Scotland County High School Marching Band Performance at final home game 2008

@biologygeek100...I marched under Mr. Allen 91-95..He left after the 94-95 school year...The band is alot smaller now maybe 40-50 at most...

This band is great. I was wondering if anyone had film footage of SHS Band from when Charlie Allen was the band director. That was an awesome, kicking band!! I tell everyone about that band and they don't believe me! He was there awhile but I remember them from 1987-to the early 1990's. Please post it if you have any.

um, idk who u are, but the only reason why y'all play the more modern day music is bcuz ur band is show style, and scotland is corps style. i dont understand why ppl think bands suck whenever they are corps style. the music is SOOO much different. i like show style & all, but sumtimes i hate it when ppl have 2 damn OVERBLOW ALL THE TIME! gosh, git it 2gether!

their marching band show this year ('09-'10) actually was surprisingly similar to Enloe High School's show........our music was written for us and copyrighted.......i think there's some copyright issues going on here........

i am a former member of this marching band, macys alum! this it the most depressing thing i have seen, where is the "pride of scotland county???" no bagpipes, no highland fling, this is sad. i hate to say it but it needs to be said. i dont blame the students, i blame the school administrators who are in charge of SHS for letting it get to this! if they need a reminder im sure some older members have our macys tapes and other tapes of half time shows to show them how great this band use to b

It's pretty depressing to see where the band is now, compared to where it was 10 -15 years ago. The size/sound has decreased so much. Wish they'd make it more fun for the kids again. Play some music people know.

Okay, its been 2 years since I've seen this band perform n person. Im not gonna say this program sucks, because it doesn't. But I can tell their is a BIG different in their musicality. The percussion still rocks as usual(lol). But as far as the winds, have they decreased in size? Just wondering...

I think that it has a lot to do with the change in directors we had here a few years back. Not blaming the current director for anything, but James Cook was really building the program back up and when he left it's dwindled a lot. The wind section has decreased by over half in size. As you said the percussion section is still under some good people, but I don't know what to say about everything else.

ok i kno that it could have been way better and that the band has fell off cause cook lis gone but i the 2nd bass that year and i got to say bass that was a nice run thru but for the band as a hole yea we now suck ass damn that was my last night ;( C/O 09 baby

i agree that the standards havent been as good as they used to i am a senior this year at scotland and i know what a good show sounds like "avant guard" was the last, in my opinion, great show. back then we got off the feald pouring sweat no matter what thats how intense that show was. this year um.....not so much. for one we dont go anywere anymore its like they refuse to spend money on us we used to go all over NC and even outside, to maryland, grandfather mountain, even florida. :( C/O 09
