  • Great demonstration, and awesome player! Id like to find those myself...What are some compare/contrasts you can make about it?

  • This before the modern digital video disc player. Also known as a dvd player?

  • The Last Unicorn was released in the '80s, not the '70s!

  • @KodyBoy555 Okay fine, it was released November 1982 in theaters but was obviously produced by a bunch of hippies who smoked weed in the 70's together. LOL

  • @databits

I also noticed by the sound of the stacking sounds like to many are leaning against the back one as they are not 100% vertical angle. You might want to reduce some of the weight.

As for the CED wow I’ve never seen one in actually playing mode fantastic over some of the rubbish bluray that I brought what a con format. I still have two laserdisc players and DVD, I’d be a bit nervous if the CED eject messed up otherwise it’s going to be a pigs ear to get out.

  • It makes me so angry to see so many Making of Videos that were never been released on later Mediums and they will probably never be released again.. because big profit greedy companys are sitting on it...

You really have a precious collection my friend O.O

  • Oh MY God! Daryl Hall and John Oates Rock 'n Soul! I love this one! is very awesome, does it sound good?

  • @AugustoAAL it sounds like a good FM radio broadcast. :)

  • Did you ever received our money back because of the bad packaging? And do you know anything about the pas was it only available in the US because i can't find anything about it around "the netherlands"

  • @lemn80 - I did get a refund - and I've not heard of PAS...do you mean PAL?

  • @databits Lol .. no i meant "past" I have to stop typing the way i speak :P

  • If you have a questions about movies on vinyl records, search on YouTube "RCA Selectavision Videodisc Production Tour" Part 1 to Part 2!

  • When putting in the new belt, did you clean off the decomposed belt off the pulley and gears?

That can be the source of the noise.

As for why the belt "melted," it didn't melt, per se, but decomposed, most likely due to a problem in the vulcanization of the rubber.

And clarification of the disc layout: the disc is recorded in CAV with eight fields divided by vertical blanking/DAXI code "spokes."

One complete rotation is four frames.

  • I have EVERY consumer title (and a few promo-only ones) put out on this format- they are a HUMONGOUS pain to move, but they're easy to store if you have a closet the right size. I'll have to put that 1984 Video Systems disc on DVD and put the best bits online soon. I have to see that one again my new LCD TV anyway- I also have a new receiver that upconverts CEDs to 1080P!

  • @eyeh8nbc - did you post the 1984 Video Systems yet?

  • I bought an SJT-200 new back in the early 1980s. I was dissapointed with the performance and switched to laserdisc. When I did that I sold my RCA disc player and CED movie collection. I wish I would have kept my CED player and discs as a collector's item.

  • Awesome! Love these demos of the Selectavision and LD players! Nice collection too!

  • Great video.

  • Man, you've got so many of my favorite animated titles on this obsolete format. I'm jealous.
