EVERYONE should practice starting with your left foot opposed your right foot. This will increase control and reaction time and will build it tremendously. When you start adapting with your left you will notice many more advantages. Furthermore, don't be scared to mirror play on your snare along with mixing it with your drum set. Do It, Your welcome!
@GoLDraG0N that was always happen, but over time the burn takes longer for you to feel, im just getting into 32nd notes... "barely"... but the 16nth notes i can do for a full minute or more before i tire out, Endurance comes with time, just keep playin :)
@TheDrumsticks91 now u see it.. when u say triplet.. in a count.. out of four or six or three.. a count plays 3 notes.. tagada tagada instead of tagataga.. gets?.. thats what a triplet should sound.. what i heard from him is tagatagatagataga.. i really ddnt find any hint of triplet at all.. sorry for insisting..
@laryo123 ABSOLUTLY untrue. those are in the speed triplets should be. BUT they're the worst "triplets" I've ever heard, cause they have absolutly no emphasis. And if they would have emphasis, they would be in groups of six and not three... So in away you're right, but they are exactly in the speed triplets should be, sure of that.
I love how they got the metronome on all these vids... It really sets a good example on how to practice... Practicing with a metronome is probably the most important practice tip I ever got...
Awsome pedals. For anyone who has never tried yamaha pedals. They are (in my opinion) the most underated pedals. I never heard much about them and when I was at Long and mcquade just waiting around I tried a yamaha double pedal and I have never looked back. They are just a no BS pedal that are super well made and I really think people overlook them. They are priced right as well. Just try a yamaha pedal. I bet most drummers will be very suprised.
okay as helpful as this warm up is, why is it that when I add the snare while doing the "one & ah" part of this bass drum excercise my brain is confused? Am I doing something wrong?
Hey if you have any tips can you please let me know.. but when i play double bass consistently i have no problem doing with taping the ride but when i break it up to where i am doing the bass like (1& 2 &3 &4 &,) i play the bass on the (1, 3&) but when i hit it on the 3 & quick i tend to move my hand with it as well instead of keeping a constant beat. wht can i do to improve that?
@hharp617 Start out as slow as you can while keeping the beat. Then move from quarters, to eighths, then to 16th notes and so on. You have to get good at doing it slow before you can jump to drumming full speed.
@systeminfinite I can't play with shoes either. doesn't feel right and I can't play as fast do to the weight. So even in the skankiest of stages, I will play in my socks. :P
There are no shortcuts to drumming really. It's just practice, practice, practice until you're able to go faster, then you just keep building and building. It generally takes years to get where extreme metal players are at.
@willlify it really depends on what your going to play, and how comfortable you are playing with certain tensions, although do try and keep both pedals at the same tension or check if they have the same amount of spring action, I hope you understand me lol, sorry my grammer suck im from Mexico hope this helps
My tempo is OK but my muscles stamina is terrible, haha...need some patience to build up some strength, aren't I? How long should I work it out in a simple single stroke as a warm up to build my leg strength? Any suggestion? :D
are you supposed to use the ball of your foot or do you just lift your whole foot up and down? I get twitchy beats instead of consistent tempo beats. Mostly because my right leg is more dominant than my left but maybe my technique is wrong also.
@biotoxin21 start slow and go at a pace you can manage, i would avoid his second pattern as that just give the left leg a rest and isnt going to make it strong.
@krusher74 Cool thanks for the reply. Also i have a question. I just got my gibraltar double bass pedal but i think the default spring tension is too loose. I keep going like warp speed out of control with leg twitches etc. Should i increase spring tension?
are you fucking idiots? what do you think he will play like chris adler ? I fucking hate to see at every drums video negative comments by ''PRO'' drum players.

this may be a stupid question, but what are the measurements of a double bass pedal? are they all the same size? because i'm thinking of getting one but i don't want it to be too big for my kit. somebody please tell me :)
@CommanderDaz Unlike drums, pedals are not defined by measurements, they are defined for the drive (chain, strap or mechanic), beaters (felt, plastic, wood, rubber) and board (regular or long), however, there might be some other custom features according to manufacturers. Make some good research, have a nice day and enjoy playing with the new pedal you will acquire... Cheers!

When i try to do faster double bass it's almost like i lose balance on my throne. Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.
a litlle trick i try to get new drummers to go through, is have them sit down on a throne, with paper on the floor. tell them to assume a comfortable position for playing the drums. circle their feet on the paper, the center axis of the seat, and there you have the template for where the pedals go. set the pedals and then experiment with height to find endurance and comfort. the arc and spring tension go hand in hand. experiment
Wow your beaters and your double bass pedal are complete garbage... round felt beaters? Cmon really... Other then that you've got a nice set, tuned very nice
