  • WHAT CAMErA DO YOU USE TO FFILM IN HD?!?!?!

  • I use a canon Vixia HG20. Well worth the price.

  • WOW this is HOT & HEAVY !!!!!

    AWESOME VIDEO :-)

  • awesome i like the new hd

  • Nice video man!! You must be happy with your new camera. I caught that same train today.

  • nice! thanks ya i love this camera.

  • Great vid man! I am modelling 1806 at present from the sad rendition that Proto 2000 brought out lol. Pretty sad when you have to repaint a factory painted model the correct colour. lol shot at Porky jct eh lol. I think I have a shot a few from there as well but I like going into Swastika and walking down to the wye for video.

  • lol yup good ol porky! i also have a model of 1806, its bright yellow! i was kinda pissed off but i dont want to attemp a re-paint. i would probably mess it up.

  • LOL I do custom model work as a side business. I mixed the tangerine/yellow and masked everything off then repainted the cab, battery boxes and behind the cab and also the rear end. I also replaced the numbers on the side of the cab as they were too large and the wrong font for the ONR. I then superdetailed the unit. I just finished putting the correct steps on ti and now I have to make the correct handrails.

  • whoa nice! how much would it cost to get mine super detailed?

  • Well contact me through you tube msging and we'll talk.

  • I also do custom work as a side business !

I thought the PROTO 2000 ONR GP38's were about bang on except for the headlight above the cab where the bell should be !!!!!

I customized a complete Northlander train

and I'm making more, this time they'll be more accurate :-)

  • The only thing that was almost bang on about the Proto units was the paint lol. This was a US GP38-2 version with Canadian paint on it. I have a Northlander Sylvan Scale Models ONR TEE train that I have still have yet to put together. They only made 500 of them and when I heard about them (5 or so years ago) I immediately placed an order for one. I got kit number 478 of 500. They came with everything needed including trucks, decals and interiors.

  • yeah everything is american with a Canadian paint scheme, except for stuff from Rapido !

you know now that there is a ready to roll Northlander TEE train from Marklin or ??? somewhere in that line for $600.00

  • I seen the Marklin set and likely would have bought it if it had an FP7 with it. I have 4 FP7's now painted for the ONR and 1 I did as Northlander 1985 with operating ditch lights and beacon on the roof. I have 7 of the Rapido ONR pass cars and yes they are prototypical EXCEPT for day nighter car 856 this car has the wrong windows in it. I am now waiting for the cafe bar lounge, caboose, and steam genny from Rapido.

  • ONR coach 856 was converted from a VIA Rail sleeping car !

  • Yes I know, I rode in 856 up to Moosonee in 2006. The baggage car from Rapido is pretty good although 414 is the only one that Rapido did correctly. The rest of the numbers he did have 6 wheel heavyweight trucks under them on the real cars.

  • well here is an easy solution !

buy Rapido's 3 axle trucks, if they're still available !

  • Ha well not so much an easy solution!! I bought the 410 and after I noticed that it had the wrong trucks under it, I bought the Rapido 6 wheel trucks and thought they would be easy install. NOT SO, I had to modify them and after it was all said and done they didn't sit properly and they were too far forward. Not everything is cut and dry man! Sorry

  • it is for me ! I make it work !

if you're experienced and you know what you're doing - it'll work out !

you'd just have to relocate our mounting points further back ! it's easier than you think ! :-)

I've been in the customizing biz, for about 7 years.

  • northlander30 is amazing at doing custom work too. you should see how nice his stuff is.

  • I know it's been awhile since this comment lol but i was just re-reading these and I have never actually walked down to the wye in swastica. it's a good spot you say?

  • Swastika is a great place for video! Just walk down to the wye and set up, The ONR doesn't use the north end of the wye hardly ever only the south leg when heading to Rouyn/Noranda QC.

  • hey dude another great Northlander vid no one can beat this!

  • Looks amazing in HD, how did you get it like that??

  • thanks for the comments ryan, its like this thanks to my new camera! i love it, it has amazing quality.

  • Great new camera Joey. Good video, nice "n" speedy
