

check out "Bright Lights" live at crossroads 2010.

Eric Clapton is trying real hard to find young people that can play

  • @b16ef Ecclesiastes 7:10. I imagine people alive at that time were mourning when Leonard Bernstein was part of the Philadelphia Philharmonic, or the glory days of original country, or Victoria de los Ángeles' prime. The proliferation of music to common man nowadays has created some inspiring work statistically as well.

  • @b16ef There is alot of good stuff out

There is still blues, and rock and roll its just not mainstream

  • @b16ef I beg ti differ sir, the music i listen today embodies the soul of all the greatest composers to have ever lived.

  • @b16ef...Heyhey there, I sort of gather what you mean...But the fact is, you 'can' see, this kind of music, these days, yes,YOU CAN SEE !!!! This kind of music these days ! B B King is still alive and well.

The blues have been around forever, it is heard every day and it will be heard, everyday, forever. Pop fades, styles change...What the saying the more things change the more they stay the same?the blues transcends it all.

  • @b16ef I don't get it. There's no better time to create meaningful music than now, and now is all there is. Creativity is not bound by time. Have you tried looking for modern artists that satisfy you? If you choose to look, you can find some exceptional musicians.

  • @b16ef Check out Chris Cain. He's been playing BB/Albert King, A. Collins/Robben Ford Style Blues for

30 plus years in Northern California. Still touring occasionally. Writes most the material he performs and records. "classic" blues songs you've never heard. A voice bigger than anybody's (cept maybe BB and Albert).

  • Greatest Blues Song/Artist ever

  • Saw BB last night. Age is a cruel thing. He was still great to watch.

  • nice & funky

  • most people look down upon blues guitarists and they are highly underrated but they usually have the most skill of all guitarist as it is 18 of the top 20 guitarist are blues players

  • holy shit, b.b is standing?! sounds the same 40 years ago

  • @thefatpiggytail

Hehe! lol yeah he was 43 here.

  • The ending is PERFECT !!

  • Always loved BB King

  • Maestroooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow, he's changed a lot - wt happened to him?

  • @dvdsmlprstylr B.B king has diabetes that's what happened to him, but he's still a great musician and a wonderful person, also very tealented.

  • @tehcurbster Ok, ok, you don't need to be all defensive, I was only asking. I still admire the guy.

    You need to chillax dude.

  • sweet bb King is the man =)

  • A classic vintage performance, by a legend...

B.B. was in his mid 40's and at the height of his power in 1970...

    Interesting instrumental facts:

B.B.'s on a Gibson ES-355 Stereo (My all-time favorite) which was the basis for his signature "Lucille" model, the left handed bassist playing a late 60's right handed Gibson EB-3 upside down, and the drummer with brushes and no cymbals !

It all made for a classic sound, which still grabs you by the gut...the blues !

  • @gtrDan1963 I love Gibson ES-355, That is Chuck Berry's main guitar.

Dick Dale also played his guitar upside down, which created that classic sound.

  • @dvdsmlprstylr How about Otis Rush ? He's a lefty that plays an ES-355 upside down !!!

    Other notable ES-355 players...

Freddie King, Alex Lifeson, Gary Moore, Robby Krieger, Jimmy Dawkins, Johnny Marr, jazz men Tony Mottola and Mike DeMicco, Elvin Bishop (345 & 355), and if you look at the cover of the Ventures' 1960 "Walk, Don't Run", Guitarist Nokie Edwards has one, and for all the people who've use a Strat on it, "Walk Don't Run" was actually played on a 1959 ES-355 with a Bigsby !

  • sublime tone he milks from his baby!

  • genio... loco siempre con esa viola, admirable

  • look at how thin he was!

  • my favourite song! it took me soooo long to find it. I remember hearing it when I was really young and just loving the guitar in the begining. Thanks for posting this version.

  • So soulful and so graceful.

  • There's no point in talking about this.Artists don't need critics to know if they're good.Good and bad are subjective.Millions of people love lil' Wayne and the plethora of other so called"artists" in the top 40.Does that mean that these people are good? NO! McDonald's is the largest restaurant in the world,so is it the best food?? Art is intended to be used as a form of individualistic expression.Unfortunatly individauality is tough to market.

  • @ShaneBluesRI Well said

  • WTF NO CYMBALS WHY?

  • to those that compare bb king with justin or gaga or any other musican of our generation,im telling you,you have no idea what music is.if you dont think so just answer this question.how many notes are there?

  • wow... he's so young here. Hadn't seen such footage before. Nice :)

  • Wonderful !

  • I can't believe these posts, this is the king of the blues,he could take a guitar and bring tears and joy,he puted his soul right trought his guitar and voice,he is a musician, don't even try to compare him to guys who are made from pre made musics,bb King brings his soul and for that he is know as live legend, sure srv, albert king and many others musicians, could bring the real meaning beyond just playing and singing and for that ,we owe respect to this man...

  • i cant believe you have this. This is awsome look at the start of a legand. thanks for sharing

  • Well he's good, but he ain't no Justin Bieber

  • @camel747

    Are you freaking kidding me?!?!

    Justin beiber = EPIC FAIL

BB King = EPIC FLIPPIN' WIN

  • @Redramsfan

But Bieber has fancy dance moves and really, really cool hair.

    PS I am freaking kidding:)

  • @camel747 Michael Jackson would beat him without trying :)

  • @camel747 We´re glad he is not ;)

  • hes like the biggie smalls of the s 70s

  • very nice tune i get happy for its so nice

  • A Classic!

  • now this is what I like...original videos

  • last of the real blues men

  • Leave it to the king to be so funky.

  • the thrill is gone has so much emotion and power to it.i love this
