This qawwali has a lot of kalaam that is not written by Bulleh Shah. The Barelvi and Deobandi groups were formed at least 50 years after Bullah passed away. Also I don't think he would use ullo day pathyaan noo in his kalaam. I don't think it is nice to change Bulleh's great kalaam. Milahi

Baba jee's life span was 1640-1758 and yet Madrasa Deoban was founded in 1866 and Madrasa Barailwi was founded about 1880. So it's not Baba jee's words then. How stupidly they changed baba jee's word. These arrogant people doing more harm to their sect than any good.

this kaafi of baba bulleh shah explains everything in simple words that untill unless u haven't found present time perfect master( kamil murshid ) who can lead u to that god. our outer worshipping are useless. because "religion means "realisation of god". after getting enlightened by his murshid (shah inayat), baba bulleh shah wrote in his kalaam that being muslim, hindu,sikh or christian won't make any difference.untill u haven't got the murshid for present time...........who can make u see god

more of a literal translation than a poetic one:
-you sit in vigils, but what do you take from them?
-you turn the rosary, but your heart doesn't turn.
-you wear a cap on your head (a mark of piety), but your intentions are black
-what are you getting from wearing such a cap?
-Bulleh, one can't make yogurt without a starter, regardless of how long you boil the milk for. (This line I understand to be a reference to the need for a spiritual guide (i.e. the starter).

Bulleh shah is refrring to nabi Muhammad (saw) Muhammad wad a prophet like Jesus and Moses. Bulleh Shah was a muslim sufi poet who belive in loving nabi(prophet) Muhammad and Allah. His poetry is around that whetehr you call Allah, God or Bhagwan the same thing.
