A Cherokee woman who was doing research on her family linked her family to ours and contacted us. I actually have been mistaken for Hispanic occasionally but that is b/c my grandma is French and I got her olive complection (that tans easily) and dark features. The Elders of the more rigid tribes appear to be the most offended by this song.Take my heritage for example.The Norwegians, Swedes and Danes haven't always got along so to speak.If you took a song and intermingled certain aspects of these ethnicities which make them different it would be offensive to those who sufffered to make these countries alll Scandinavian, but still autonomous.

GREAT SONG!!! This is a really good sond that most mainstream people will never understand. Mainstream Pop, Rock, and Rap not Country of course. Great music and lyrics. Also great homage to Paul Revere and the Raider's.

@1966carp I'm not. I'm Norwegian and Danish. But,I have worked for 3 different tribes. The Elders of the more rigid tribes appear to be the most offended by this song.Take my heritage for example.The Norwegians, Swedes and Danes haven't always got along so to speak.If you took a song and intermingled certain aspects of these ethnicities which make them different it would be offensive to those who sufffered to make these countries alll Scandinavian, but still autonomous.

I am part Cherokee, and hearing this song again after not hearing it in so long really is nostalgic. It's a definite tribute to the Native American tribes and a wonderful tune to listen to, whether you've got Native blood or not.
