I didn't like this movie cause it felt like they were trying to make Roger Moore young at any possible chance. I wish they'd accept his age and make a movie around that.
Perhaps the director should put girls with at least around 40's to play in this film as Bond Girls to company 56' Roger Moore. It is very horrible to see kissing scene between a girl and an old man, just like watching Lolita. In Octopussy it works very well, Maud Adams is really like Moore's partner in crime, an adult woman.
Trying to find this YT sucks now! One of my fav actors (Walken) and one of my all time fav chicks (Roberts) fav Bond actor cool flick damn YT! This opening is cool! Downside, Grace Jones's UGLY ass is in it YUCK!
I think this is a great movie, actually one off Moores best. Much off the reason I love it is because the fucking great villain, that is Max Zorin =) Walken did a terrific job!
Only James Bond can ski straight down a slope and not fall over! LOL That's what made the old Bond films so great - all the stunts were real - no CGI. The shot of Bond going down the slope is so cool.
I just can't help but feel a little disturbed by Bond's womanizing in this film. I know its Bond, but come on, the age?! I reacted the same to Connery in NSNA. What these actresses will do for big money...
Love this Bond movie, also like the fact that Bond didn't kill anyone apart from the helicopter crew. Seems like the kill count went up during the 90s for Bond, not thats it's bad but shows an interesting development I believe. :-)
@KiggeSand its funny. I grew up with Moore as Bond and always thought James Bond was a Mr. Magoo type character. Like someone who trips and falls onto a lever that conveniently takes out his opponent. I gotta say I like the more "tough guy" Bonds better.
A lot of people hated this film. I don't know why, its one of the best. This was the first Bond film by brother saw and he inspired me to watch them. If it wasn't for this film, I would never have dreamt of watching any of them. I am a bigger fan of the James Bond films now than I was before watching this one. OHMSS and QOS were equally the worst two, followed shortly by FYEO, TMWTGG and TWINE
So he walks into a London office and makes a face. I'd love it if that was the whole film. Lights up. Stop off at the popcorn counter on your way out.
I love the whole James Bond collection but Roger Moore looked pathetically old here, he was 59 ffs, Dalton could have made this film an even better masterpiece
He was actually 56. The movie was shot in 1984 and he wasn't 57 until after all the scenes had already been filmed.
Moore reluctantly did Octopussy (James Brolin did screen tests for the movie) and only did AVTAK for a lot of money (Connery did the same for Diamonds Are Forever in 1971).
Dalton was great, but even him couldn't have made AVTAK into a "masterpiece".
It's underrated and Walken is great, but The Living Daylights was a major improvement of the series.
Besides, whoever does take adventure movies seriously anyhow? Very few Iranians were annoyed by "300" which portrayed them as beasts that worship goats and with a pierced drag-queen of a king ruling them. Heck, the joke was on the idiots who really thought 300 was historically accurate. Read all the dumb videogame playing kids and ignorant jocks.
Most Germans today laugh at how bufoonish and over-the-top evil they come across in WW2 movies.
Exactly thats what any real under cover agent would have done but seeing as its bond he has to give a massive chase and it has to be slightly OTT when he could have just hide in the snow and they wouldnt have been able to have found him.
For those that love to complain about Roger Moore's age in this film I point out to observe Sean Connery in 1983's unofficial Bond movie Never Say Never Again and tell me who actually looks older. People think Roger Moore was too old for the Bond girls in this movie but imagine Sean Connery making out with the chick in the iceberg and then get back to me. Need I point out that Moore is three years OLDER than Connery. Roger Moore still aged far more gracefully than Connery.
Your a complete idiot Craig and dalton are the only two actors who are the closet too the actural charater u obviously have no idea how bond is suppose to be in the novels hes not some charming polite man who goes around joking and Occasionally killing ppl who try to kill him hes a cold blooded killer like that of an ex SAS soilder the charater created for most of the films is Not the bond Ian flaming wrote connery was tough enough so he prob didnt mind when the first films out.
@charlieiscool1000 well obviously you havent seen craigisnotbond . com- Timothy Dalton yes he is good but Daniel Craig? only CR was his decent film- QOS was the worst bond film ever made (even more than Die Another Day) atleast Pierce Brosnan is likeable and charamsatic sure he is nothing compared to the bond written in the books so big deal BESIDES Bond in the books (and the classic films) was from the navy not some Cliched Generic SAS man who Stalone and Arnie come from
Um yes i did and so did every other stupid fucker and that website was made by broasan fan boys in 06 it was years ago now that was even before casino royle came out which is one of the best new bonds ive seen in a long time die another day was terrible complete shit the only good part of that film was the first 25 mins then after everything went down hill and yes Craig could tone the action down abit but hes a proper killer Brosnan was not tough enough and looked like a pretty boy.
@charlieiscool1000 wait even the first 25mins? DAD was terrible from the titlesequence they should have just made Everything or Nothing into a film instead. But Daniel Craig well i liked Casino Royale but i will never ever forgive him for being in the Goldeneye Wii remake
When a local theater in my hometown was closed, on the last day they showed classical films (like Jaws and Conan) i went to see this with my friend. It was amazing to see this on the big screen.
No he wasnt he was crap Datlon was much closer too the Character of bond and lot more darker and real in fact Brosnan looked weak compard too him lol but good old roger was an English gentleman
Truly is a fantastic opening sequence, part of a fantastic Bond film and just a downright enjoyable adventure! I do agree with Sir Roger, when he says the series was going darker (as evidenced by Zorin's psychotic killing spree of innocents in the mine towards the end) but overall A VIEW TO A KILL acts as a nice stepping stone between the lighter elements of the Moore years and the harder Dalton edge. This is one of my all-time favourite films!
Here we are in 1985, and this was Moore's swan song. He was too old to play Bond on this film, but what the hell, that's my only flaw for AVTAK.
AVTAK is to this day, one of my favorite of the Bond series. The plot involving the destruction of Silicon Valley to take control of the market was one of the best, and I could call AVTAK a true remake of Goldfinger, but a lot better.
This film's locations are fantastic, crossing Paris, as well as northern France, as well as
San Francisco, f***ing awesome. I've always wanted James Bond to visit a city like that. Not only that, but the action in Moore's final outing is epic, such as Bond chasing May Day up the Eiffel Tower, the Fire Truck Chase and a fantastic way to go out as Bond in his best & final fight scene which takes place on the Golden Bridge.
This installment featured one of my favorite, if not my favorite villain - Max Zorin played by the excellent Christopher Walken. I wont go on, but I give this a 9.
This is one of the worst intros of the series, mainly b/c of the awful 'California Girls' cover. But it's also fairly obvious that the producers didn't even bother to send Moore to the location where most of the sequence was filmed. All of Moore's appearances in the intro were either filmed on a set and/or against a blue screen.
yeah it is good its also comes on near the end during the Golden gate bridge fight the songs called "hes dangrous" but i dont know if u can download it prob from youtube just type it in

Timothy Dalton could make this one into one of the best Bond film.
It has wonderful location, perhaps the best : Paris and San Fransisco..is there any other contender?
The soundtrack is my most favorite, one of the best.
And Max Zorin, never a Bond villain made me feel frighten like Walken did in this film, super cold-blood, cool, and merciless.
Only Tanya's frenetic screaming with aging Moore made this film out of the best Bond films I think

Who is the name of that chick?? Fuckin gorgeous, I will be very disappointed if Moore did a sex scene with her due to his age. So it's just a kiss..
Max Zorin for me is the most crazy and merciless Bond's villain ever.. That's made this film worth-watching.
