  • my drum seat smells so badly.

  • How fast is the metronome?

  • i just have trouble controlling my feet.

  • try playing this with one foot.

  • EVERYONE should practice starting with your left foot opposed your right foot. This will increase control and reaction time and will build it tremendously. When you start adapting with your left you will notice many more advantages. Furthermore, don't be scared to mirror play on your snare along with mixing it with your drum set. Do It, Your welcome!

  • Doesn't matter if there is emphasis or not, in relation to his click track, those are triplets.

  • It still burns my leg to keep the 16 beat on the double pedal..

  • @GoLDraG0N that was always happen, but over time the burn takes longer for you to feel, im just getting into 32nd notes... "barely"... but the 16nth notes i can do for a full minute or more before i tire out, Endurance comes with time, just keep playin :)

  • @GoLDraG0N is ur led ok?

  • I usually do crazy solos for warmups, that's much more fun and really warms you up.

  • @Hy22n ha ha me too!

  • okay

  • Is this guy fucking canadian?????

  • your triplet aint triplet at all.. u just did a 16th at a faster beat..

  • @laryo123 Try counting along with it mate, those are triplets

  • @TheDrumsticks91 man.. im serious.. its not triplet at all.. ahahahahahahaha..

  • @laryo123 On second thought, I do see your point. Depends on how you look at it, but I do get your perspective

  • @TheDrumsticks91 now u see it.. when u say triplet.. in a count.. out of four or six or three.. a count plays 3 notes.. tagada tagada instead of tagataga.. gets?.. thats what a triplet should sound.. what i heard from him is tagatagatagataga.. i really ddnt find any hint of triplet at all.. sorry for insisting..

  • @laryo123 ABSOLUTLY untrue. those are in the speed triplets should be. BUT they're the worst "triplets" I've ever heard, cause they have absolutly no emphasis. And if they would have emphasis, they would be in groups of six and not three... So in away you're right, but they are exactly in the speed triplets should be, sure of that.

  • We get it! Ure Canadian! Talk lyk a normal human being now!!!

Nice warm ups ha btw.. :P

  • OMG, the mics must have costed 3000 bucks!

  • ok...ok...alright...ok...ok...ok...

  • I love how they got the metronome on all these vids... It really sets a good example on how to practice... Practicing with a metronome is probably the most important practice tip I ever got...

  • Canada Eh?

  • hey. thanks for the tips but im realy interested in that sound from the bass. what tuning and or mufaling do you use?

  • this guy looks like the dude from whitest kids you know. haha sweet vid tho

  • Dave..Dave..look at the camera Dave..

  • "Practice is good but Passion on what you are doing is the greatest Practice that you can have... Drums is just Drums with out passion" ~YF

  • Awsome pedals. For anyone who has never tried yamaha pedals. They are (in my opinion) the most underated pedals. I never heard much about them and when I was at Long and mcquade just waiting around I tried a yamaha double pedal and I have never looked back. They are just a no BS pedal that are super well made and I really think people overlook them. They are priced right as well. Just try a yamaha pedal. I bet most drummers will be very suprised.

  • @jordanjcm i agree. i use iron cobras. but i started on a yamaha double pedal. and they are really good but you dont hear anybody talk about them.

  • @toynazi that's because they've probably never heard of it.

  • Why are drums so expensive FML

  • @brandonhickey1 i agree with that

  • jaja que gordo hijo de puta

  • Hey if you have any tips can you please let me know.. but when i play double bass consistently i have no problem doing with taping the ride but when i break it up to where i am doing the bass like (1& 2 &3 &4 &,) i play the bass on the (1, 3&) but when i hit it on the 3 & quick i tend to move my hand with it as well instead of keeping a constant beat. wht can i do to improve that?

  • @hharp617 Start out as slow as you can while keeping the beat. Then move from quarters, to eighths, then to 16th notes and so on. You have to get good at doing it slow before you can jump to drumming full speed.

  • ok...

  • cool :D

  • lets see your video you jealous assholes

  • Those were some VERY sexy socks...

  • I've been playing for 4 years now & I can barely accomplish the simplest speeds. Non of the exercises I try work. What should I do?

  • ..isn't that shirt a little tight?

  • yay! playing drums with no shoes! =]

  • @systeminfinite I can't play with shoes either. doesn't feel right and I can't play as fast do to the weight. So even in the skankiest of stages, I will play in my socks. :P

  • yay! plying drums with no shoes! =]

  • There are no shortcuts to drumming really. It's just practice, practice, practice until you're able to go faster, then you just keep building and building. It generally takes years to get where extreme metal players are at.

That's why patience is a key to everything.

  • k man thanks dats what i figured jus makin sure there wasnt some epic secret i was unaware of

  • hey so if anyone could answer this that would be great.. how lose or tight would u put ur bass pedals at for beats of this speed?

  • @willlify Its just what ever you prefer dude :)

  • @willlify it really depends on what your going to play, and how comfortable you are playing with certain tensions, although do try and keep both pedals at the same tension or check if they have the same amount of spring action, I hope you understand me lol, sorry my grammer suck im from Mexico hope this helps

  • No shoes drumming FTW

  • My tempo is OK but my muscles stamina is terrible, haha...need some patience to build up some strength, aren't I? How long should I work it out in a simple single stroke as a warm up to build my leg strength? Any suggestion? :D

  • are you supposed to use the ball of your foot or do you just lift your whole foot up and down? I get twitchy beats instead of consistent tempo beats. Mostly because my right leg is more dominant than my left but maybe my technique is wrong also.

  • @biotoxin21 start slow and go at a pace you can manage, i would avoid his second pattern as that just give the left leg a rest and isnt going to make it strong.

  • @krusher74 Cool thanks for the reply. Also i have a question. I just got my gibraltar double bass pedal but i think the default spring tension is too loose. I keep going like warp speed out of control with leg twitches etc. Should i increase spring tension?

  • I dont even have a fucking ride cymbal yet this is bullshit

  • @phg657 LoL!!!!

  • @phg657 I only have a crash that's all cracked. You're lucky. Though I do have a Hi-Hit that's fine.

  • Ok!

  • thanks for the tips really appreciate it.........its important for a double pedal beginers like me..

  • ok!

  • how can I build up stamina and coordination like at the first part of the video?

  • @w0lfie292 just pratice at a pace you can manage and keep working on it, its like training for a marathon, you have to work up to it.

  • thank you

  • u suck dick fat ass bitch

  • Does anyone know what double pesal he is using?

  • @ethan7447 im pre sure its either a set of iron cobras or axis

  • @imacoollikedat They are yamaha man.

  • This is why these are FREE videos, nobody in their right mind would pay for this.

  • Stop sayin' O.K.!!!

  • @ariduvalin Please uninstall you're computer and NEVER comment again :)

  • ok

  • Its all good its all about helping each and everyone of us out no matter what level we are... Thanks for the video kiddo Much love... DFC

  • okey

    But seriously, thanks.

  • press 8 it sounds like he says fwop time

  • hit 2 over and over again.

"NOT ON THE DRUM SET DAMNIT":D

  • @CivicAutomatica its called double bass warm up.there double bass pedals, but when you use them its called doube bass

  • ok....ok.....ok?....ok

  • press 1 and 2 repeatly lol! jajaja

  • okay getting flipped off at 0:53 okay.

  • OKEY

  • lol @ egotistical trolls who can't play drums.

  • this guy is most likely a better drummer than anyone who has posted a negative comment on here.

  • nice farmers tan xD

  • damn canadians,,, ok?

  • U guys are very mature.

  • dude eats dick head cereal! haha!! nice boobies, you fucking suck!

  • are you fucking idiots? what do you think he will play like chris adler ? I fucking hate to see at every drums video negative comments by ''PRO'' drum players.

This is a warm up exercise dickheads, and its preety good. He offers free drums lessons so if you dont like it stfu PROS

  • @JimInFlames and also the sheet music n stuff.....this is the best drum lessons on youtube (and spikeydrummer) and they are proffesionally done ..... these are awesome

  • @dionf23 Thumbs up for Spikeydrummer!

  • @JimInFlames Most of the people talking shit are shitty drummers that need a self esteem boost.

  • @JimInFlames Your point is entirely valid, warm up for double bass drum beginners, everyones gotta start somewhere. Your inference that Chris Adler is something resembling a good drummer is worrying however.

  • @jimzero1 Well you know he is a preety good drummer... for me top is kolias

  • @JimInFlames This is entirely opinion, with no "right" answer I know, but for me Chris Adler is an extremely mediocre drummer, George Kollias however is right near the top end of the list (for metal drummers anyways). That's my opinion for what its worth, I assume that since you're familiar with George that John Longstreth, Flo Monier, Derek Roddy, Marco Pitruzelli and James King would be on your radar? It's drummers like these that make me have little regard for the Chris Adlers of the world...

  • @jimzero1 ofc, derek roddy is a beast! Im not saying chris adlers can play like this guys, he focuses more on fitting the drums with the guitar

  • @JimInFlames THANK YOU

  • ok,ok,ok, please STOP SAYING ok,ok?

  • Bass drum sounds nice

  • i love freedrumlessons(dot)com videos

  • i love freedrumlessons(dot)com video

  • is he Canadian?

  • @hemmingway28 yep

  • ok!.....OK!....ok!....OK!....ok!....OK!

  • Is it me or does he sound like Kermit the Frog??

  • @Chuddy65 nah he's just canadian. eh ?

  • @Chuddy65 It's not you :p

  • at freedrumlessons they're realy into camera angle changes in the beginning of their clips

  • you sound like a faggot

  • play like a MAN.

  • does this guy think we're retarded...

  • this may be a stupid question, but what are the measurements of a double bass pedal? are they all the same size? because i'm thinking of getting one but i don't want it to be too big for my kit. somebody please tell me :)

  • @CommanderDaz Unlike drums, pedals are not defined by measurements, they are defined for the drive (chain, strap or mechanic), beaters (felt, plastic, wood, rubber) and board (regular or long), however, there might be some other custom features according to manufacturers. Make some good research, have a nice day and enjoy playing with the new pedal you will acquire... Cheers!

  • @javierlocutor oh ok thank you :)

  • He should be alternating feet on the 2 8th notes in the second beat.....

  • @olsalesd Not necesarily, sometimes it's easier to keep the beat the way he does it.

  • @Hooray4drums

    Yeah actually you're right.

  • this is sum seirus garbage.

  • dave atkinson shake those canadian man titties

  • i dont think this guy is experienced enough to give drum lesson here, which derek roddy already gave better, just search for derek roddy and get tons of better exercises for legs and hands. this canadian guy is a joke with a drumkit and a webcam..

  • @Molotok666 At least it's not as bad as expert village...

  • Comment removed

  • @BJCResource i know its like pfft expert village my ass i can do better

  • @BJCResource

    lmao they ruined themselves

  • he sounds canadian o.O

  • @Nathaniel6342 Because he is......

  • @benson1ification No shit Sherlock.

  • Comment removed

  • @Nathaniel6342 huh...I do need to poop. Thanks! :P

  • MAN TITS LOL!

  • I want to see this drummer play Bleed on his drumset

  • @frajel123 Haake learned it for 3 months, do you really think he is able to play that?

  • @maqprus did u mean haake as a laugh? but sure, anyone can play that, just need.... LOTS of experience

  • I'm trying to understand how this is a lesson

  • okay

  • oviously this aint u

  • OK.

  • one thing this guy doesnt say which is very important is to do each exercise leading with the left foot as well as just the right. but otherwise good video!

  • I just got my DW 9000 pedals and when I first got them I played them and I was fast and everything 2 days dlater and now I can hardly keep the double bass rolling :/ It may be cuz my legs are tired or I think it's because my pedals are brand new and need to be tightened the springs if anyone knows anything can you help please?

  • @casemanoh7 Start slow, build it up.

    Everyone has their days.

  • @casemanoh7 If you start playing fast without building the foundation slowly, you're bound to get what I call a block on your feet.

  • @MrNicoAug Thanks yeah I'm going to start slow with them. It sucks cuz I was pretty fast with my old crappy pedals and the dw 9000's are super light It's taking time to get used to them.

  • He reminds me of luke of modern family....

  • whats this guy talking aboot?

  • i dont get "Triplets" they just sound like the normal one but faster? help anyone? no hate comments please, i dont read music or whatever i just started playing and i want to learn. :D thanks

  • @CrazyCauly ok, if you have 'straight' notes then your playing something like

    '1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and' or '1 ee and a 2 ee and a 3 ee and a 4 ee and a' and a whereas with triplets it's like '1 and a 2 and a 3 and a 4 and a'

other people could probably explain it better, but i hope that helps :]

  • @95keeton ohhhhhhh thanks :D

  • @CrazyCauly no problem, just glad you understand it now :]

  • killer click man

  • it also helps when you have a direct drive pedal......like in the video

  • one other thing dude. when you find the sweet spot, bolt them fuckers right down. hopefully you are not chassing your bass around right now, as that would totally blow the balance off

    good luck

  • I can't even go this fast yet and i've been playing with double bass pedals for a year now... I don't know what i'm doing wrong...

  • @5dayslater

id bet you need to re-evaluate your seat height, foot oposition on the pedal, swing arc length and sppring tension. Get a teacher to help you with that.

    bass head too soft?

  • @derwoody1 I'm sooo glad you said that and yes my bass head is soft so that I look at it. I didn't seat the seat height, foot oposition on the pedal, or swing arc or anything. When i try to do faster double bass it's almost like i lose balance on my throne. Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.

  • @5dayslater glad i could help.

a litlle trick i try to get new drummers to go through, is have them sit down on a throne, with paper on the floor. tell them to assume a comfortable position for playing the drums. circle their feet on the paper, the center axis of the seat, and there you have the template for where the pedals go. set the pedals and then experiment with height to find endurance and comfort. the arc and spring tension go hand in hand. experiment

    rock on bro

  • gotta be from canada

  • @mandatieman what do you mean...?

  • @mandatieman Canadians are fundamentally the same as Americans, so I really don't know what you're getting at here...

  • my favorite drummerz are canadian- no offense intended

  • OKAY. OKAY. ALRIGHT. OKAY. OKAY. ALRIGHT.

  • oke oke oke okey

  • I want to touch and feel you

  • That drum set sounds like sex....

  • Can I Hug You Please ^ ^

  • Okey.

    Okey.

Six-tainth nohtes ahn theh dubble bess.

  • Wow your beaters and your double bass pedal are complete garbage... round felt beaters? Cmon really... Other then that you've got a nice set, tuned very nice

  • I didnt no jona hill played drums.

  • would you tell it to thomas haake that he has great tits?

  • demon drive?

  • @rocketman987654321 Flying Dragons.

  • @rocketman987654321 no....deamon drive dosent have that beater

  • @insidethefire1 so you cant change the beater on the demon drives

  • @rocketman987654321 oh im sure you can...but you know how the demon drive has the little circle thingy near the top of the foot bored....i dont thing that that double pedal has that

  • @insidethefire1 oh yeah your right it just looked like it cuzz of the hinge thing that replaced the chain

  • okay!!!
