I was working security during a venue at the "Paladium" in Dallas. I was stage-side while God-Smack was playing.
They are truly one of the few bands that Ive heard that sound as well on stage as they do on CD. The GS guys know how to put on a spectacular performance.

tool outsold godsmack with less albums... as for talented musicians try dream theater, all went to juilliard... godsmack is pretty limited, unless you think the voodoo songs are enough to break the monotony of all the other songs... not to mention godsmack was a cover band for it's first few years of playing vs tool that got signed within 3 months of their first gig... and tool hasn't been accused of ripping off other musicians... but godsmack can kick your ass like every other typical rock band

What does that have to do with which band has more talented musicians?!And LIMITED!Go listen to voodoo 1 and 2 then listen to strait out of line then come back and listen to shine down again!And talent isn't about what fucking school you went to!You could go to juilliard and get a masters in music and without talent YOU STILL SUCK!Dream theater sounds more complex because they have more musicians!take away there fucking key bored and

jeez, i guess you didnt happen to know that everyone in Godsmack are talented, but they agree playing that kind of music and not be a show off. and for the record, godsmack wasnt a tribute band at first and its only said that they happen to sound like AIC and that there are some similarities.

unless you want to argue that tool is more mainstream than godsmack, you're the ignorant twit... godsmacks first album sold 4mil, 2nd = 2mil, 3rd =1 mil, 4th album didn't hit plat status... tools albums are 1m, 3m,2m (lateralus) and 3m as of 2007 for 10,000 days... godsmack is losing fans the more people hear them... tool is at least keeping it's fanbase considering they can put out albums that still sell 1million copies... i'm sure voodoo 3, and 10 songs of demons and hate will come back strong

and for the record i loved godsmack's first album... but the last 3 were just trying to copy the first albums success, and that's why their sales have taken a nosedive, godsmack may be talented but they don't vary much at all... and if you don't think godsmack was a cover band, go to their website... they were a band for 2 years before they wrote their first album in 1 weekend...

i saw godsmack at shrine mosque in springfield MO, they have an amazing amount of energy live. honestly they are probably the best concert i ever went too, tool would be a close second live. also incubus and modest mouse are also amazing live

Yeah i hate Crue, but Crue's show was worse than i thought it would be. His voice is completely gone. he sounded like the 4th chipmonk. Godsmack destroyed them. There show was amazing in Clark County.

Well music, in my opinion, such as meanings of songs. People will interpretate as two things. How they can relate to it with their own experiences, and what other people tell them the song is about. Badass song regardless.
