I think most people are messing up when taking the book back off the shelf the first time. After you place the book on the shelf, pick it up again, select "do not read", then take the book. It should be in your inventory, and you should be able to repeat the process. I just did it an hour ago on 360.

It's really only good if you wanted to just mess around and experiment with everything on one character. I've found focusing on any one skill set (sneak/magic/might) will make the game easy as hell by level 40 on Master difficulty, be it free destruction spells, sneak stabbing anyone for insane amounts of damage in a fight, or having so much health, armor, and attack, that meleeing giant groups doesn't even phase you in the slightest.

Attention everyone! The new patch that came out a few days ago didn't fix this! This still works. I tested it on my bookshelf in Breezhome. Follow the steps to the letter and you'll have a level 81 just like I do now.

You DON'T have to uninstall the patches! I downloaded the most recent one THEN did the XP glitch and it works.(On Xbox 360 at least)
