@dparedes007 : the Gibson J-200 is a little less under 3000€ in Europe. It's not comparable with an Epiphone EJ-200. That doesn't mean that the Epiphone is a bad guitar; I played one once just before I first tried the Gibson, and it sounded OK, but the Gibson sounded magical at first strum.

I just received my AT-4040 last week :-) I tried making a sample recording on my acoustic guitar. I placed the mic at the soundhole 10-12 in away from the Mic. I could hear this sound coming over my headphones and it was my breathing. LOL I have my Gain at 3/4 of the way up w/o clipping. I'm using PT 9.0 MP. What can I do to get rid of the mic picking up my breathing when it's positioned as low as it is? Do I need a round POP filter or is there a way to adjust something in PT? Thank's :-)

Again a great performance :-) I have a question for you. Just got my AT-4040 Mic and was messing around with placement of the mic. I did first the soundhole the the 12th fret. I kept hearing my own breathing through my headphone. I am using a M-Audio Flashback C-400 I have my gain set about 3/4 on gain scale. Who can I get the breathing under control

Meh, a word or two of advice. #1, learn how to hold a pick. No offense, but that guitar seems a bit above your skill level. #2 try to sing more legato, like hold the notes longer. It's a bit jerky and sounds almost like talking.

Quite good, actually! Good vocals. Excellent sound from your guitar. I've got 3 AT4040's (on loan to a friend, right now), and I am so pleased with them. The sound from such an inexpensive mic such as the AT4040 is nothing short of superb. You might want to get an AT4081 ribbon mic (got one of those, too), and find out how that sounds on guitar, with an AT404 on vocals.

I can also tell you enjoy making music. Don't stop making music, or enjoying it, for any reason (or excuse)!

Have you ever heard of the Sontronics STC-2 Condenser Mic? Trying to decide between that or the AT4040. Only advantage on the Sontronics is the 3 recording patterns. Harder to get as it's from the UK.
