This is the finest spontaneous collaboration of two musical artists on the ukulele ever. It's great that Jim was with John to create and share such a moment ,and that it was captured for us to enjoy. I come back to this video every now and then, and it still brings a smile, when I hear it, and a tear when I think of what magical moments like this one are not to be, with John's passing. Earl Ledden
I realize I'm still not asleep, on any usual night I would be waking you up to entertain me...The 1:28 mark is my favorite, I know you were so happy there...you didn't make that face for just anything. i love you. to the greatest dad in the world: happy father's day.
It is with deep sadness to inform you that John (a teaching colleague of mine at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on April 3, 2009.
May you forever rest in peace, John, and may your exemplary playing continue to thrill and entertain YouTubers around the globe!
In fact I didn't know John was in FL. I fell in love with his "Carol of the Bells" and was delighted by his Bach, et al. (From our Eastman connection to the unknown Eckerd link, a small world indeed!)
I keep coming back to this every few weeks. Thanks John. Thanks James.

@netwitted: Add to the smile and tear a hopeful expression, in anticipation of the magical moments this one will inspire.

That's just a damn shame. This man was arguably (IMHO) the finest ukulele player in the world and an incredible talent. He will be greatly missed.
