  • I find that it takes longer and more moves to set up this method than it should...

  • i suck , whenever i sort a corner and edge out and put it on it just mucks up the other corner edge pieces??

  • I get bored with LBL method, so i started to look for Fridrich method tutorials. F2L was completely difficult to me, but this video makes it very, very simple. I finally know how to get it.

Thanks man! You know how to explain simple things - that's very good skill for tutorial author.

    Cheers

  • holly crap dude!! your awesome! thanks!

  • I finally understand!! Thank you! :D

  • Is your cube sick? It makes terrible noises D:

  • Dude, this video is very very well explained! Your definitely deserve lots of views and likes! =D

    Great stuff!

  • Weird how when I first watched this it seemed so fast. Now that I've been practicing all day, when I watch this back it seems so simple. It really is INTUITIVE; you have to get a feel for it.

  • I already watched a couple of F2L video's but after this one I finally get the picture!

    Thanks!

    *starts practicing*

  • after this step is there a difference between the fridrich and beginners method

  • Ok I kindof figured it out, i managed to get both layers solved at the same time but it took me like 5mins. Just got to work on it I guess. What do you do for the top layer/face? is it jsut the same as the beginners?(yellow cross, complete yellow, align yellow corners and edges?)

  • 10 mins of the video and the cube isn't solved. :(

  • This is a Great tutorial! Thanks a lot. I personally like that you don't use notation. It helps understanding the concept.

  • oh god you are a BEAR!!!

  • my fastest time solving the cube is 26 seconds but i use begginers method... im having a real hard time remember f2l...

  • @RokSonixGaming 26 seconds using the Beginner's Method? Dude, that's impressive. My best is only 45 seconds using the Beginner's Method.

  • @bikram1122 my avergage for begginer is 41 seconds but now with f2l im stuck getting anywhere from 30- 1 minute lol -_-

  • @RokSonixGaming I CALL BULL SHIT!!!

  • I NEED HELP!!! WHEN I DO THE ALGORITHM THE SHOT THINGY IT ONLY FILLS IN THE FIRST LAYER NOT SECOND

  • OMG I LOVE YOU! THE OTHER VIDEOS THAT TEACH THIS METHOD ARE SO CRAPPY WHEN YOU EXPLAIN IT IT IS SO MUCH EASY I LOVE YOU XD

  • beginners 1:34 and first f2l 0:44

  • Thank you so much! This really helped me! Now all I need to do is learn OLL and PLL.

  • go to speedcubingcentral. com for really good speedcubing algs, blindfold algs, tutorials, and more. ITS THE FUTURE OF CUBING. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. IT'S AWESOME!!!!

    speedcubingcentral. com

  • This guide sucks.. you should had put algorithms on screen, like F´ U, L e.t.c so we can follow those and write them down instead of u just talking..

  • Thank you SO much, you're the first person to explain F2L so that I get it.

  • Begginer's method : time : 0:59.22

    Fridrich method : time : 1:45.95

    :D

  • 5:00 be n orange.. I'm gonna klick....xD

  • yay i did it. I think its better to just learn the goal from the video and then just experiment by yourself to line of the pieces. trying to learn every combination and trick to line up the pieces from a video seems difficult. :) thx.

  • hehe.. your cube is squeeky.. makes me laugh

  • this is the best video on the fridrich method

  • beginners method: 32.24 seconds

    f2l: 16.35 seconds :D:D:D wooooow

    love this guy

  • thanks that really helped me alot! btw what is PLL's? OLL ?

  • this is effing confusing

  • I have watched ALOT of F2L videos. I actually think i've watched over 10 or something like that.

But NO ONE of them does i understand. What should i do?

I'm really trying to understand the videos but i really can't.

Not even this one can i understand.

    Can someone please help me?

  • beginner's method time 54 secs 1st f2l solve 2:49 =)

  • @MrAwsomemen don't worry, you will definately be slower at first when you learn a new method....but once you pratice you will easily be a lot faster than before. Cheers...

  • I've just moved on from beginners method and my record with it is 44.78 seconds, but my record with this method is only 59.55 seconds. =/

  • i understand how to do it but it takes a long time for me to get all the corner pieces and edge pieces in the right place but nice guide thank you so much

  • i don get it

  • i love you man!

  • this i actually the best video explaining F2L, just gotta put it into practise now, thanks :)

  • you know have another subscriber

  • Thank you so much! If I could kiss you...I would... O_o

  • nicwe tutorial usually other F2L tenique tutorial vids are so complex yours is pretty strAIGHT FORWARD NICE!

  • finally an f2l explanation which is easy and works !!!!!!!!! thanks so much.

beginners, fav this vid and go first learn from dan brown @pogobat 's excellent explanation of the beginners method then come back here.

    thumbs up for pixelguy

  • this is good to start out f2l as are many vids, anybody can tell me a vid that could teach me the full f2l?

  • Very good explanation. The picture is very clear.

  • Very nice explanation. I've been solving the cube consistently in under 2 minutes using the James Nourse method but I think once I master this I can shave quite a bit of time off that... then I'll move on to the PLLs and OLLs... thanks!

  • @deviatblood You're doing it wrong. Do not try to imitate the position of his cube, it will never work. There are 40 quintillion possible arrangements of a cube. It's intuitive, don't try to mimic, try to apply your own logic based on his advice.

  • very very clear, thank you!! :) BTW you sound a bit like Vin Diesel :)

  • Very clearly explained !

  • I sped my time up to 13 seconds, thANKS

  • your fucking awesome.

  • thanks a bunch!!!it sped my time up about 30 seconds!!! and btw, your hands are huge for the cube!

  • good explanation for fridrich method now i realy understand how to do "the perfect shot" thanks

  • i use this method but still cant get under 45 seconds, is there any other methods to speed it up?

  • do u also use oll pll??

    if u do...

then i would focus on really searchin for the shortest moves for f2l.

and before starting... u should get ur cross movements ready.

  • This is the best explaination of the Fridrich Method I've found so far. Thanks.

  • it's the cube too tiny or his hands too huge???

  • I'm not sure what your cubes look like, but that's about the average size for a cube.. maybe your just five? lol

  • OMFG YOU SAW IT TOO LOL

    His hands are huge

  • Thankyou! now i can practice on F2L :D

  • with the help of this vid & vids by badmephisto i can now do f2l. hooray!!!! cheers dude.

  • i need to watch this a couple more times.

  • Hi! Your tutorials are great! I've been starting to use F2L, OLL and PLL. My PLL's and OLL's seem a lot different than all the other methods that require a lot of algorithms. My OLL is just getting the fish and doing a simple algorithm to get the whole face, and my PLL has a variation of 3 different algorithms. One is for switching the corners, another for switching edges (counterclock wise and clockwise). Is that what you do for OLL & PLL? It would be great if you made tutorials for them!

  • Your explanation was very clear! This is what I'm looking for. Thank you for this, you help me much!

  • I do want to learn Fidrich F2L. And this video is great for this. I will watc this many times.

  • Couldn't understand any other vids but this one. Thanks.

  • simple to say abot f2l : a lot of practice will drive you to the faster solve if f2l... cuz a lot of practice will give you more experience to face different problem of pairing corner and its edge.. by the way, this vid was ver helpful!!

  • Ahh finnaly!!!!!!!! Thnx so much...

  • this is definitely the best explained vid i have seen yet! THANKS! 5/5

  • thank u so much finaly the vid that i understand >.>

  • you have the best vid so far!!!

  • Thanks for the vid, it's very understandable :). I just have to learn what we have to do for each case because i'm always breaking the cross..:(

Btw dude you have the voice of Kiefer Sutherland I LOVE IT :D

  • I've been cubing for a while now, but I remember this video as the one I learned F2L from, and I don't think I ever properly thanked you, great video! Thanks!

  • if the 2 pieces are the same colour how can i fix it?

  • well, then depending on which side on the corner the white is, u bring the edge piece to the other side.

for example, ur trying to "connect" the red-green edge piece with the red-green-white corner piece and the colors on top of the 2 pieces are green and white is on right side, so red facing u and green on top.

    how u gonna fix it?

well, if ur holding the corner piece on the bottom right of the UP face

  • then do a R' (to hide the corner) and then simple bring the red-green edge piece next to it on the left side, so red is facing u and green is on top. then simply bring up the corner piece which u were hiding.

if the white is on the LEFT rather than the right....then u simply do the opposite.

hold the corner piece on the bottom left of the UP face, hide it by doing an L, bring the edge piece to the RIGHT side of it (so red is facing u) and bring the corner back up...

    get it?

  • You have big hands 0_0

  • cheers 4 da vid

  • This makes things so much clearer

  • thank you you cleared up a LOT of things but one question why cant white be on top?

  • white can be on top and all other various conditions (same color on top..etc). I think its easier to solve it like this before moving onto 'full' F2L...the other conditions you'll be able to figure out intuitively....

  • i acutally solve the cross alot faster when whites on the bottom

at first i didnt but i got use to it

  • this is a good vid... i may be able to figure it out now

  • i cant even under stand THIS . i have been searching for 3 days for a speed cube guide that i can understand but i guess it was an epic phail :(

  • You gotta have a cube right next to you to try it with while watching the vid, it helps alot. ;)

And try to experiment along the way and even after finish watching this vid.

  • thx so muck 5 stars and subin

  • 5 star and a subscription! You rock

  • Nice work thanks !

  • you are amazing with tutorials!!!

  • Thanks!

  • best video on fridrich method ever!

  • WOW i never understanded this but now i do. Perfect 5

  • by far best best fridrich tutorial 5*

  • you are explaining it very very good

now i got records under a half minute

    ty

  • niiice

  • best intuitive F2L on youtube. thanks a lot!

  • also i have to say the is a german turial but this is english and i understand this english video better than the german and i´m german so it´s the best i´ve ever seen very good job dude-->5*

  • I use a beginner's method where you solve the first layer, and then the 2nd layer using the 8 move algorithm, and then a beginner's last layer method and I can get about a minute with it.

I hope this method will improve my scores thanks!

  • Hey David!!

I finally did my first F2L after watching your vid for the second time!!

Well... Did it slowly though :D

  • sick f2l video!!

  • SQUEAKY CUBE! lol. Great tutorial 5/5

  • Best F2L tutorial I've seen so far. Thanks!!

  • intuivtive own non algorithms

  • if u only use f2l + other beginner methods (dnt have time to memorize oll and pll)...whats the fastest u can be?...nd how can u get lesst pause times is f2l..cuz my times about 1:30 when i use f2l, but when i watch my own vids...i noticed too much pause times..

  • This is a great tutorial. Ive heard how to from my friends but this is far better and understandable.

  • hello! this is probably the second best tutorial on f2l that i've seen here. Incidentally, I live in TO as well, and I study computer science at uoft :) What kind of programming do you do? Do you still 'cube'? I see the vids are quite old now.

  • thanks badmephisto, your videos are excellent as well! We've been coding in delphi for the last 10 years but are moving to C#(.net). I don't code too much these days as I've moved up in the company.

  • @pixelguy you guys code?

im a lead programmer at FRC- Robotics Competition

    :)

  • wow thnx man great vid

  • wats ure best time? thx

  • I don't 'cube' too often, but get in the 50-60 second range. Best non-lucky solve was 42 seconds. I still use 4 look-last-layer so there is room to improve. thx.

  • I get from 50-60 too...best non-lucky solve is 44 secs. My best lucky solve ( I got it twice!) was 38 secs.

  • wow.......a very understandable method.....two thumbs up for the Pixel Guy and Dan Brown also..........

  • your awsome dude...the other guys with like 60 thousand views couldnt explain it...but you my man can!

  • i meant thought

  • wow the fridrich was way easier than i thaught im subscribing this guys amazing

  • I don't understand what you did when you said all that move it off axis stuff when you turned over the corner piece and moved the edge piece up in the first thing you did.

  • awesome. at first i didnt get it. but now after a short while i get it thanks to you.

btw, with training, could this be faster than the layer method???

  • Erik broke the world record with this method so of course its faster than the layer method...My new fastest time is 47 secs using this method

  • i've got an important question: is this simple f2l method faster than the keyhole method?

  • yes, this is faster than keyhole if you practice it.

also remember, this is "simple F2L"

    great tutorial, pixelguy!

  • thank you!

  • thanks that was very easy to understand, you helped me with the only thing that i lack in the Jessica Fridrich's Method. (Understood it in the 2nd time i viewed it) :D

  • awesome tutorial, thanks. I like the way to do f2l without algorithms :D!

  • fantastic tutorial thanks

  • omg thank you so much

    i finally get it

  • i did it! :DD ty for ur help now i can master this n beat my friend's 12 second record O_o

  • u cleared it up so much! thx!!, but i have trouble putting in the last f2l pair and spotting them.. any tips?

  • wait i finally got it ! thank you very much

  • for some reason i keep ending up with only one side that doesn't work

  • i finally understand it......after an HOUR!!!!!!

  • how many seconds did u solve de cube?

  • omg this is the BEST F2L video on youtube, i have watched many f2l videos (about 10) and they are all so confusing.

This one i understand (after watching 2 or 3 times) and i can do the first two layers in about 30 seconds (with beginner method it takes about 30 seconds for me but i just learned this like 30 minutes ago so i still have to practice and ill get a lot better)

    Thanks so much!!!

  • can you make one for ZBCOLLs or just normal COLLs?

    Thanks!

  • excellent tutorial!!

  • best F2L video ive seen

  • man!! i think u are a really huge guy.. while ur holding the cube,, the cube looks like keychain rubik's cube w/o a chain.. but anyways very nice video keep it up. 5 star

  • haha, he looks like a giant

  • hi good video you should buy diansheng cube like mine

  • I can solve a rubiks cube on an average of 50 seconds without using the fridrich but i decided to learn it (i mixed some of the fridrich method into mine). My F2L was always to slow so i decided to learn this one. It's a bit confusing to me however. I don't understand most of the parts. Again it has no algorithims but i would like one tha does have one not that i mean it's better i'm just saying. I'll just try to keep on watching this. PM me if you have a good link to where you learned this :P

  • u explained it nicely but u didnt explain all the situations that the orientations can come in and how to fix them

  • this method i have learned in other videos and still i have a problem, i feel im doing faster, and obviously in less moves, but i when i time myself i always get similar times between this method and the layer by layer method... can someone help me?

  • THANKS!!!, U are a great "EXPLAINER" I guess I could call it. thank you again for helping me my times are way better!

  • This video def helped me more then any other one , it wasnt a whole bunch of confusing situations, and it showed how to get out of your color troubles, thanks for finally having a good video on how to do this p.s either you have a small cube or big hands =)=)=)

  • Lol you have big hands!

  • great!!

  • Thanks a lot! This video helped me so much. It doesn't just simply talk about how to do it, it actually makes you think and understand the priciple behind how things work.

  • You didn't explain shit enough for me. I dont understand almost everything. I know layer. I need f2l.

  • thank u sooo much...this is soooo cOOl:)

  • im just saying that people say this has no algorithyms and less moves they are wrong because this guy says all u have to do is move foward and then he does like 10 moves and then does the final thing

  • actually white being on top is the easiest case.

  • If you already know F2L then this video is not for you. When I was first trying to learn F2L I was pulling my hair out watching many different vidoes/websites. Once I 'got it', I was like "if only someone explained it like this...." So I made the video.

Any yes, this is a good starting video. Once you understand this scenario the other scenarios will be easier to grasp.

    Cheers.

  • thanks for the video it helped me finally figure this method out, though i still want to learn some of the other scenarios.

  • thanx a looooooooooooooooooooooooooot

you explain sooo good and easlyXD

    you are the bestXDDD

  • COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOl whats faster guy! F2l or this kind of f2l?

  • This is a sub-set of F2L. I think it's easiest to start like this. Then once you can master this way, you can easily 'get' how to solve the other scenarios (same colour on top, white on top...etc). As far as speed, pratice is the best way. I'm by no means an expert, but get around 50 second solves on avg. Haven't mastered last layer yet.

  • LOL big and hairy hands =) jk^^

  • I don't have big hands! They just make all cubes so small :)

Hairy Hands....yup, I could never be a baker.

  • this is the best vid for F2L fridrich method...its sooooooo clear..and under standable..unlike others..

  • lol, big hands

  • lol, big hands

  • awesome teaching man! thx

  • u sound like tom hanks!

  • i second that! hehehe

  • Cool....maybe they'll pay me to do the voice voice of Woody for Toy Story III.

  • great job dude. way easier than any other vid on here

  • yah dude..im also a pinoy i'll join cebu cube opening pls. cheer for me!!!

  • wow!youre so good

  • Wow very good teacher man. I watched like 7 videos and looked at algorithm sheets and stuff and I still couldn't get it.

  • good teacher, unlike the other snobby guys
