so allen, you think it is good for society to exchange a $150 billion industry for a $15 billion industry? That kind of thinking limits the potential jobs, taxes, and other benefits that could be derived from what should be a seminal moment. Row crops? For heavens sake pierre, do yo know anything? Do you ever think beyond your own self interest?
@jdesmo4 decrease inflation, less health problems, more jobs, benefits communities, enviroments, gets rid of everything dangerous in america, so benefits evrything, Do you think at all?
@DannTheMan99 Do I think at all? Can you read and comprehend a paragraph? Obviously not, because you missed the point. st pierre is selling us down the river. He works for george soros, the man wants to own the industry. Consumers will suffer. This bozo has the model of legalization wrong, if you were literate, you would have gleaned that from my post. Remove head from ass before you pass my way. As for your thinking, "legalizing weed gets rid of everything dangerous," that is imbecilic.
For years... legalization groups have promote the tomato model as one that will best suit the future economic model of marijuana. if you wanna buy your tasteless Mexican tomatoes (or your brick weed) go right ahead. On the other hand I buy my produce from small local growers. I pay a little more (10%-15%), but it's worth the difference when considering the quality. Not to mention the support for a local farmer that you can you trust.
@kedisonjr I like your thinking, give my site a look bigbrowndogpress. I discuss my model for legalization, which is all locally grown and locally sold. I call it an artisan model. No matter what "two buck" sez, weed will never sell for $30 an oz. He is full of it and anyone that believes him is delusional.
The fact is that we NEED to legalize! We are going completely broke maintaining the facade as is! This just sounded like fear-mongering to me. All we have to do is make ABSOLUTELY sure that mom and pop growers will (after having paid a "reasonable" licensing fee) be able to grow and bring their own product to market. In Oregon's policy for micro-brews would serve as a suitable legal framework for this purpose. We still have Coors, but for a little more you can get a good Oregonian IPA!
@KOmaSHOOTER If we do it the right way you won't have to. I do think that the intention behind taking down Marc Emery was in fact to kill competing seed producers before legalizing. However, there is more than enough people growing their own to ensure a significant diversity of products should we ever get smart enough to fully legalize.
@KOmaSHOOTER You're mad if you don't think it'll be cheaper! He just spelled it out to you in the video, the market price for indoor only comes out to be about $1 a gram. Thats INCLUDING all of the labor put into it; trimming, ect..
If you think it will still be $400 an ounce after legalization, please think again haha.
@KOmaSHOOTER You don't understand. People will not buy it at current price if it's legal. The price of weed is so incredibly inflated by the black market, its disgusting.
Did you even watch the video? The guy covers it in the video.
@KOmaSHOOTER If the open market is too expensive it will force too many people to grow their own....You heard the man "pennies on the pound". When it is that cheap to grow your own outdoor-indo, why would you go to the store and pay some asshole $400 an ounce for it? Even if you were growing it indoors it would cost you $30 PER PLANT (each producing 5 to 12 ounces of bud). If it is too expensive on the shelf, you also have to worry about unlicensed growers undercutting you on the street.
Well, the US is a Service based Country. The best way to make money from anything would be adding a service to it. Although, adding services to Cannabis will be very intresting to see. I wonder what type of things people will think of.
Can you tell me how Hemp laws are not treason against the Republic? Making Free Enterprise illegal The corner stone of control of the economy. Taking the economy out of the hands of farmers to vested interasts.
The DEA is legalizing marijuana for big pharma companies to produce prescription drugs from, but keep it illegal for everyone else. Good? Bad? I dunno.
although this is the best response I have seen frim normal on th post prohibition market...I just dont see our countries best interests served by the corporate farm model. A system of indoor growers, producing a quota of weed is much more beneficial. More jobs and therefore more benefits for more people.
Now we have created a system where the growers and state governments will oppose any model that will bring the price down, and with that, the sales tax down also. This was partly the reason why Prop 19 failed. The growers are happy and do not want to adapt if they don't have to.
Of course not giving it to the sick is wrong so that is not an issue. So where to go from here? Perhaps mobilize voters who have no desire to grow it but would love to use cannabis legally to vote on future props maybe?
all very good pointers. When will the government start listening and end marijuana prohibition. Tomorrow-NO, next day NO. So black market keeps making money, DEA keeps getting billions to stop black market. Now who is the dumby for keeping marijuana illigal. Not NORML.
Here's hoping that we all get to grow our own cannabis one day without fear of prosecution. Also, at the very least, if people don't want to grow it themselves, I want to see an open market where anyone (with a license) can sell it as well.
Marijuana is safer and better for everyone! Long live cannabis!!

People will buy it even when the price will be like now
and why should you sell it cheaper if you can get more money for it easily?
