is it possible to incorporate this into game programing? because im going to start learning how to program in C and i could create a surfing game where you control the movement by leaning
I have you seen Project Natale? Do a search for Natale xbox here on youtube and check it out. There's varying opinions on how close this really is to market, but it's looking like some very interesting ideas are on their way.
hi, im working on a AR project on flex using flartoolkit, so im wondering what type of camera did u use? b/c i got 10fps max with a normal webcam .. do u know any special camera for AR? please help me
Hi! We're using a two year old Logitech webcam, nothing fancy. And the computer we're recording on is a two and a half year old Mac. What computer are you using?
im using a dell xps1530 4gb ram, 256mb video, 2.5ghz and an integrated camera 2.0 megapixel... do u think that is a camera problem ? im trying to find a tracking motion camera...
Honestly, I'm more suspicious that it's a PC vs Mac problem, but since I've never tried to record my augmented reality stuff on a PC I'm just guessing.
I just looked it up, and the camera we're using costs about a hundred bucks, it's a Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 coming in through a USB connection. You might want to buy one of those and see if it works any better for you, most stores will let you return it if it's not suitable for your needs.
It is encouraging that more and more people today are validating the search for ulterior constructs of reality through the use of psychedelics. Psychonauts labor under a heavy restriction, prejudice and skepticism from the general population, and its exciting to see more people coming to the conclusion that psychedelics do have legitimate uses in the spiritual and scientific fields. So cheers to the psychonauts AND the theoretical physicists! Keep up the good work Mr. Bryanton!
Do you do drugs? (You don't have to answer that if you don't want to)
I'm asking because I find an amazing correlations to some of the ideas you introduce on your vlogs and some of the conclusions about reality I have come to through the ingestion of psychedelics.
Yes, I've talked about this a number of times - because I have no personal experience with psychedelics, I was unprepared for the number of people who would be contacting me saying there were connections between my way of visualizing how our reality is constructed and their psychedelic experiences. Here's some other entries about that:
Very nice. How did you manage to get the webcam feed so smooth? Whenever I use FLARToolkit the webcam images appear at a frame rate of around 5 fps. Are you using some form of supercomputer?
The choice of type and emboss treatment on the url, along with the black outline on the bubble (white perhaps?) stand out as weaknesses in my opinion. Still, nice concept overall.
Hmm, don't think I've ever seen a comic book "thought balloon" with a white outline rather than a black one. Can you point me to a comic book example where a white outline is used?
Hi Rob, I'm confused. Is the cartoon superimposed over the paper using video editing, or is it some sort of interaction between the paper and the video camera filming in real-time?
That's awesome. Can you send me a link that explains how so much information is packed into the image? I assume it is not just a piece of paper but a projector of some sort embedded behind or in it?
Tell me tell me.. I hate stuff that I can't understand.
All you have to do is go to the link we provide, print out the pdf so you have the same tag I'm holding in the video, then you'll be able to see yourself holding this crazy wakeboarder as you watch yourself in your webcam. It's all code, some of it open source, some of it proprietary stuff we created at the studio, and it all runs under flash! So anybody with a modern browser capable of showing a youtube movie is able to do this without downloading any new software. And I agree, that's awesome!
...and needless to say, what fascinates me about "augmented reality" as a technology is it provides us with a way of thinking about how there could be hidden patterns encoded into our reality, and all we need is to find a way to see them. :)
Hey, you raise a good point, perhaps rendering a tesseract using augmented reality would be a good way to visualize one, with some means of controlling the 4th axis of rotation (keyboard perhaps).
Oh, and hey, just wanted to say, I saw your video on visualizing the 10th dimension 2 years ago(line split fold, line split fold one), unfortunately, I was not about to find it again till only yesterday.
It was a great source of inspiration for me, and I wanted to say thanks for that.
My camera is on .speakers on , nothing happens . Some help ?
