The pool is cool but I think it's kinda lame that they ban cigarettes yet are cool with people smoking pot and walking around topless. Marijuana is illegal and walking around topless is offensive to plenty but smoking a cigarette, which is legal, is too much. A bit of hypocrisy if you ask me. Keep in mind, I'm a libertarian, I don't smoke pot, but could care less if someone else does. Same goes for being topless. I just wish everyone had a live and let live philosophy.

Great video! I'm a 7th generation Austinite. For people who may not know, Barton Springs is in downtown Austin. Many people who work downtown in one of the highrise buildings come down the street for their lunch hour at Barton Springs/ Zilker Gardens. We are very lucky!

Every one is saying that the water is freezing but I was just there today and I know the pool is fed by an underground spring. Water from underground can feel pretty cold. The spring actually feels warmer than air temperature in winter. It is the only outdoor pool I can swim in after October or November.

Hi there! That is right down the river from the pool! Both the river and the pool are very different but both fantastic! Also tubing down the Comal or Guadalupe is great also!

Awesome place to go swimming....I was there last summer and it was just as I remembered it from 1980.

Probably should've dropped the background sounds for this vid and just used the backing music; there's a lot of annoying distortion.

Pellaz, Hey there thank you for your comment! The audio in this video turned out bad in a few areas from the camera but really wanted to add the locus sounds as well. I tried it with just background music and I didn't like it so I went both ways. I think playing a favorite song on media player while watching would work best also!
