  • To all the retards saying "why dont you just buy a video camera, durrrr." I'll just say theres a reason he's a professional and your an amateur.

  • good job. Check out the New Camera Mount Clamp.

  • killer rig but my jaw just drops every time he says "i don't know what is called" or "I'm a stills guy so.."

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP "STILL GUY"

  • One area he missed, batteries. I use a battery pack grip when doing video, because even with a large video card you will run out of battery way too quickly with out the battery grip or an external power source. I have numberous batteries and chargers for charging from 12 VDC. I may very soon be using a larger external battery and external power jack.

  • the video will work without those annoying flashing texts.

  • cf cards you mean?

  • @scratchnsurf , I caught that as well, yes, CF card is what it uses.

  • Really love this vid. Very informative and I love the shoutouts to Cdn manufacturers. One concern: Only one attachment on the follow focus? Folks suggest to me that I go for a system that attaches to both rods for a more sturdy connection. What do you think?

  • where can i see some footage shot with this rig?

  • dude a simple word of advice get a freakin video camera man lol

  • @scandlous08, yeah, right. ROFL Just depends on what you are shooting. If you are panning quick, then yes, video cam. Otherwise the DSLR is a great video cam.

  • two 5d mark II's?

  • zzzzzzz....

  • i wish he treated his kit nicer..

  • would like to see you ge those tools onto an airplane lol

  • Now, that is a $20,000 bags. Thanks for the interview.

  • Zeiss does do Zooms for Minolta A-Mount.

  • Seems like a lot of work just to take a picture. You know they make cameras that fit in your shirt pocket right?

    : )

  • @Deanzsyclone

we are now all dumber thanks to your comment. Fuck you very much.

  • he said SD cards and those are CF cards, did i get it right?

  • @TERRANCIO no, those were SD extremes.

  • Do you recommend the SmallHD Monitor?

  • The M9 and it lenses itself cost more than 10k+.

The Canon kits and lenses itself must have mount up thousand of quids.

Including the accessories and flashgun not to mention, the bags.

    My guess, 20k+

  • don't tell me that whole set cost around

    $8,000 or more

  • @jet5832 more,.. the leica m9 cost $7k alone

  • all that nice glass with no caps while in the bag?

  • If he has a massive bag full of stuff just for video and a dedicated video set-up, why not carry a video camera?

  • @alman53

Because the quality of it is far greater than most dedicated video cameras beyond it's price range. It has a lot of weaknesses but the pros are what most people want.

  • because the Depth of field when shooting video on an SLR is much Shallower than that on most Consumer Video Cameras and Broadcast Cameras

  • @alman53 Because a video camera is cumbersome in small spaces.

  • @Animatronica What and that isn't?

  • @alman53 Stripped down to the essentials it's definitely smaller than any HD video cam.

  • no no no Chris get a real mic a shotgun mic lol lol silly still guylol

  • Nope.

  • No, just no.

  • Great Video! Im Gonna Look Into The SmallHD DP1! Looks Like An Actual Legit Monitor! :]

  • I love a lot of Chris's work though - Would love to work with him!

  • It was never intended to used as dedicated video camera, Canon had no idea that this camera would appeal so strongly to professional filmmakers. You will never get this image quality from a dedicated video camera, with those lens choices and matte box rail mounts, at that price.

A lot of people are using it for those reasons.

  • He says its because of the 5D MKII that he shoots video, but he has all that setup, so why not just use a dedicated video cam in the first place?

  • The Canon 5D Mark II started life as a cost-cutting measure for Associated Press and Reuters. They asked for a still camera that also shot HD to avoid having to pay both a still photographer and a videographer to cover the same events. They wanted 30p, for web streaming, and full auto mode, so as not to scare still photographers who had never shot moving images before.

  • This guy's my hero...

  • That must be some beast when he puts it all together.

Love this series by the way, always educational seeing what other people use and feel the need to carry. :)

  • What was the roll out flash card holder? I liked that. Anybody know the brand? Thanks!

  • ThinkTank Photo. They make a whole bunch of well designed photo goods.

  • legit!

  • Awesome gear!!

I would have a field day with that bag!

  • Thanks, for the video.
