What's the point. With Obama set to pull the rug from under the back-to-the-moon program, this rover will end up sitting in a NASA storage shed somewhere for the rest of its days.

I love this thing. On this video, it looks like it feels right at home with farm equipment as it does look like something you would use on the farm. I am so glad they want to go to the moon again. I am tired of hearing people complain about the cost and space travel is a waste of time and money. All I can say is, those people must think this planet will be here forever. Nothing lasts forever, Earth is no exception. We owe it to our future generations.

The LER looks like a very functional piece of engineering. Not to sound like I'm pining for the days when toasters were crafted to look like they could time travel, but there's something to be said for inspirational design; the kind of stuff that kids can look at and think, "Wow, I want to drive that thing!" The LER's aesthetic, is kind of passe IMO. But then, I'm just happy to hear that we're finally going back to the moon!
