  • I've always loved Bunny Berigan and he is fabulous on this record but somebody...please...enlighten me...who is this angel doing the vocal? Kathleen Lane...not familiar with her but I want to be! What a gorgeous tone! Such tender phrasing! Enchanting!

  • Beautiful record!

For the full story of it, and the rest of Berigan's music and life, check out the new biography of him: "Mr. Trumpet--the Trials, Tribulations and Triumph of Bunny Berigan" by Michael P. Zirpolo. For info, search Mr. Trumpet.

  • The Berigan solo is okay, if a little shaky...but ,who is doing the wonderful job on tenor? Anyone know?

  • @ljliljohn Bunny was doin things you will never understand

  • Berigan had gorgeous tone.

  • so pretty :)

  • Recorded on November 22, 1938.

  • You know, I love Harry James. He could play anything. And he could play pretty. But Bunny's chorus on this piece makes Harry sound as if he were playing kazoo. I'm guessing this was about when Harry recorded "I'm in the Market for You". Also a brilliant solo. But not in this league.

  • Bunny's playing lead too. Dear God, what a solo....

  • Right. A favorite of mine. Kathleen Lane does a very good job on the vocal, but Bunny's chorus is out of this world!

  • Where are all the comments for this worthy post?
