  • quite simply my favourite song of all time by my favourite artist alongside mccartney. reminds me of my childhood. even though leicesters a long way from glens country.

  • Absolutely fantastic!!!

  • beautiful

  • This song was made for him.. It's funny that it's not always the case where the writer of the song does the best version of it.. You've got a friend by Carol King is another example .. James Taylor done the most successful version of that song. Mind you Campbell should have stayed in bed the day he recorded time in a bottle, he did an appalling job of that great Croce song.

  • I just Luurve this song & congratulations on a fine video.

Hmmm, with ny teacher's hat on, it's FERRIS WHEELS I reckon!

I now want to create a Video with this song, wayyyy out in the Wilds in the Heart of Olde Englande under some fine Clouds.

    WATCH THIS SPACE!

  • Glen Campbell is probably the best vocalist of our time. This video certainly stikes all the right chords, musical as well as visual.

  • Glen Campbell is probably the best vocalist of our time. This video certainly stikes all the right chords musical as well as visual.

  • Was literally searching for this song for 3 or 4 months, the only two words I could remember were the "at all", didn't even remember the "I don't really know clouds."

I thought for sure it was a Marty Robbins song...Searched endlessly, then the other day at work I heard it on TV while cutting underpad for a customer and darted to the TV to get the name and artist...It was like finding that heirloom you lost last year.

  • @Anaheimfan Joni Mitchell wrote it but Judy Collins made it famous in the top 10. Glenn Campbell's is great but it is a cover.

  • Beautiful music, heart touching lyrics. Thanks for posting the video.

  • what a voice! What a sond! what music! what arrangement! ! ! Just listen!

  • Just Beautiful!!!! Wishing a miracle for you Glen. :-(

  • Wonderful song by many artists including this awesome version. I've done my own cover of this & I endeavour to up load this & other stuff on to you tube so keep your eyes & ears open. Cheers!

  • Wow, terrific arrangement, with typical Campbell country/western flavor.

  • loved neil diamond's version of this song but i think glen cambell's version is better. thanks for the pictures and the posting of this beautiful song

  • i grew up listining to this thanks to my dad. i dj clubs partys but still love this, dads stills going 80 this year.

  • The strings from 1:48...so beautiful

  • From Glen's album "Try A Little Kindness". I first heard this when I was 8 or 9 years old. Loved it then. Love it now. Thank you for posting!

  • this is the best ,love this song and the singer is so perfect for this song .great video

  • There must be someone out there having a real bad time of it who has sworn to all things holy that nary a video will exist on You Tube without at least one Mag ich nicht (German for I don't like) on it. Schade (Pity).

  • Magistral!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Completamente increíble...great song, great cover. Good video too. Gracias.

  • EXCELENT

  • 'So many things I could have done...' No more to be said really.

  • another fantastic singer. extremely clear even when he flexes his vocal tones. this is very unlike rhinestone cowboy but that just shows his range and what he can express with his tonal control ... excellent.

  • Superb! I thought of those innocent people who lost their lives in the recently bloodbath incident at The Quirino Grandstand and also to Ex.Sen./Insp. Mendoza..This tragic event could be avoided if only some people heed to his requests. May their Souls Rest in PEACE. And let those people in Military Uniforms be punish of their Stupidity and Negligence...

  • great version ...he nails it

  • Thank you... Very nice...

  • Not a big Glen fan, but he did a fair job with this one.

  • what will make glen sing it again?

  • Beautiful, truly touching.

  • nice work. Beautiful song

  • really? a mushroom cloud. what the shit.

  • It seems that Glen Campbell could have sung almost any pop tune in his heyday, imbue it with pathos, and caress the song with the honey-toned timbre of his youthful, yet virile, voice. His phrasing and musical sensitivity allowed him to sing country and pop equally well. There are/were few singers able to do what he did to lyrics.

  • @Brahmsfourth Damn straight!

  • This is a nice example of one person writing a song and another person bringing it to life. Campbell shines on this one and the acustic arrangement adds a lot to the overall delivery.

  • This is beyond beautiful. Probably one of Campbell's most haunting, eloquent recordings. Astonishing in his phrasing. I've always loved Collins' version and see why it was such a hit, as it's more "pop" in its presentation, but this version just reaches into one's soul. I love Joni Mitchell and Campbell as a rule, so I'm surprised I'd never heard this before. Simply gorgeous.

  • I'll be nice, and say that Neil Diamond's version sucks.

This version is, in my opinion, at least as good as St. Judy's version. Her voice has an airy, ethereal beauty to it that few vocalists have.

Yet Glen Campbell pulls this off effortlesly, and beautifully, and interprets in a way all his own. A special version of a very special, personal song...

  • Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

  • Debate over whose version of this song is "best" proves three things:

    (1) An astounding number of legendary singers haved deemed it worthy of their efforts, (2) The song moves almost seamlessly through arangements from rock, pop, folk, country, jazz, even cabaret. Precioius few songs are so definitive yet so adaptable. (3) It 's a truly timeless song. We're debating this 42 years after the song was first recorded! That can be said about precious few songs. BTW - my favorite version is Judy's.

  • without doubt, this is the best version, effortless and riding in the cloud.,\\, It is rich and powerful! Campbell is a breed of his own, we human kind is fortunate to have him in this world. I for one, consider myself lucky to be born and live in his generation !

  • best version ever

  • No way! the best version of this brilliant song is by Neil Diamond.. without question.

  • meant to add, because he sings it with so much angst.. which is what the song is meant to convey..

  • This version is by Faar the BEST the voice the effortless manner in which it is sung ie a bit of country and pop MOST ENJOYABLE very good from a Good Artist

  • this is the best version i'ved heard

  • fab upload ~thanks~

  • this is nice. how about posting some of his other hit songs like "love me as though there were no tomorrow? thanks.

  • One of the most beautiful voices in pop music for the last, at least, 50 years. Wonderful.

  • Mitchell's own version of her great song is the best. Apart from JM's, however,, Campbell's is my favorite. He conveys the song's mood very well, and his voice has ample color (UNLIKE Judy Collins' thin, tinny instrument, for example) to convey the emotions therein --

  • Ah what can you say. Glen Campbell is awesome and he can still sing just about anything and still sound great at it. Glen has been a favorite of mine for years.

  • Wow. never heard this version before....very good....

  • This was my Dad's favourite song. he passed away yesterday .

  • Condolence

  • thank you..you are very kind

  • @egaygigi - sorry to hear about that.

A favourite song tells a lot of a person. He has picked a very deep & moving song. In my opinion, a great favourite song.

I hope you are coping OK after your loss.

  • im sorry to hear that, it must be hard what your goign though

  • @mick515 It was a hard time but he lives an extraordinary life and was honored by 800 friends and family at his celebration of life. We Played Glen Campbelle's " Both sides now" song. He asked that we do that because it was his favourite song.

  • @gmanw3 xxxxxx

  • @gmanw3 Well he had excellent taste, rest his soul..

  • @sbbinahee he was a private pilot among other things. When I was a boy he and I would fly all over the place. He really enjoyed flying above the low lying clouds to show me that clouds had two sides. When we look up at clouds often see only an aproaching storm..when we look down at them we see their beauty.

  • @gmanw3 my dad passed away a few years ago now this was his fav too we played the frank sinatra version at his funeral both your dad and mine had good musical taste god bless them both.

  • @gmanw3

Sorry to hear that... Peace be with you...

  • @gmanw3 my fav song ever to..xx

  • @gmanw3 I'm sorry to hear that, I hope this song brings you comfort when you hear it! This song always reminds me of Germany as I used to live there as a kid!

  • @gmanw3 Your father obviously had good taste. My condolences for your loss.

  • @gmanw3 Your dad had great taste, so sorry for your loss, remember the smiles!

  • @gmanw3 Your dad had a great taste of music

  • @gmanw3 Sorry for your loss, nice memory though, reminds me of my childhood and my parents too

  • Gman, I'm sorry about your loss. You might be comforted by Joni Mitchells' rendition in 2000. Its much more pensive, and still brings tears to my eyes. You can just search for "Joni Mitchell both sides now 2000" and you'll see it. Its the one with her in the evening gown. Again, I'm sorry for your loss.

  • @sngle1now2001 thank you...I will check it out

  • My Aunt Rena (Clydebank - Scotland) passed away last Thursday after a long battle with breast cancer. We drifted apart as I got older but when I was a kid Rena was my cuddly Hippie aunt who played guitar & sang around the campfire up at Arochar on the shores of Loch Long. This was the song I always looked forward to her performing. Rena taught me my first few chords on the guitar and I love her for that...

  • Rena sounds like she was some special lady ..at least your guitar playing will always be a poignant reminder of such a super lady

  • No comment on the song just on the man, I have been a fan of Mr. Campbell since I was 21, old enought to go in bars, now I am 63 and I am still a fan

  • kudos goes to joni mitchell for writing this. freaking great song.

  • ive loved this song since i was a kid,it s still awesome now

  • glen does the best version

  • What a great cover! Awesome...touching!

  • Very beautiful song and the most appropriate pictures. Awesome!

  • Am I in an elevator?

  • I much prefer Joni Mitchell's and Judy Collins' interpretation of this song. Somehow more convincing!

  • sounds ok? but i dont think this comes close to mitchells or collins versions? acustic versions make song sound alot better, dont like band playing

  • without doubt glen campbell's best tune. as circle of 42 says its better than joni's original. images of the video are not the best however.

  • This is the best cover of this song out there. Glen Campbell is the man.

  • if happiness in life can be translated into words and tunes, then this is the song.

  • Nice one glen.

  • always loved his version..

  • I think it's actually better than Joni's original.

  • I remember as a kid the car journeys from London to Scotland to see family. Glen was always on Dad's playlist. Even as a child I loved his version and the perfect production with strings. Beautiful.

  • I've just moved this to my favorites. I think I will watch this over and over again. Says so much to me and my life. Thanks for posting.

  • This is one of such old songs that have really found their special place in the sun. They would always remind people of their good old days. Thank you so much for uploading this one.

  • Absolutely beautiful - Glen's voice and Al De Lory's strings and arrangement! This is one of early Glen's best. Good job, egaygigi, in selecting and using the photographs.
