A late answer to you Derhorn, the ppl in the musical was nearly all the same, and so were the dances (as far as I've seen from the Gbg) altho im not 100% sure!
About the orchestra,it was about 10 ppl I think,if thats large or not,I dont know
I heard the Swedes had a different version( Choreography that is). Honestly, I don't like it. There is only ONE Jellicle Ball, the original as choreographed by Gillian Lynne. If the rest of the world from London and B'way to Melbourne and Tokyo keep to the original script .. so should the Swedes
Amazing!! It's interesting to see a different version.... I played Exotica october 09 in PR...... I'm loving this! Thank you for uploading this video!
I don't know if anyone shares my opinion but the instrumental and music, especially at the beginning, sounds much more ... 'cat-like', much more playfully than in the original productions and so does the choreo; it's like I imagine cats' music to 'dance' to if you know what I mean XD
Tantomille and Coripocat (Katja Kortström is the female) was great! They did extrodinary things and I still wounder how they did some off they moves. Ill really hopes that other musicals/Cats productions hire thoose two. Johan.
Its the same set and most of the actors are the same. What Ive heard the set was driven from gothenburg in 18 trucks. What Ive remember they evolved the cheorography to even higher hights in Stockholm. Johan.
This show was really good in Gothenburg. I haven't seen the Cirkus version of it yet. But I know that the director and coreographer are same as in Gothenburg. Gothenburg Opera band was really amazing, they played very well.
Mainly its in teh piano parts its clearly noticed thats Cirkus gotta buy better stuff to conguer with gothenburg opera house ^^ Generally the music is good played but lacks in depths and aqustic... Johan.
When comparing this music to the examples from stockholm (try browse Macavity) its clearly that Gothenburg orchestra is superior to the Circus one! They have more deapth and a greater "volume" in the music. Sometimes in the Macavity part I got the sence that Circus is using an old school type baby piano as theyre main instrument... Johan.
About the costumes: Its a bit hard to see from that distance but I think its generally the same for thoose actors redoing theyre part or if theyere just reusing things that works. I think I saw that some rings "missing" on the acrobats (Black and yellow cats) costumes but I am not sure. But why change something that works? Johan.
is this the same as the stockholm one? i watched it the other week but its hard to tell if the costumes is the same, the scene looks the same though :)
It was great :-) Yea great orchestra and from what I can see the dancing was a bit better and even more cat like in stockholm so its definately worth a visit.
I dont know whats about rights and stuff but if anyone happens to "forgot" to turn theyre camera off I would love to have a sequense from b4 the songs starts, with the cat on the wall. Id loved that part :-) Johan.
Interesting to see how much that was simular to the stockholm version. I thaught that the tivolly setting was invented for stockholm but I guess it works in gbg to. As I can recall it the dance was better in stockholm thou. Was the wall in gbg to?
I like the acrobatic style of this dance.
