Idj2 was built for the ipod don't get it twisted. Stand clear of USB it cost me a fortune to get it fixed. I think it was built too flimsy.

the idj3 does not have pitch control for the ipod...it's a software controller with a ipod dock...2 different mixers

i Have one of these. i use my ipod & a external hard drive for my music source. But make sure you get a external hard drive with a power plug. No speakers are built in and the case dont come with it. The case is $50 on the numark website

@camarones75 they will work from itunes. i used itunes but some of the music i downloaded a few years ago was of an unaccepted file type. you can always google an album in rar form. for example google "theblackalbum.rar" a few site will come up and you can download yourself a backup copy of an album you previously bought.

@maaa005 it comes with a usb but any usb should work to upload the music from. if your going to buy a 600 device called the idj... you should get an ipod. there are many other mixers avilable that work with cds. check out a cdj.

@MrBaseballplayer23 usually when you haven't had a track in one of the crates yet it takes a bit longer to load them, after you have mixed them a few times the loading will be instant.

@MrBaseballplayer23 the problem is: you have to detect your library with a program called LIBRARIAN. it prepares the music library to be used on the idjs. if you do that, the tracks will be loaded right away, if not, every track has te be read and analysed before you can play it. a further advantage: without using LIBRARIAN u have no BPM and no waveform. With librarian you have that.

I`ve just got my iDj2, but I cant seem to get it connected to my speakers. I`ve tried just plugin my two speakers witthout the sub into Master Output on iDj2, but nothing is happening.

@TrysilJib Master Output is for CHinch to connect the IDJ2 to your system, its not for speakers. The speakers have to be connected to your hifi-system.

@stolenbiker902 the songs can be from ipod but the have to be ***unprotected** aac files. older songs from itunes were generally protected, now they are all unprotected. to find out which sons from your itunes will play, once you open itunes, then click on library, go to the tool bar on top and click view. the view menu will show, click view options. from view options click *KIND*. now next to the song title if you scroll over you will see which type of file it is.

@stolenbiker902 if you use itunes, only unprotected aac files will work on the idj2. to know if the files are unprotected aac or not, in itunes CNTL+J will bring up the view options box, click on the check box next to the word KIND. now when you go to your library, scroll all the way to the right, and it will tell you the file type. i think for a fee you can upgrade all your old itunes songs to high quality unprotected aac's.

@KanYeLife the tap button is a beat per minute overide. if you think the bpm for a particular track is wrong, you can tap away. or you can pres and hold and it will recompute the bpm.

I've just bought an IDJ2 and I loaded the new firmware onto it, now if i dont touch it for about a minute it goes into demo mode, stopping the track thats playing.

This is very annoying, does anyone know how to turn the demo mode off?

hi , any tunes you buy from itunes have drm protection , these can be played on the idj2 , but ony in direct mode, when in direct mode the idj2 is like a big ipod dock and you can not use the dj functions. this is the only problem with itunes, but i believe apple are going to start selling music on itune's with out the drm protection, great news !!!
