For great help advice i went to walmart and got mavis beacon teaches typing lessons software cd...and it worked in a month....that was like a year ago. I stopped using it time i learned but i still know all of my keys....20 to 30 mins a day will teach u fast

I'm glad I no longer have to suffer this. I learned typing years ago. Now, I'm at about 60 WPM at 90-95% accuracy. Just about right for me. I remember the times when I have to "hunt and peck" for every single letter on the keyboard. Now it's just like your fingers can see the keys themselves.

I didn't get that!I know I'm slow but I think something is little off here:I type 26wpm with 95-96% accuracy.I'm not English native speaker,I get this was the reason so I tried to type some words as fast as I could and I reached 97wpm with accuracy of 0%.You guys telling you can do something like 80wpm(realistic)up to133or180. That's more than 10 lines,almost half a page. Back at school,the fastest girl in class(Not me!)could take that amount in about 5min(that means about 5 times slower!)

Who on earth uses their left thumb for the space bar?!! I've been typing for 40 years or more (yeh, I real oldie!) and you only use the right-hand thumb for the space bar.

I don't know what my typing speeds are on a keyboard but when I used the old Olivetti typewriters in the 60s I typed at 180 wpm. I guess my speeds must be twice that on the keyboard.

Well if you can't type on a QWERTY in the first place. Then it would be better to study the DVORAK layout which will yield you in excess of 185Wpm if your trained well on it.

It's a strange layout when compared to qwerty but the most often used characters are on the home row and placed around the left hand (does 77% of your typing if you havent noticed) and no more having to pause to hit the period or comma as they are where the Q,W,E keys are.
