Damn right, I've upgraded it for Rapid Fire instead of Accuracy and I didn't regret it. This is by far the best weapon in the game, the Groza (used by Duty) doesn't even come close. I upgraded the G37 for accuracy for sniping only.
When you get the F2000, the 5.56 ammo is more available from then on if I remember correctly. All I know is that my enemies died incredibly quickly (I always aim for the head) with the F2000 using the 5.56. So much that I felt that it wasn't even a fair fight, to tell you the truth.
The F2000 is only available in 5.56. Can you convert it to 5.45 in Clear Sky? In ShoC (modded or unmodded), 5.56 is widely available in all post-Bar areas (including 100 Rads where you can buy it from Barkeep). I think the AK-74/GP-25 is my favorite rifle/launcher combo. I like the F2000, but I like to be able to use iron sights. With the AK-74, you can take a scope on or off as needed. Plus, the Russianness of it fits the scene. Plus, it's durable.
Yes you can convert it to use 5.45 in C.S., but like I stated earlier, I choose not to because the 5.56 ammo is more available at that point in the game.
BTW, you probably already know this but the monolith guys inside the sarcophagus carry normal (non-ufo) f2000's. You can also buy one from the Pripyat trader, but it's too expensive imo.
Yeah, they added the UFO prototype but still kept the old one as well. Also, they added a trader to Pripyat named Kanyhalos (after the lead modder) to one of the apartment buildings, look for an orange dot. Apparently there's also a military trader in the NPP but I haven't found him. You should try the Oblost/arsenal multimod when you have spare time. They added a TON of new weapons. My new stalking combo is a Glock 18c, OC-33 Pernach (new weapon model), and a Steyr Aug.
I don't like how they changed the PSO scope to this weird crosshair thing. Also for some reason the Val is about 2/3 as strong as the Vintorez for some reason. But I fixed that heheheh XD
Why would they do that? It blows my mind that anyone could be that incompetent. }:-( Two rifles of the same caliber with the same barrel length and identical receiver mechanics. How could they NOT have comparible ballistics?! Did OLP just assume no one would notice? Plus, the Vintorez holds 30 rounds in a 10-round magazine compared the Val's proper 20, making them even more unbalanced as well as unrealistic.
Yea, that was dumb too. I changed the weapon files in the gamedata folder though, so now they are both comparably powerful and have the proper ammo capacity. I was hoping the Val could be for both close and long range, but I really don't like the new scope, so now I carry the vintorez for long range and something else for close range.
It seems durable, but I haven't really used it for extended periods of time. My fave exploration combo is the OTs-33, PPSh-41 and a Vintorez. Funny you should ask about the Kriss, I've been encountering lots of Spetsnaz lately, one time I spotted an expedition in Cordon, about 10-15 guys all with Vintorezzes and AN-94's. And another time I was jumped by 5 spetz guys near the Bar, armed with Krisses and TMP's. I haven't found a brand new Kriss yet though :(
In OL, Monolith soldiers randomly carry a norm F2000.
The prototype takes its place where you got it here in OL.
Side note - ArsenOL adds a few miniguns and machine guns you can use if you wear an exoskeleton. It's pretty fun for a while, but it's overkill in certain situations.
Another note - I think the F2000's grenade launcher sights are set as such that the grenades are a little higher than where they meet up than normal, and they fall faster than other grenades launched from other rifles.
I've had to compensate for this myself, at least.
iam not sure, but i think it is due to different grenades, there are two types of grenades to each kind of launcher - normal, with a quite straight flight path and second ones with acute angle of rise and fall to attack targets from the cover, maybe you had contact with these

In reality, 9x39 packs way more punch than 5.56.

If it didn't wear down so quickly, I'd recommend the Bizon as a close-range weapon of choice. How's the durabilty on the TMP? Have you found a Kriss?

Do the different launchers have different bore diameters? Is there a modular breaching shotgun for the F2000?
