Nowhere in the amendment does it state the press will be impartial, in fact the amendment allows for the press to be partial. Now, your example of the press standing isn't solid proof. Obviously you haven't seen all the pictures that were released because I've seen quite a few of them and most of them show what appears to be prisoners in good health and in a normal prison like setting. Abu Ghraib was an isolated incident. And yes sometimes beatings may occur in prison but that is largley due to the fact that prisoners act up and can get show signs of aggression (maybe accidently due to cultural misunderstandings) with guards. While I do agree the free press is dead, I disagree with your reasoning. To start, the First Amendment does not guarantee a free press as you have defined it. Nowhere in the amendment does it state the press will be impartial, in fact the amendment allows for the press to be partial. Now, your example of the press standing isn't solid proof. Perhaps Bush preferred the press remain seated. In any case this does not indicate a breach of the First Amendment. That being said, I agree the free press

Obviously you haven't seen all the pictures that were released because I've seen quite a few of them and most of them show what appears to be prisoners in good health and in a normal prison like setting. Abu Ghraib was an isolated incident. And yes sometimes beatings may occur in prison but that is largley due to the fact that prisoners act up and can get show signs of aggression (maybe accidently due to cultural misunderstandings) with guards. And yes I know about the IRC reports.

I doubt that most intelligence agency's publish their interrogation techiniques and most outside sources are questionable at best. The history of the American Indian reservation system is filled accounts of people being starved and provided with contaminated goods by American Indian Agents, who were all white, in control of the reservations. Many of these Indian Agents were also known to be brutal enforcer types. In both the cases of the American Indian And Japanese Americans most of these people did nothing at all to deserve having their property taken and being incarcerated.

Free press is not dead, it is just that if you go against the majority of the press (which are vehement Darwinian Marxists) then you will never get any air or newspaper time in any of their outlets. I am just not so sure how Americans were able to stay in business for this long. Because Japanese Cars has always been better than US made. Some people in Korea worried that quality of SKorean VCRs were behind Japanese but by that time SKoreans were already putting money on research and developmenting DVDs. I do not know what next generations of cars will be like in the future but current type of cars now looks outdated with higher oil prices.

They used video of a home's demolition in the "West Bank" due to condemnation for safety and used it as if it was Israelis simply destroying "Palestinian" homes out of spite which never happened.
They've taken staged events outside Israeli military posts and reported them as real, such as innocent civilians being fired upon by Israeli soldiers.
And while Saddam Hussein was in power BBC reporter Paul Wood published an Iraqi minister's propaganda instead of doing job of investigating the facts.

Xile...Chrysler and GM had already lost my business. Ford once had my business but they too let me down. I wouldn't rule out another chance but they would have to compete with Nissan the company I've given all my business to for the past 20 years. I will never purchase an American car just because it's American. The American auto industry has blown smoke for too long, they can't just meet the quality of oriental manufacturers, they'll have to clearly take the lead on innovation and quality.

Xile...Ford let me down because the products I bought from them didn't have the quality and support their Japanese competitors had. My problem wasn't just a comment...it was their product....and that resulted in cars that weren't as good of a use of my money...bottom line. I do have ties to Ford and I do believe they are the finest domestic manufacturer. They just aren't as smart a buy. I do not believe in supporting companies that offer me less value....it sends them the wrong message.

In Europe we laughed as Gibbs tried to explain how Obama didn't bow. It was like, "um...no he didn't." If you'd tried you'd find the press corps stood all the time for Bush....but not in the briefing room where space was tight and standing killed camera lines of their fellow workers. They did at times stand in the room including Bush's last visit but it was not customary to rise. Pretty pissy guys.
