B.B. King-The Thrill is Gone with I love music from the, history of other meat-offering a pestilence had guitarra. Your prometo, heard of Thiago justino. Best Guitar.
@jamkia, it was always a war of who invented it the first beetween those 2 (JB & Fela) Even Maceo Parker said after listening to *Hush now* from Hendrix and Curtis Knight, it changed his vision of music and that was in 1964 way before the first funk-soul hit of JB (Papa has a brand new bag) You can clearly hear Hendrix guitar getting funky. So who invented the funk? Just like jazz it was a fusion of Fela-JB & Hendrix a nice big melting pot that gave us Funk. Thanks Jamkia for you comments.

@TheDilligan They didn't invent rap. The first American rap song was done by a white funk band, and the first british rap song was done by a white punk band.
@PBANDSNOW bullshit man rap was invented in jamaica then brought and thrown over a beat by the blacks in brooklyn it also even has roots in west africa were stories were said rhythmically over drums
@libertycaps666 The Beats came from *Fela Kuti* and after was James Brown, Maceo Parker and the JB's and Sugar HIll Gang took it and created something more Urban.
@PBANDSNOW You're out of your mind if you think the first American rap song was done by a white funk band. Can you site some references? Which band? What was the "first American rap song"? How do you define a rap song? The history or "rapping" in the US predates hip-hop/rap music as a genre, so naming the "first rap song" is difficult if not impossible. And even if you were correct, it's undeniable that rap is a genre that came out of African-American culture.

@arabmoney11221 I think he's just saying that the state of black artistry is deplorable today. Any thug that can rhyme any two obscenities is up for a Grammy. This right here is talent. Rap (crap) and hip-hop is not. You'll notice that at no time does B.B use pelvic thrusts or use the pseudo-word HO. And no, I'm not a biggot. I have the same problem with the current crop of so called country singers. I don't recall Buck Owens having any explosions or background dancers.
BB King put blues on the map along with many other.....but there is something special about what he did, and no one sounded like BB before or after his prime
@Strat0Blues I do well in my inner me. everytime I listen to him I cry. and lot of melodies go through my mind reminding me of my late father, who had a soulfull voice but didn't make it. I may just have a hidden talent. if I could learn guitar for sure I will make BB king proud.
One of my top ten, desert island favorites. Had the privilege of seeing BB perform this song 20 years ago @ a benefit tribute to Roy Orbison - Universal amphitheater.

If you really listen to the words, this song exemplifies why there are so many divorces and break ups. If this ain't one of the most touching songs of all time, I don't know what is.

@b16ef Ecclesiastes 7:10. I imagine people alive at that time were mourning when Leonard Bernstein was part of the Philadelphia Philharmonic, or the glory days of original country, or Victoria de los Ángeles' prime. The proliferation of music to common man nowadays has created some inspiring work statistically as well.
@b16ef...Heyhey there, I sort of gather what you mean...But the fact is, you 'can' see, this kind of music, these days, yes,YOU CAN SEE !!!! This kind of music these days ! B B King is still alive and well.
The blues have been around forever, it is heard every day and it will be heard, everyday, forever. Pop fades, styles change...What the saying the more things change the more they stay the same?the blues transcends it all.
@b16ef I don't get it. There's no better time to create meaningful music than now, and now is all there is. Creativity is not bound by time. Have you tried looking for modern artists that satisfy you? If you choose to look, you can find some exceptional musicians.
@b16ef Check out Chris Cain. He's been playing BB/Albert King, A. Collins/Robben Ford Style Blues for
30 plus years in Northern California. Still touring occasionally. Writes most the material he performs and records. "classic" blues songs you've never heard. A voice bigger than anybody's (cept maybe BB and Albert).
most people look down upon blues guitarists and they are highly underrated but they usually have the most skill of all guitarist as it is 18 of the top 20 guitarist are blues players
B.B. was in his mid 40's and at the height of his power in 1970...
Interesting instrumental facts:
B.B.'s on a Gibson ES-355 Stereo (My all-time favorite) which was the basis for his signature "Lucille" model, the left handed bassist playing a late 60's right handed Gibson EB-3 upside down, and the drummer with brushes and no cymbals !
It all made for a classic sound, which still grabs you by the gut...the blues !
@dvdsmlprstylr How about Otis Rush ? He's a lefty that plays an ES-355 upside down !!!
Other notable ES-355 players...
Freddie King, Alex Lifeson, Gary Moore, Robby Krieger, Jimmy Dawkins, Johnny Marr, jazz men Tony Mottola and Mike DeMicco, Elvin Bishop (345 & 355), and if you look at the cover of the Ventures' 1960 "Walk, Don't Run", Guitarist Nokie Edwards has one, and for all the people who've use a Strat on it, "Walk Don't Run" was actually played on a 1959 ES-355 with a Bigsby !
my favourite song! it took me soooo long to find it. I remember hearing it when I was really young and just loving the guitar in the begining. Thanks for posting this version.
There's no point in talking about this.Artists don't need critics to know if they're good.Good and bad are subjective.Millions of people love lil' Wayne and the plethora of other so called"artists" in the top 40.Does that mean that these people are good? NO! McDonald's is the largest restaurant in the world,so is it the best food?? Art is intended to be used as a form of individualistic expression.Unfortunatly individauality is tough to market.
to those that compare bb king with justin or gaga or any other musican of our generation,im telling you,you have no idea what music is.if you dont think so just answer this question.how many notes are there?
I can't believe these posts, this is the king of the blues,he could take a guitar and bring tears and joy,he puted his soul right trought his guitar and voice,he is a musician, don't even try to compare him to guys who are made from pre made musics,bb King brings his soul and for that he is know as live legend, sure srv, albert king and many others musicians, could bring the real meaning beyond just playing and singing and for that ,we owe respect to this man...
that was a very legit title screen

I imagine people alive at that time were mourning when Leonard Bernstein was part of the Philadelphia Philharmonic, or the glory days of original country, or Victoria de los Ángeles' prime. The proliferation of music to common man nowadays has created some inspiring work statistically as well.

@b16ef There is alot of good stuff out
There is still blues, and rock and roll its just not mainstream

@b16ef I beg ti differ sir, the music i listen today embodies the soul of all the greatest composers to have ever lived.

A classic vintage performance, by a legend...
B.B. was in his mid 40's and at the height of his power in 1970...
It all made for a classic sound, which still grabs you by the gut...the blues !
gtrDan1963 1 year ago
@gtrDan1963 I love Gibson ES-355, That is Chuck Berry's main guitar.
Dick Dale also played his guitar upside down, which created that classic sound.
dvdsmlprstylr 1 year ago
